Took an 03 in the same color out for a test ride. Found this video after doing some post test ride home work and the review sealed the deal for me! Glad I took the bike out. Looks great in my driveway!

I've got the exact same bike with Vance & Hines pipes - love everything about it. Great bike for short riders. Low center of gravity, handles smooth as butter.

Thanks for your reviews Sean I love them! Your honest and real unlike alot of others. Where you live is an awesome riding area and god has blessed you with your job. I like how you always gun it on that one strip after turning around at that church so everyone can get an idea of the torque and acceleration of the bike.

I’ve been looking at a 06 v star with 13k miles wanted to do a lot of research before buying and I will say that this video might have sealed the deal for me

Thanks for your review Sean and your videos are superb. You clearly enjoy your work and it shows in the way you discuss the motorcycle that you are test driving. I appreciate your style and expertise.

I had a 2005 V Star 1100 Classic years ago. I put 17,500 miles on it in one season. I couldn’t stay off of it. It was my first bike after a 25 year layoff, and it was the perfect re-starter bike. It wasn’t too heavy, so it was very forgiving after making a mistake. My only complaint about the bike was the dual carbs. They were finicky as hell. My first ride of the day was never a problem, it was later in the day when I’d stop for coffee or a bite. It didn’t like those 20-30 minute rests. Once I was back on the road it would always run choppy for about 10 minutes. I never figured out why it did that, and I never bought another car edition bike. Since then I’ve owned 3 Vulcans, a 1500 Classic, a 1600 Nomad, and my current bike, a 1600 Classic, all fuel injected. It’s very unfortunate Yamaha stopped making midsize V Twins. I’ve loved all of my Vulcans, and none them ever left me stranded or gave me a problem, but I think Yamaha used to put out a better cruiser. The fit and finish was the best among the metrics. I almost bought a 2013 Roadliner. That thing was a work of art.

Adam Kadmon you do know the valves aren't the only thing I was mentioning in general, and I have the oil filter relocater on mine. So if you don't like what I am writing don't read it and don't respond.

With the money he saved he has the mechanic take care of everything instead of getting dirty. We've had 4 of these 1100 and never had a problem, checked yes, but always just fine.
Next time I see you on the side of the road or in your driveway working on yiur bike we'll wave.
      beep..beep...

srk, I'm impressed. PA is beautiful this time of year, and would you have any qualms of me , after bleeding the front brake, driving it back to Arizona? Assuming the tires are good enough to make it?

Hi Sean, great review. I'm in the UK - Wales - looking to spend between £5000/£6000 in time for next summer for that same make and model Yam. Hoping to spend less... As a bike dealer, yourself, what would be your cut off price for a good, reliable machine - Yamaha xvs 1100 classic. Cheers 👍

I bought my "03 new and love it. I had to make brackets to straighten the windshield up so the wind wouldn't hit the top of my helmet and try to lift it off my head. I have the rootbeer over tan colour and have cut out the rear pipe baffles to increase the "grumble" from that beautiful engine. I made a front fender trim to dress it up and also made my own highway lights bar so I don't have the same stuff other guys bolt on to their bikes. This bike is all the motorcycle I need. LOVE IT!

Hey im not sure you still read these comments, just in case you do, im looking exactly at this bike, same model, year etc, i took it for a test drive, the pull just dies as the bike revs up a little, dealer said its because of the cold (40F give or take and the bike was standing for about 3 weeks) any suggestion as to what might be wrong? i drove it for about 5 miles, something just felt off, like the power was not there, I was thinking maybe people messed around with the choker to much... im no mechanic tho, what do you think, let it be or is it worth taking the risk (financially the cost is not consequential, in fact the bike is a fantastic deal, low milage, and low price).
