  • Stacey’s interview with the one and only Jerry Reed continues, as they dig into Jerry’s latest and greatest passion - working the Wounded Warriors charity, the importance of family in his life, his just finished Christmas single “Christmas at the Mall”, his guitar collection and finally some more tales about his early days in Nashville doing session recordings with Chet Atkins.

What a gem of an interview. Jerry was a huge part of American fun and freedom. I saw him years ago in the early 2000’s. Stacy, you rock too. Awesome!!!

I started donating to the Wounded Warriors after my husband died 9 years ago when I took over the house hold finances. I saw he would donate once or twice a year to VFW . I happened to get something in the mail about the Wounded Warriors. I found out the good things they do for our service people that the government doesn't. I've donated every month since. It's not much $15 a month but I don't get alot from social security. But to me, they are the most deserving people in this country! The other is St Jude, because they take care of our most precious family members and don't charge a dime to the families! Loved this Jerry Reed interview! ❤️

Jerry Reed was such a wonderful man. I have never met him but I know people who have. Mr. Jerry you will never be forgotten. The other man I really miss is Waylon Jennings. 2 legends right there.

I got to meet Jerry, Waylon and Jessie Coulter when they did the Maxwell House Tour in 1983. Greatest night of my life as I was and still am a huge Jerry Reed fan. That's who I went to the concert to see. Jerry and I had fun, interesting conversation. He really was a nice, down to earth man.

Thx a Bunch Stacey for sharing. Jerry was a great, "loveable", man. There will never be another man with such love & full of life as the Snowman himself. Loved the interviews. He is truly missed. R.I.P. Jerry.

Thanks for this. Loved Jerry guitar playing and acting, especially Snowman in Smokey. His Snowman seemed like mostly Jerry Reed and nothing wrong with that. His involvement with WW Project was interesting & seems to have been an important part of his life. Inspiring to say the least ! Certainly glad he got the opportunity to share his comedic acting ability with all of us. Now that he and others are gone, all we have is movies and interviews like this to remember him by. Appreciate this !

I definitely miss Jerry Reed. I learned even more about him through these interviews. You could also call him a comedian. He could put a funny twist on everything he was doing.
Thanks for doing this interview and I am glad that he shed some light on the hardships that our veterans are facing.

Pure gold. I saw him at a Chet Atkens, Floyd Cramer, Boots Randolph and Jerry Reed concert in Fort Worth Texas as a kid. It was pure magic.
Thank you for showing what a great man Jerry was and what was important to him as it should be for all of us.
    Truly thank you sir.

Stacy is my favorite gearhead and it's so cool he was able to meet Jerry. My wife and I used to deliver pizzas in our 84 z28 we have a cb in there and had some friends who had cb radios we kind of brought them back in style for a little bit here in Michigan and we always jammed Jerry every single time

Stacey I just saw this interview. Jerry Reed was awesome! I love his story about working with the vets. I think all these huge bands of the 80s should be visiting vet hospitals and singing songs with guitars to vets. Imagine Brian Johnson and Angus Young carrying a guitar just walked in to visit vets. How about Garth Brooks? I remember when Jerry was guest star on the TV show Mel’s Dinner. He went fishing with Mel. Caught a huge fish. It was amazing. Smokey and the Bandit was one of my all time favorites. I had a 1972 Trans Am in HS. We watched Smokey and the Bandit in drivers Ed in HS. Our teacher was cool! 1980. Amazing man Jerry was. Thanks so much for posting. I’m a fan of your TV show as well. I have a very clean 66 Chevelle conv I built. I play guitar as well. I hope to meet you at a car show someday. All the best!

Obviously nobody can play Jerry like Jerry. Chip Young, great Nashville session player said as much. He was a great finger picker but couldn't duplicate Jerry. But Chip did the intro to Dolly's hit Jolene. That's hard to duplicate also. He and Jerry were close friends. Look for an interview with him on the Musicians Hall of Fame page.

& ever since I started to play, I've been a Gibson/Les Paul Nutt - but it's just SHAMEFUL how Gibson treated you when the "Reed Model" was proposed... I would buy one just on PRINCIPAL. Everybody uses a Tele on "EB&D", & that's pretty consistent with what electric guitar he's usually seen with but here's PROOF of those double "Pauls". 😉
