Hello and welcome to episode 6 of our podcast | Pistons! - The Podcast. Each week Dad and I will spend some time together in his workshop waxing lyrical about cars and the week we have had.
In this episode, we discuss the really busy week we have had in the workshop with some horrific repairs being made to the Smart 451, MOT work on the Audi A4, Toyota MR2 National Day and work on the K11 Micra's has started (But NOT that one!) Multiple MOTs are coming up this fortnight PLUS some exciting news as we team up with Drayton Motors of Boston to test some brand new KGM cars!

Tool of the week is used to install the older type of Lucas nipple wiring connections into the sheathed blocks.

Great feature as always. Im glad you're keeping the y reg K11. It's definitely a keeper and i think they'll appreciate over the next few years. Hopefully the red one is resurrectable. Was it your first car? Was there not a picture of you washing an L reg one as a very young man?
It'll be interesting to see the China Blue auto by comparison too.

Named after the Italian / Roman place of Tivoli, but the Tivoli gardens are a lot better known than the original place.

The Nissan Terrano where terrible for rust it's the same as a Ford Mavrick. The audi a4 wheel caps I had a set made for me in 3d printer because they where so expensive. Tool of the week baffled me there where none of them car's left😂😂😂 👍🤙

Look into snow foam and TFR. They both contain caustic soda and will remove anodising, cause rust and darken aluminium. Maybe this is why the hub caps degraded, CV boot failed and steering parts are very rusty.

Hi Jon and Pete another brilliant Pistons! Jon I really don’t blame you hanging on to that K11 it is unrepeatable like buying a brand new one and I like the colour and for your dad to say it’s a lovely car too..
Great discussion and banter as ever and sorry to hear re smart and Audi but both can be fixed so that’s not so bad
I was actually thinking of the 80s Nissan Patrol when your dad said Terrano! I Remember the original Musso I think bertone styled it and the big draw was it had the 3.0 Mercedes diesel out of the E Class and W124 the bulletproof engine probably the best thing!
Sorry you missed out on the MR2 day maybe if it’s nice MR2 could go to rustival as well
