What’s up guys and gals, I’m Kage848. I love to make videos for TH-cam, mostly early access survival games like 7 Days to Die, Empyrion, Raft, Mist Survival, The Forest, and more! I also dabble in City Builders and strategy games like Civilization 5, Civilization 6, Dawn of Man, Stonehearth, Factorio and Rim World. I do at least two videos everyday of mainly tutorials, let’s plays and general gameplay footage. Thanks for watching my videos.
---------------------------------
This Early Access game is not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development.

Being away from the game for a year really shows, Kage. You can splint a sprained leg or arm.
Only if you have the medicine skill
finally, horde base building. I really missed your old seasons which you had build up a self made huge living base with furniture and things
Base building is the whole reason I started watching kage. I know from comments on discord that the fact there's nothing new on base design since alpha 17 has taken out a lot of the joy of horde base building for him. Or, for that matter, that all base designs come down to the same one principle applied with different blocks.
I was going to write this exact post. I kinda preferred when he stopped playing 7DTD altogether in favor of other games. There's only so much questing I can watch, and the building episodes are typically just like a 10 minute segment of putting up bars and then 20 minutes of more questing, especially when the horde base is basically impenetrable by day 14. Not blaming Kage, I guess that's just the game at this point. But I've only gotten through 9 of the 38 episodes in the series and I'm already just waiting for him to start the next game. I miss the base design element a lot. This is basically a nomad game rather than a tower defense game at this point.
I hate to say it, but I think you're going to have a rough horde night with your setup. The zombies heads will be low since they're coming up the stairs - it will be a challenge hitting them. (been there, failed to do that) Also, the spot where you have only 1 scaffolding block is going to be at foot level, where they will 100% try to break through. You may want to consider putting your fighting spot around the corner and leaving a 2x2 landing at the top of the stairs for them.
I think these are valid points, but for a day 7 horde? Supposedly we'll get zombies all night long, but if it's using the same mechanic they used to have them removed it's just going to be a trickle. Cops unlikely, no more than half ferals, maybe dogs, probably vultures, no irradiated. Maybe one or two wights. The biggest risk, IMHO, will be the revamped bikers. I'm going to have my own first horde night today, in the burnt forest!, and I'm excited to see what it will bring. But I'm doubtful this base will cause kage much trouble on day 7. I can hope, though! 😂
Thats a great point. I will adjust the setup
@@dcsobral Fair point about it being first horde. I did have a solid stream of zombies all night, though - no trickle - and Kage has harder difficulty. (I'm 100% vanilla settings) I had no dogs, birds, or cops. Will be interested to see if he gets those.
I'm thinking more of the PITA factor for Kage will be that their heads will likely be unreachable given the stairs hit the bottoms of the scaffold blocks. I can see them breaking that bottom block and crawling into his fighting zone...which wouldn't be terrible (for us).
Believe it or not I'm having issues the a steel hatch hall way they don't like them anymore
I like that now when you jump off the bike it just ghost rides for like 2 miles before stopping.
I've just been using a school as my horde base and so far its been a great place as I've been able to destroy the stairs between the first and second floor and stay on the top floor and snipe them with a crossbow I found. I just finished the day 28 horde and so far they haven't been able to get to me. It may be cheesy to do it that way, but it works for me and keeps me safe and I don't have to worry about them destroying my home base.
I would have turned the Mausoleum that you first wanted to make HQ into a horde base.
"I never use the bow" immediately uses bow lol kage 848
Kage, don't forget to take full advantage of the ability to melee through broken doors... We asked for it and asked for it and finally got it. Don't open a door to get off a melee attack and put yourself at unnecessary risk when you know the zombie is in the next room and you can take it out safely through the door... Distance and barriers are your most powerful tools; especially with this game becoming more difficult. It's almost a necessity to do it when you're doing infestations.
Splits and Casts will make sprains go away faster. If you get the first level of the medical perk, then sprints and sprains will go away instantly with a splint.
They should add in a voice element where if there are zombies nearby they can hear you talking unless you lower your voice/whisper. Would add to the emersion in a huge way.
A Mizer Surpriser Horde night! Not sure if you’re planning to eat the zombies or die on horde night lmao
This generator life got me feeling like I need to build a forge in my backyard.
15:24 there was a wall safe in the clothes closet
Been watching your 7dtd videos since alpha 13 kage. Loving this latest series. Keep up the good content!! 👍
chicken running wild all around the horde base
If you have the first level of Physician, Kage, you can fix a sprained leg with a splint.
If I remember right, you can get mechanical parts from PC's TV's and chairs if I'm memorized and AC units.
But I can't remember for sure
25:52 you missed the helmet light mod from the trader.
Just wanna say I been doing agi builds with bow since I started playing 7dtd so it's my jam. With the right skills and gear it's devastating. I'm still in the middle of my build and doing 5x + stealth damage and can practically trip over a zombie while sneaking before waking it up (not counting the triggered zombie events). Bow/crossbow is still quite viable with a melee backup.
I don't know if you saw GNS showcase the assassin's set bonus, but at max level the zombies will forget you as soon as they lose line of sight! I'm doing a Perception/Agility build and I've noticed the knife looks quite OP. I installed a mod to show health bars of the zombies and I've seen it regularly do massive amounts of damage, far higher than the stats suggest and far higher than the spear. Oh, and you forgot to mention that a hit from the bow/crossbow will often stagger zombies, giving you time to switch weapons and space to back off. Plus, the zombie will have lost most of it's hp, even if you didn't kill it.
