Long Shaft Outboard on a 15" Transom (Can it be Done?)

I always thought the cavitation plate is the plate just above the prop on the lower unit. Marine mechanic since 1973

Thank you for your kind comments and support. I was measuring from the wrong fin on the motor as you could see that first trip out.
