Just busted out laughing at the “why am I not cooking the eggs on the grill, because he’s 2 and won’t eat them if there is black in them”. I feel ya dude!
I just got a 22” portable 2 burner flat top in the summer for my wife and I to tailgate with this football season. I’ve used it many times at home too. Thank you so much for all your help as I’ve been learning something new.
Love the flag and love the video! I bought a flat top not too long ago and been practicing a lot but making breakfast for my family is something I've definitely been wanting to do. I appreciate that you showed your process rather than just quickly going over what you were making.
This looks amazing. Also, my two little ones get upset with black stuff in their eggs as well! I learned from True North Cafe that if you spray some Pam on the area you plan on cooking eggs, wipe it clean, then spray again it virtually eliminates the black specks. Those potatoes (and everything else) looked next level. Definitely gonna try some potatoes next time I cook a big breakfast. Keep it coming brother!
Thanks! That's a great tip about the pam. I hadn't seen his video about that. I try to watch all his videos they are really good. I really like him he seems like a stand up guy. I'm glad you lied the potatoes I thought they turned out pretty good too. Thanks again for watching and have a great weekend.
Sausage gravy would be a great video!! Once again another great grilling video showing how to cook up breakfast!! I really do like the way you shoot the videos, do voice overs, narrating your process and even the side videos, add that little extra. Big shout out from Toronto, Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
Thanks so much! I'm glad you like my style. It takes me a little longer to produce them but I think it ends up being something a little different. I'm appreciate you watching.
I've really enjoyed your helpful and humorous videos since getting my griddle last month. Alot to learn yet, and my first E book purchase! Thanks Cheers to your channel and your family.
There are a few things I like to pull up on TH-cam when I need to relax and lower my blood pressure. It's mostly outdoorsy hiking stuff, and also your stuff. Really enjoy hearing you talk us through everything. Thanks for the video.
That really does look amazing Johnny! The order of things and how you executed each step were perfect! I sure hope I could get a griddle that size one day. Thanks for the cool video!
You have AWESOME commentary with your excellent cooking. You make me want to sell my two burner Blackstone griddle and purchase a four burner Blackstone. I would have to sell my two burner first. Take care and keep making the videos. They are so easy to understand and follow. You have taught me so much about cooking on a griddle.
Thanks so much! Ya I'm not going to lie the four burner is so nice once you get one. I'm really only cooking for 3 people (2 1/2 actually). But I still manage to fill it up. I really appreciate you always watching.
Thanks Johnny. First i love the flag , and i made a butt load of french toast and froze for my wife to have during the week. She loves it. That was such i good idea you shared. When i worked at a diner many years ago we use to use water instead of milk for scrambles eggs. Its better. I will have to try the baking powder. Thanks brother.
Hey Bryan, glad you liked the video. Ya the french toast and/or pancakes in the freezer is clutch. It's just so easy to microwave or throw in the toaster. It's a little dangerous though because then I'm eating it every morning with lot of syrup lol. Definetly try the baking powder I'd love to get other peoples opinion. I legitametly do not know if it works haha. It's just one of those things you start doing and never stop just bc someone told you to a long time ago. Thanks for watching.
Looks great! We just made french toast using some old homemade bread. Cut it up thick, soaked in eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon, threw it on the griddle with lots of butter and it came out amazing - better than the local diner. I'm eating far, far too well... XD
Heck ya man that sounds great. I'm working on a whole video about french toast that this cook inspired me to do. I agree it comes out great on the griddle
Great video. One thing you may want to look at is getting a metal pizza peel. I have one and use in not only for oven made pizza, but it's wonderful for flipping Omelettes. Another thing I've started doing is slicing a couple of potatoes really thin with a mandolin and covering the FTG with them. It's a great way to make potato chips without all the additives.
I love watching your videos! My husband just got a blackstone for Christmas. He loves cooking on it! We're collecting the essential tools. Where is the syrup pan from?
Awesome!!! Thanks so much for watching and congratulations on the griddle. I got it in Amazon it's a milk brother cup or something. I'll try to find you a link. It wasn't too expensive.
Cold water for the box pancake mix also helps with fluffiness. Learned that one cooking for Denny’s back in the day. Also the sausage gravy video is a great idea!
Loving all your videos, I don't know what your heat level in food is but I am a big fan of the juice from pickled jalapeños in my scrambled eggs and omelets instead of water.
