Your local media (or any Western media) will unlikely help in this regard, unfortunately. The US is spending $1.6 Billion over 5 years on anti China propaganda. Nothing deemed favourable to China will ever get reported by western media. The Nanjing massacre and Japanese invasion is only a slice of history of the atrocities suffered by the Chinese people. Wait until you learn also about the two Opium Wars (how Hong Kong was taken away) and the looting and burning down of the summer palace, the eight nations alliance against China..etc. And the oppression and attacks continue to this day. Hi, Evan! I’ve been watching you for a while, and I really admire your courage, sincerity and humility. I’d like to share one thing with you to give you some background info. One of the biggest reason that the Japanese atrocities during WW2 were never talked about in the US or the rest of the world outside of China or Korea is due to the (secret) agreement the US and Japan made at the end of the war. Essentially, Japan agreed to “cooperate” and become partially subjugated to the US in exchange for the records of all their horrifying acts sealed and put away. This has been beneficial for the US for many reasons and one of them being their most reliable and useful ally in Asia maintaining a good reputation is must for their geopolitical/military east Asia strategies. Anyways, I know it’s starting to sound like a conspiracy theory but you may choose to believe or not. I just want to let you know this, so that you know how far back and deep “why” Americans are not taught about this. It is not as simple as if someone raises enough awareness then it will change type of thing. So even if it doesn’t go well according to your plan or you feel discouraged trying and trying, just know that it’s okay, it’s not your fault. And if you get threats again, take them seriously, it’s okay to drop it. Don’t feel any pressure that you must continue even if it causes you serious troubles. We will not hold you accountable for it, you don’t owe us anything, we will continue to support you regardless and will always wish you the best. Thank you for your thoughts and efforts.

We deeply appreciate everything you have done. The tragic history and suffering inflicted on the Chinese people by Japanese militarism are now little known. Japanese history textbooks refer to the "Nanjing Massacre" merely as the "Nanjing Incident," completely avoiding mention of Japan's invasion of China. Instead, they portray Japan solely as a victim of atomic bombings, without reflecting on why those bombs were dropped in the first place. To this day, the world sees only the strength of China’s military, but only the Chinese people truly understand that a nation without a strong defense is left with nothing but endless humiliation and war reparations. This is a lesson the Chinese learned as far back as the late Qing Dynasty.
I don't remember how many times I said this recently: Jimmy Carter was a good man. As a Chinese I deeply respect him. We are all taught about the Flying Tigers in our primary school. We are not just grateful to those brave, kind American soldiers, we love them. Our country was too impoverished and chaotic to take good care of John Rabe and Minnie Vautrin. Our regret is one of the reasons we are trying to be good to you. Never again shall we miss out the opportunity to repay those who are good to us. But that is only ONE of many reasons. Another reason is that you are a really good person. Like how you handle the memorial day for the victims of Nanking Massacre. I see your post on X raising awareness of this tragedy. I visited the Memorial Hall during a school trip in high school. I still remember that several teachers and students (including myself) really cried during the visit. Pawn Man, what you have done so far in Nanking/Nanjing (not to mention before and thereafter) was incredible, because I was in that city twice and neither time I was able to bring myself to the museum, knowing the history. Comparing to you, I am so ashamed. I am saying this, also, because I have been to the Hiroshima museum and cried my heart out.

Apart from the atomic bomb site in Hiroshima, there is almost no history of World War II in Japan, and people are unaware of the harm Japan has brought to the people of other countries. The Japanese government has done a thorough job in downplaying the history of the war.

It is admirable that you want peace between the United States and China. I'm still of the camp that believes peace is impossible, and people like the late John Pilger are right when they say that a war between China and the United States is close to reality. Regarding Carter... shows what a peaceful respectful man he was.... but others like Trump obviously gave him a good kicking after he recently died and blamed carter for giving the panama canal away....
