I got lost instantly, but thank you for trying.
It's the 1:43 for me
You explained and demonstrated the 12 bar blues so well. I wish I could've had a teacher in HS with your clarity and your grasp on improvisation for the trombone
Sorry to be off topic but does anyone know of a trick to get back into an instagram account..?
I stupidly forgot the account password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
@Briggs Asher Instablaster =)
Best 14 minutes 25 seconds I spent all day.
Great lesson video. Simple and easy to understand. Also, it’s so awesome to see more female trombonist representation on TH-cam! 💪
Yeah tbh
This was a great lesson! Very well structured and easy to understand 😄👍🏾I love how you emphasize both the rhythmic and harmonic aspects (besides only the blues scale) of playing/improvising.
I didnt know a trombone could be this smooth
very impressed with your smooth tone and amazing trombone knowledge ....
Awesome in its simplicity and presentation! Pretty inspiring to an "old dog" rejoining the band after a few decades in the desert.
Thank you
Bass trombone is where it's at, I love playing phat
I play trombone and tuba
Yessir
You're amazing Natalie!
That was awesome! I just started learning the trombone 3 and a half weeks ago, and I just tried playing that baseline this morning!
Superb job - well done! Clear, concise and ego-free...how refreshing. Keep up the good work.
Lovely !
Clarity and simplicity!
I was watching a lot of Arranging and Orchestration videos, but everyone just talks Theory.
I'm here trying to get the sound of the trombone in my ear, and get a grasp of the range of the trombone.
Your video just helped me so much, thank you Natalie !
What a unique sound Natalie. Cheers
Thank you Natalie!
Nice tone Natalie!
Thank you for the great lesson!
Great lesson, thanks Natalie.
Great video. Very informative. You are a great player. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much for this easy to understand lesson. I am a singer taking up trombone and this has helped me in so many ways.
Imhope you will continue to teach!
Very well explained !!!
I love this! Thank you.
Wonderful dress, wonderful lesson, great sound and feel. Love it!
Loved the Video!!!
Effective lesson for soloing,,...thanks! Do more! :D
Great trombone sound
Beautiful tone. I must go practice:)
great video!
Well done.
Nice sounds
I didn't know emily blunt plays the trombone.
I like your sound😍
REAL GREAT!!!! HAVE SOME FUN !!!
Why does every instrument have to sound so good in blues, I thought harmonica was the thing, but it seems the bone is as well.
The blues is a scale not a timbre
As a Harmonica Player who also plays Trombone all I can say it's based on the musician if you put the practice, any instrument can sound good on a spefic genre just don't let the instrument "play you" (old band saying but if you know what I meant then good) :)
Michael Gaweseb Both very vocal instruments. Cool thing about blues harp is tongue blocking and the hand cup like a plunger mute on trombone.
It's because the blues is one of the greatest forms in the world, so regardless of how you play it, it's going to sound great!
@@trentalley4564 isn’t all music not scales
Thanks Nat , i learned this stuff along time ago but for got alot you helped me to think about it again ,, is that a carbon inner slide u have on that king loks black . I cant weight to play with u one day at one of your shows in berkeley at the end when we get to come up and jam .
Fabulous
Cool!
Great video! Also, the audio was very good. Would you mind explaining your setup as far as mic, interface and software used? Thanks!
Thanks Nick! The mic is a Sennheiser MKE2, directly into the camera. We edited this one in FCPX. - Claire
Thanks, really appreciate the info! I'm learning trumpet and have been trying to record myself. You playing is so effortless looking. Hope I can achieve that on the trumpet!

Great sound. What's the instrument? Is it a big bore Holton? Notice your tuning slide is way out is that normal for you or is the instrument or band?
Can you teach each step? My 13 year old is trying to learn Jazz on her own.
Great…
Que Som lindo.
Natalie - It looks like you play a King T-bone? What model is it?
Hi Natalie. Great stuff. Please enter kurt Thompson’s. Scooby doo challenge. Just search kurt Thompson Scooby doo challenge. It’s fun and we need more entries for trombone.

Very knowledgeable music nerd wise, but use a stand don’t damage your slide!
Our jazz trombonist is ALSO a girl! :)
