My vocal performance teacher showed me a clip of this song (not this actual performance though) and after re-listening to it, I'm putting Company on my CDs to get list! ^-^
I NEVER get tired of watching this rendition of this classic Sondhien gem! These three broads give it what it was meant to have,Guts, balls and what he had in mind when he wrote it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,FUN!
I really am not a fan of Stephen Sondheim so how is it that he wrote this song which is one of my favourite musical songs ever. This is one of my favourite versions too. Double whammy for me.
The replacement lyric, "If a person happened to be gay," is sad & pathetic. These words are coming from the mouths of 3 characters--if that's the words they'd choose, it's the words that should be sung. Sondheim wrote them for a reason. Good decision, JB!
I absolutely love this version!!! Fabulous.
amazing!!!
love this song!
Ralph Waldo Emerson believed in order to learn you had to contradict yourself constantly. So no worries.
This video is awesome.
I so want to sing this song haha!!! xx
OMG. I can't believe that I just replied to my own comment that I made about a month ago calling myself stupid. LOL XD
Great video - just posted it to my blog!

I love all the clips from the 75th birthday tribute...has anyone got a copy of the whole thing (or knows someone who has)?

speaking as a gay man, I was laughing at the line and the limp wrist choriography. It is not offensive, especially in the context.
I agree. as a gay guy, I think it's one of the funniest things I've heard. xD
So fast!
LOL! Did anyone else hear "YOU SON OF A BITCH" in the song at about 00:49??
Soundheim is amazing! :D
lol. Yes. It's part of the song. :P
i understand your point, but i don't think debbie novotny would mind the word in this context... heh. ;)
