🎨 Today I am inspired by the beautiful hibiscus my hubby cut for me.

Debbie what method did you use to transfer your drawing onto the Arches paper? The drawing and finished painting is wonderful BTW.

Hi Deborah, I use carbon paper. Many times/most, I try to sketch out from a photograph, but occassionally when Im trying to save time I will just use carbon paper, its so easy and quick. I do have Daniel Smith Quin Coral, and I love it. About six weeks ago I order several tubes of Daniel Smith and I really like it.
I tried a few M. Graham, loved the colors and creaminess, but it was too sticky for me.

Debbie, I had bought myself the Quinacridone Coral awhile ago. This is the perfect piece to use it on. I also use it on other flowers. Fun color! Great video.
I came across it as I was wanting to paint tropical leaves and flowers, and t his seemed like the perfect pinky red for them~ Its a beautiful color, and Yes, Im going to start looking at more Daniel Smith colors, I'm seeing many I really like.

@DebbieWalkerArtmadeeasy yes we do and I've painted a few of them. Most of them are pink that I see. My doctor has a few bushes out front that are loaded with these flowers in the spring.

Daniel Smith Quinacridone Coral is my favorite color! It’s gorgeous! I know you like winsor and Newton but you really should explore Daniel Smith more. They have some gorgeous colors ~ especially the primateks. I love DS.
Oh I think I will I have used W&N since college (and I'm no spring chicken) I think I will explore some DS. Primateks, hmm ill give those a try~ Happy painting Loveandlife~
I too absolutely love Daniel Smith watercolors. The Quinacridone Coral is amazing. I do use Winsor and Newton and others, but my go to is DS.

I have several hibiscus in my garden. They range from light to dark yellow, pink, peach and red. Many of them have different colours in the centre. Yellow with deep pink 2 shades of pink and red inside peach. That quin coral would look great with the peach.

I live in Cape Town, South Africa. We have a similar climate to Southern California. I believe you said you live in California but I don’t know whether you are from the north or the south.

Not so many Hibiscus Debbie. In our tiny gardens we have petunia, roses, dahlias,primroses geraniums and solanum( which is a lovely white flower that spreads along walls and trellis) We have had the most torrential rain here in Ireland for the last couple of weeks so flowers are not doing too well. Thanks so much for sharing your talents 🙏❤️
