Who is Rocking with DOKKEN in 2024???
I swear to God I was just gonna say that!
All that I can say is: I STILL AM!!!
Me from the coast of North Carolina.
Lynch such a badass
mmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I didnt know it then, but I was very lucky to come up during the 80's.
There will never be a time like that again.
You were lucky. I lived in Brisbane, Australia in the 80s. No one listened to this except a few of us. Never played on radio, never on TV, no tours. I had long hair at high school and university and was treated like a loser. Tough days, but worth it.
I was a teenager then and graduated high school in 86’. The best part of the times was definitely the music. Rock on gen x!!!!!!
The GREAT memories attached to all these songs will stay with me forever !
Agreed. All the metal today is tuned down drop z flat trash that sounds like mud through a bath towel.
@@youropionmattersnot Proper definition for today's Metal. 👍
I'm 72 years old, and i enjoy Dokken just as much as I did years ago. Some music lives on forever.
Looks like we're on the same page today... (retired CHP officer)
rock on youngster
@@KF3118 Thanks, I will definitely do so! I grew up in my teens, and my 20's so I enjoyed all the greats: ELP, Black Sabbath, The Doors, Jethro Tull, Yes, Styx, Jonny Winter, Edgar Winter, The Stones, the Beatles, Pat Travers, Alman Brothers, Kansas, and many more. I was so blessed to be born in 1952. You keep Rockin on too.

George Lynch 4 evah 😎
Wish we had the whole concert, they usually opened up with “Kiss of Death” on that tour, my favorite Dokken song.
@@flashy5150I assume it was slightly after this point of the tour that they added that to their setlist as this video is days before Back For Attack was released.
@@sanfranman4919 Burning Like a Flame is also on BFTA?
Thanks!!
I love Dokken, but George's best work was the first two Lynch Mob discs, and Don's was Up From The Ashes.
Man, I miss everything about the 80’s, especially the music, and of course my youth
And hair.
There will never be anything like this era ever again. We 80s kids were truly blessed to live during that time in history. The best music, the best movies, the best bmx bikes/motorcross, and the list goes on. Just us against the world.
no internet no cell phones was fucking amazing can go raise hell and nobody to record it!
Yeah I can remember back then I couldn’t wait to be an adult. I was an idiot.
@@soko1450 I hear that
I miss the 80's. I may be in my 50's, but I will never lose my love for real Rock~N~Roll! Bands on stage with real voices and kick ass speakers. No fake lip syncing. Heavy Metal steals the show.
They’re killin it here. I was in a hospital after a car wreck in ‘86 and I just listened to Under Lock and Key over and over. Had it on cassette. Lol
Walkman!
Dokken in their prime were amazing.
Rockin' like Dokken! 🤘🤘🤘 80's metal was always the best!
These guys were untouchable in their prime! Most catchy tunes for a hard rock/glam band evah!!
All they had to do was get along….
@@gattingbowledwarne Yup,what a huge dam shame ,they were gonna headline for Back for the Attack album and break it really big.

One of the most underrated bands of the 80s
Well......They were just happy to be opening for any band in the 80s. He mentioned being out opening for Aerosmith so the audience would believe they're real rockstars too. A possible shot at Tom Hamiltons sloppy seconds if they could hook up with Aerosmith's rejected groupies. Nobody in the band could write songs so now they have a worthless song catalog. That's why they play mostly bars and town fairs for drinks and pocket change. They never could get to the next level. Didn't have a wow factor at all. But, hey.....at least they were able to open for the stars. That's successful-ish.
thank God we didnt miss it =) I can still remember the record shop that doesnt exist anymore .. where I bought the Lock and Key album back in the 80s ..still got it ! Funny thing about the record shop not existing anymore is that it went from being a record shop in the 80s to a BLOCKBUSTER video in the 90s .... now its an auto-parts store.Good memories!!
in my opinion they touch the excellence and create one of the most incredible records on the rock history with under lock and key, but...then... ????... ueoooo... where are you, Don and guys?... underrated? this band is a mith with two brutal records, no more... like quiet riot!... underrated? noooooooooooooo
Thats the first time ive heard of Dokken and i think i definately just heard one of the best guitarists of my lifetime ! and the singer is Insane, the way he carry"s those notes with awsome tones . Phaaaaaark . And not just the way they sound, the way they look too and how fit they all are and there dedication to their craft shines 100 pr cent . I just watched listened to all the songs and ive just witnessed Greatness .