Johnny gets it. My wife knows when I wake up early and take care of chores or honey-dos, Its because I plan on being lazy later for some reason. Might be football watching, might be boys night, but it's always something.
Another awesome video brother. Just to share a game changer, get one of those green flat scrubbing pads (just the scrub, not the one with the yellow sponge attached). I cut it in half because I'm cheap, but keep it separate from the wash up ones and you will never peel potatoes or carrots any other way. Use it just like wet dry sandpaper.
King of the grill is right. You make it look too easy, your Bob Evans experience really shows. I can only dream of reaching your high skill level! Add my name to the pre-order list for a 2XL t-shirt. The flag is off the charts cool. Now all I need to do is get you over to the Nittany Lions, away from the dark side. Thank you for another superb video.
Thanks Rick!!! I'll mark you down for a shirt once I get them made. And your Nitty Lions are looking good this year. I'm a little scared but we need to get through ND first this weekend.
Dehydrated hash browns are a game changer.. I found the frozen cool down my griddle to below 100deg before it starts to rebound, then I end up with mush. I tried defrosting them and they were just soggy. The dehydrated crisp up so much better while keeping the temp up. The little boxes say 7 servings, I get 3 out of them. If its just for me, ill open a box and weigh out 2oz of dehydrated and put it in a coffee cup and throw it under the coffee maker.
Nice looking breakfast and flag. You should check out Alton Brown's French toast from good eats. Cliff notes: The night before, make the custard and set your your bread out to go stale. Soak the bread for 30 secs a side then let it rest on a wire rack for 1 min. Griddle each side for a min or so, then you bake then for 10 ish min. Makes for a fantastic toast, crispy outside and a creamy interior.
I literally just made the GE's french toast on the griddle today. Made 2 extra sweet loaves and got 16 slices. Froze 12 and the wife and I had F R E N C H T O A S T for dinner. AB uses Honey, I use maple syrup. 4 eggs 1c milk and 4Tbs maple syrup. I cut mine texas toast style but they are very dense so I do 1 minute per side on 3 flips. Sounds long but its not. 16 slices took me 3 batch's.
Johnny, for next-level pancakes, try this: Mix an entire box of that Kroger Complete pancake mix with half a box of Aldi protein pancake mix. Scoop out what's needed for today's pancakes in a bowl. Add: one egg, a splash of vanilla extract, three taps of cinnamon, and use milk instead of water. Pour mix on griddle. Add chocolate chips as needed. Remember, once chips come out of the bag, they don't go back in. Enjoy!
Grass gets mowed at the golf course, golf is the best, and at my course family is included so grill pool side with your family, but really just cook for the family
Ya I think it's my wife's favorite hobby to. At some point I'd like to do charcoal but probably down the road. I really don't know as much and I'm still learning.
Howdy Johnny, another great video. Cannot thank you enough for the cooking order and temperatures to cook at. The bacon on first whilst the griddle is coming up to temp is a great tip. Thanks to your enlightenment I now have an older Sister that brings her bacon over for me to cook on the griddle. Or perhaps it's because she juz doesn't want to clean up the grease in the kitchen.... Have A Day! ;~)
Dang it, Johnny! You flung a cravin' on me with that breakfast. I was going to try and fast for a while this morning. Nah...I'll start that mess next week. Firing up that griddle now.
We go camping alot and I'll skin my potatoes shred em oroku saki style and then I'll squeeze the juices (starch) outta them with a paper towel to get golden crispy brown
As usual. OUSTANDING VID!!!!! I created something delicious recently. Just haven't made it on the Blackstone yet. Check this: Tomato, Jalapeños, Banana Peppers and Fiesta Blend Shredded Cheese Quesadilla. They are 🔥. I did them in the Microwave. The peppers and tomatoes were fresh out of a friend's garden. I'll do one on the Blackstone next time. You get bored. Give one a try. I also need to add Sour Cream, Guacamole, and Salsa. Next time. Keep up the good work. Be Blessed My Friend. 😊
I used to play golf in High School, way back in the 70s. Had a full set of MacGregor clubs and bag. Then I got married. That ended my golf career. Had to sell my clubs.
Johnny, call me a medic. First day of five days off, and I am lying on the couch, having overdosed on a bacon, hash brown, egg, and coffee breakfast. Lots of bacon grease in everything but the coffee. LOL!
