Love this song. In 1972 Gerry Rafferty was in the Scottish folk rock band Stealers Wheel & had a big hit with "Stuck In The Middle With You". Later on, he went out on his own & then had the big hits "Baker's Street", "Right Down The Line" & "Night Owl".
Very cool and affirming to see this. Gerry was a wonderful, soulful musician who had a canny knack for bringing the heart to the surface. To realise people are still getting that warm, hard to describe feeling 50 years after the song was released. That is the definition of “timeless” ❤

You should listen to a another Scottish singer song writer called Frankie Miller and his song called ( Darlin ) and he was a very good friend of Gerry's
Rafferty was excellent, too bad he didn't get more hits besides the two he is famous for...this one and Baker Street. the key changes and harmonies on this are several notches above the usual junk with 3 -4 chords.
Still get chills when i hear this song. Exactly how I feel about my wife. Without her I would be nothing.