It’s a shame their egos killed the dokken band image. They coulda been legends at this point🤦🏻♂️
Unbelievable. Lynch is on fire on this set. Just a straight up beast playing lead guitar. And Don holds it down with his vocals. I saw this tour in California in ‘87; Dokken opened for Aerosmith, who were blowing up after the single “Dude Looks Like a Lady”…what a time to be alive. I miss the 80’s man!!!
I seen it in Oakland
Under Lock and Key, still one of the best albums ever made. One of the few you can put on, listen straight through and every single song is awesome.
absolutely perfect album!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Burnin' Like a Flame! 5:36 WHY isn't it on classic rock on a regular basis? My son found my homemade cassettes a couple years ago and came downstairs asking, "Who is THIS?" Out of all the songs, THAT's the one that he knew kicked ass! Keep rockin' with Dokken!
This was a great tour. Dokken was one of the better bands in the 80’s I saw.
Back when life was simply better and THIS was the soundtrack of our lives, LONG LIVE ROCK N ROLL🤘🏼😁🤘🏼 Thank you posting such great videos 🙏🏻
The Big 80’s Were The Best Of Times… I Wish I Could Go Back! 🎸⭐️
Man I was obsessed with Lynch's guitar playing at that time. Just listening to him (and Vai) day in and day out elevated my own playing so much.
George Lynch RULES 🔥🤟💀🤟🔥🔥such an ICONIC GUITAR PLAYER!!!
Dokken holds up better than most of this time period. They have a timeless sound.
Dokken was such a great Rock Band.
So glad I grew up in this era of musical prodigies all trying to out-do each other.
GREAT, GREAT, GREAT, TIMES!
A band in peak form. George is in beast mode for this show!
Wow! Don sounds real good here.
He sounds good everywhere
@@МихаилАлексеев-ч1м Not in the last 5 years lol
@@wob6776Saw him last weekend. Best performance Don has had in five years. Seen the band 16 times with Don not being so good three or four times.
@@kenbo1512 That's great to hear actually. Before this current tour I had been watching clips from the previous ones and things didn't sound good whatsoever
Check out Wils Mick killing it with traditional grip! Love it!!
Miss the 70s, 80s, and early 90s rock with their cool costumes and long hair. 👍👍👍
As a Huge Dokken fan since 1981, this was awesome!🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Y&T, Dio, Dokken, New Years Eve, 81
@@kevinb3307 Y&T will melt your face!
Born in 71 got into metal right around 83-84. I think one of the first music videos I ever saw was Dokken. I was completely mesmerized at 13 that a guitarist could play the guitar with one hand
Dude! You are the same age as me! 52 years? I missed alot of hard rock music because I first liked pop in general in like 86 and 87. Then my ears told me I wanted more heavy music. Then I learned what metal was all about. Late 80s with bands like this, skid row, the lepps, the crue, etc. Went to about 40 concerts in my lifetime. 80s will rock forever. Will never let this stuff go all my life!! Thanx, Darryl in McHenry Illinois.
Double blessed to have seen all these bands and in SoCal. The Strip was insane back in these days
I'm rocking with Dokken, loved these guys. Thanks for the great 80's memories!
Never seen such an amazing guitar solo. George Lynch is awesome here
The vocals and guitar! Absolutely as good as anything from this era!!!👍👌💪👏
George goin' off
When Don had his voice this voice was one of the best of the rock world ...I also put Aldo Nova at the highest level!