@dcsobral I saw highlights of the showcase. Having a 10mo old it's been a hot minute since I got to play 7dtd so a lot has changed. The assassins set bonus is nice but I can't justify giving up preachers gloves for it.
@@gravdigr27 For a stealth build, I think it's fine. The sneak damage gets 60%, and sneak damage is already WAY higher than normal damage anyway. And with that set bonus you can sneak attack even loot room zombies. Trigger, get out, then get back to kill them because they will all have forgotten you already.
The lighting isn't too bad until the fog comes in in the lower levels
cars, appliances and like are Wrench targets for mechanical parts.
streetlights are a source for Steel as are broken Vending Machines.
Radiators are great for Brass
Clocks as well for Mech parts.
Horde defense in vanilla really is simple, though. All you need is 1 2-block pathway spikes / blade traps and barbed wire / electric posts to slow them.
A 1 block opening to make them think they can get to you and you melee or gun them down using doors and hatches to control the angles of attack.
That's why I love mods like DF and UL, you really gotta WORK to survive horde nights.
What are you going to do about vultures in the horde base? Electrical and mechanical parts are mostly logical. If it uses electricity, it gives electrical. If it has moving parts, it gives mechanical. The first level in Medicine (whatever that skill is called) instantly heals sprains with splints. You can hurt your leg with any drop of 6 or more blocks. And don't ever jump down instead of just walking off the edge.
Great video mate
With a full Rogue kit sneak is great.
Kage848 goes bong bong bong on zombies.
"Everything's dead". Everything was dead when you got here. They're zombies 😂😂😂😂
Not reinforced but locked doors are meant to be broken into.
I've tried a few games. From plenty of food and water to starving/dehydrated.
Crossbows were always better for sneak attacks but maybe that's the only viable bow build now
00:15:48 you missed the safe on the wall in the closet
btw if you dont clear out the stuff in boxes or whatnot that you have searched it wont respawn til server reset so you are losing out on drops start throwing itg on the ground instead of leaving it there
I think TFP have balanced it so tightly now that you are forced to mostly upgrade when you can to stay competitive, and you get punished for trying to skip levels to save resources.
At 15:44 there was a safe in the closet you overlooked.
The bow WILL kill a feral. Of course, if you keep using a level 1 primitive bow with stone arrows that's another story. Judy upgrading to iron arrows will suffice.
Don't know if they made fall/drop damage odds less forgiving, JaWoodle posted an episode yesterday where he also got injured from what seemed like a fall about the same height (or even slightly lower), and he was just as surprised as you were...
Kage jumped off the roof. Which means he jumped up one additional block, and when he landed it was past that one block high little mound at the base of the ladder. if he had just walked off the roof, he would have landed on the mound, a five block drop and safe. By jumping he had a seven block drop and sprained his leg. Chance of sprain starts at six blocks.
Jawoodle is a muppet. First, he dropped not on the ground next to the house, but on the ground that was one level down. Second, he JUMPED off the roof! The game is way more unforgiving when you do that. Any of the two things would do. Safe fall distance is 5m, the usual level of second floors. Anything above that has a change of injury. He likes building 7m high, and then hurts himself falling from that distance and acting surprised. He then "tests" it by falling once or twice without taking damage, completely unaware of the concept of "chance". I love him, but it's not the first time and he just refuses to accept the safe fall distance.
I built my horde base here in alpha 20 its an easy good structure to build on and the possibilties are endless
Awesome video! Instead of building your own hoard base could you just continue reinforcing buildings to make a base. Im not that creative with building bases. I've watched 7 days to die gamplay videos but now that its full release on console I can actually play.
kage can you do one restore power quest I wanna see the quest and rewards and love the vid..
I will never pass up the Beaker that was available as a quest prize option at the end of the video! #Uncraftable
Btw guys be carefull in any poi dont get cocky.. i had like 2 hours before night time so i took tier 1 clear ( i am doing normally tier 5 infestations) and i got cocky did not see trapped floor and i fell in the middle of 7 green ferals and died xD
He ignored a safe in the vaecon residence and last episode the safe in the cartel, are safes not good anymore???
I love the content
i have a hard time crouching and moving is there a way to toggle crouch?
On a keyboard the default is Left Ctrl. On a game controller I have no idea.
Again, take cars apart for mechanical parts lol
I have been but im looking for other thing that give them too
Does anyone know what World....Area this is ???
Around 21 minutes, it was a bit dark
500th like 🎉
Dont know why. But your Video Quality is kinda bad to look at
Even others at 1080p have better Video Quality... Dont understand that
But its mostly when you move around its bad.
When you move around the weapon is fine looking but all other stuff around you kinda losing its sharpness and murky
Dont know if its your video graphics settings. Or the Program you using to Record with or what
But again You still the best 7 Days to Die "Lets Play" Guy!!!!!
And you was the first one I saw. Back to Alpha 9 or 10 I think it was
That's why I keep comming back to you! The best one every! And because you Name is = Cake in Danish (;
Just wish the Video Recording Quality could be a little bit more shaper
That sounds like motion blur. I'd be surprised if kage has that on, but who knows? I know he has been fiddling with video settings to improve FPS and quality.
@@dcsobral Ewww, no i dont use motion blur lol. All my settings are ultra or high. 7 DTD has always had pixalation issues on videos when you move, especially in grass. I use OBS and Adobe Pro, like everyone else and use high settings when rendering. It does not look bad like that untill its uploaded on TH-cam.
for me is far to dark......so difficult to see
I can confirm that TH-cam over several instances have tampered with @kage848's videos to make it look like he broke his leg. He even took it to court at some point, but are still avaiting the verdict.
