I also agree with the no snuggling. Rosie only hops into our laps if she wants to, and if we try to snuggle her when she isn't in the mood, she tends to nip a little.
Connie yeah, my rabbits are both like this lol! A lot of people seem to think rabbits are super snuggly, and this simply may not be the case for every animal. They all have personalities and are unique. Love from my two little buns here!
YES! Cages and hutches are TERRIBLE for bunnies. Our rabbit Rosie used to live in a cage. We got her from a pet store when we didn't know enough about rabbits. I still regret it to this day, because we could have rescued a rabbit from a shelter instead. (I still love Rosie though) In her cage, she was depressed and not mentally stimulated. She was on a diet of commercial pellet bunny food, which isn't good for them. She would get fruit and lettuce, but as a treat. We found a rabbit care channel and now she lives in two exercise pens conjoined and gets salads every day, some fruit, and pellets. Her enclosure is about as big as the room, and she still gets to have free roam of the house about every day. I can honestly say that if we had found your channel instead of the other channel, she would be just as happy today! You have so much knowledge about animals, and are seriously underrated. Thank you for the educational vids!
Connie oh my gosh, thank you so much for taking the time to write our such a kind and thoughtful comment! I’m so glad that you were willing to learn from your mistakes and grow, allowing your bunny Rosie to be happier as a result! I’m so thankful when I hear stories like yours because it feels like little content like this may impact some animals lives and improve their existence just as a whole. I’m so happy you did the right thing and that your rabbit is getting top-notch care. Thank you again!! 🐰🐰
Totally agree bunny's need lots of love and time. My bunny is special needs he was born s single kit. He lives with our cat and thinks he is one! He's bonded to me and wants my love all the time bless him. Hi from us.
Bunnies are such lovable creatures! I've just checked out your channel and you're doing some awesome stuff spreading awareness and information on special needs rabbits. My rabbits are much more timid and prefer each other, but they are still very sweet and enjoy spending time with the humans. Rusty and Stormy say hello back! 🐰
@@ThrivePetDesign aww thanks that means s lot. Were trying to push out 'binkys way' . Binky wasn't always so calm. It was his illness that I persisted being bitten and scratched but he would never now. He's had 20 seizures and gi stasis over 45 times :/ it was a long road to today
@@binkybunnysway943 Well I'm very proud of him and impressed with you for giving him such awesome care. Binky sounds like an amazing rabbit, and I'm sorry he's had such a long journey to get to today, but I'm really amazed that he still got there and has improved personality wise!
GuineaCorns YT aww I’m really glad! That would be so awesome to see more people promoting proper rabbit care on YT. Good luck if you make the choice to bring one home :)
Hello everyone and welcome to today's video on the pros and cons of rabbits! They are amazing, popular animals to own, but widely misunderstood and neglected due simply to people promoting improper care. With the proper care, however, they are very sweet, lovable and enjoyable companions for the 10+ years they may live with you! Please enjoy! Just a note: I feature an old photo of our rabbit setup at 2:13. They've been upgraded even more since then and now have half of that room! In a perfect world, they would free-roamed, yes, but they still have more than what I believe to be minimum with an extensive amount of toys and enrichment. There is always room for improvement in every setup and I'm willing to admit that. 😉 Oooo, I also have a second note here! I do mention some stuff about hamsters, and I just wanted everyone to know I'm not trying to make it seem like hamsters are super easy loll. They require (at a MINIMUM) 450 square inches of uninterrupted floor space but I would recommend even more than this! They need at least 6 chew toys as well enrichment, foraging, quality food, 8-11 inches of bedding at the highest point, a big wheel (one where their back doesn't arch), etc. I don't own one, but I do believe they are easier because, while they still need a lot of space, they need less than a rabbit does. They can have monthly deep cleans (with daily/weekly small cleanings) while rabbits really need deep cleans weekly if not bidaily/daily. I really wanted to explain this here because my opinion is that, if given the proper care, every animal is expensive and difficult to take care of. However, some animals are harder to less of that extent. I hope that this makes sense lol. I am willing to explain more if anyone has any questions. Enjoy!
@@binkybunnysway943 Wow! I really wish we could free roam our rabbits, but it's not really in the cards atm. I'm sure it must be difficult though not being able to keep him in an enclosure, just to keep a closer eye on him sometimes. Knowing my rabbits they would probably just spend more time sleeping if we started free roaming lol

Wire bottom cages arghhhh! So right I hate this
Wire bottom cages are awful! I don't know how people look at that and think that their rabbits are having a good life in one of those?