Maiden-Ratt-Queensryche-Blue Murder. ETC. THE BEST
Don sounds great its sad what has happened to his voice. Throat surgery is the last thing you want to hear when you are a singer, let alone dealing with the champion...father time! I want to teleport back to the early 80's!
Still in there prime Dons voice still had substance, great stuff,Pilson backgrounds on point, lynch kicking ass, when doesn’t he! Fun to watch thanks
George was 33 and owning it. One of the greatest. Wish jaded heart was played. Still a sick set.
Thanks for posting this! George Lynch is one of my favorite guitarists from back in the day. Lived through the Seventies and Eighties and they are the best decades of music in history.
This is the best Video ive seen of Legendary Dokken Thank You I love this!!!!!
It's horrible. They blew up the video too big. Plus this is just a rehashed '87 Philly show that has been around for ages.
Totally agree and I toured with Lynch Mob and saw him TOO much. But this is the best Dokken show I've seen anywhere!!!!!
@@crosswalklarry Back to the basement clown!
Been a fan since highschool 82 Long live dokken 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Lynch 🔥
Saw them at the Monsters of Rock in 1988, in Philadelphia. Was hotter than blazes. They were great.
Yes! The Spetrum where Rocky won the worlds HW title. Brings back memories.
Yes, the Spectrum in Philly, opening for Judas Priest...what a show it was...both of them killed it, as usual...✨🤙🏼✨🔥✨ (still have my ticket stub and the Priest-card/handout that the religious folks outside the Spectrum would hand out after big shows...
No cell phones at all💯👍👍👍👍
A little over a year after this concert I walked into a crowded bar with only 4 people in it,ha--and accidently saw the band Pantera. They were having too much fun playing covers🤘and blew me off my barstool several times. For reals. But,point is it strikes me that George Lynch had a big influence on Dimebag's attack. Dayum,George and the whole band are just destroying it,waaaay cool share. Thanks
Used to see Pantera here weekly at the Basement in DFW with half a dozen attendees….Amazing time to be alive
@@nomandad2000 Salute Lord Tracy and The Basement Girls🔥🥳
Looks like Dokken at the Philly Spectrum opening for Aerosmith, I was there..can you hear me? Great set! Packed house for them!
You can tell openers back in the day, the headliner only gave them the quarter of the front of stage to play.
BEAST FROM THE EAST 1988 is still one of my favourite live albums of all time.
It's a pity they didn't stay together, but I really enjoyed the first LYNCHMOB album & the DON DOKKEN album - so we can't have everything. 🤔
I went to this show at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis. Was November 26, 1987.
Did they open for Dio ? I seen in Chicago around that time with Dio ? Awesome video 🤘
Sorry , just heard it was Aerosmith !
This is the famous bootleg 'Live at the Spectrum, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA 10th November 1987' as you can hear at the beginning Dokken said Aerosmith. You can found it in Japan as DVD and also since many years is available in CD of bootleg
I’ve got this on dvd and I love it. It’s live in Philadelphia. I saw them on this tour in Hampton Va. opening for Aerosmith.
Some great vocals here. Don was incredible back then.
Miss the 80s 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Dokken Roll Forever
🖤🎼💀🌚🌝🕊️🙏🇺🇸
53 still rockn 🤘❤
This was September 1987 opening for Aerotwits...at the Spectrum here in my horrible city of Philthy, PA ...have on dvd
Saw the same tour in December in St. Louis. Dokken was amazing.
Sound quality is very good!! I was big fan of Dokken back in 80’s. Specially I love George’s guitar play style and sound.
Vocals are clear and treble is good but there is like no bass. Lol. Not complaining, it's from 87, but man where did the bass go. Lol
Great bu vox by Jeff & Mick!!!! (Mostly Jeff)
I caught this tour when they opened for Judas Priest at the Oakland arena in 1987. Ended up buying their tour shirt.
Semplicemente favolosi! Li ascolto da più di trent' anni e non mi stancano mai.🎸🎸
Of all the guitar playing styles, 80/90’s hair metal is my fav. So creative, technical and melodic. Love it ❤
Man I miss the old days
George lynch at his best.
Us 🤣 old farts are still rockin' with DOKKEN in 2024.
Along with Ratt, Dokken piss all over the other hair metal brigade! 😀
Wow they were on fire!
i saw this tour in Houston. i was 16 years old. great times. great memories
this is incredible footage!... Thanks so much for this!
In My Dreams video on MTV back in the day. 🔥🔥FIRE🔥🔥 and when that solo takes off..... MY GOD🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for posting! Kick ass 80s rock.😂
Saw these guys in 1985 at Hulman Center in Terre Haute, IN. They opened for Sammy Hagar and it was my first ever rock concert. It was an awesome show. I've always thought Dokken was one of the best bands of that era. Great musicians!
29:50 mins ⚡ George Lynch
Awwww… takes me back to my youth!! Great times!!🤘🏽👊🏼
Ahh, 'Just Got Lucky' was such a good tune. George was just incredible, so freakin' dialed in. Perfection on guitar!
and super wired on blow!
Now that the novelty has long died down, I'll take Dokken 87 over Metallica 87.
This is Fantastic!!! Thank you Dokken !!!
Nada se compara como a tener en el escenario a Don, George, Mick y Jeff.
IMPRESIONANTES.
SEÑORONES.
😊🎶 AGREE 😊🎶
Favorite band growing up.. Used to wear wrestling shoes like George.. lol .. Saw these guys everywhere in the Los Ang,ese area.. Funniest place was Magic Mountain during the Tooth and Nails days.. Great stuff! . This is a great video and good sound.. Don sounds incredibly strong and of course Lynch is going off as usual.
tell me there was a "next time". 😟
several in fact. Thanks for sharing. love these guys. 🤘😀🤘
No laptops for these guys... just talent, sweat and no excuses
Laptops doesn't = no talent. They just run the light show, do the effects changes and the in ear monitors. Has nothing to do with talent.
@@russellward4624 Exactly -- pinhead -- these guys didn't need laptops with all the crap you listed (plus backing tracks) to put on a great show...
@MisterGuitarItalia what's talented about having to hire people to run the light show for you? Much smarter to have it done by the laptop. Easier to have effects done by the computer so you don't need loads of extra length of cable that can fail. Again nothing talented about clicking an effects peddle. In ears save your hearing so your not deaf and can't make music anymore. Again nothing talented about losing your hearing. You clearly never played in a band.
@@russellward4624 Yeah, it's all about the lights dude... all about the lights.
Look at all those Silver Jubillee's!!!
Man, those harmonies between Don, Jeff, and Mick might sound even better live than on the records. Incredible!
killer backing vocals!!!
Around 99/00 they played a small venue at a boardwalk club in mission beach, San Diego. Before show my friend & I bumped into Mick and convinced him to have a Corona with us. Talked for 5 minutes or so. Then he signed a dollar bill I had. Great guy!
Don was the love of my metal head life tares my heart out everything that's happened to him can't replace that voice 💔
Great footage! The guys were definitely running on all cylinders at the time. I thought their stuff was a lot better than a lot of bands, at least melodically. I wore those records out!🎧
Excellent!!!!! Good quality and sound 👍🏼 . Thank you man !!!!
great audio man- thanks for the upload.
Golden Era 😮
Good ol days
I already had all of Dokkens CDs, Lps, but they won over alot of fans opening for Aerosmith !
Jeez i wish i couldve been alive to see dokken back then
They did put on one hell of a show! It's so good seeing the younger generation rockin' to the music we grew up on!🎸🥁🎤🎶🎵
Don and George seem to getting along splendidly.
Don't forget about Jeff Pilson and Mick Brown, they were a half of this gread group.
