I enjoy Stewart's videos. But Reindeer(caribou) digging through snow are not eating moss(plants): They are eating lichens. Science, especially DNA analysis, has shown that lichen are not plants but fungi. Yes, there are chloroplasts, but in an acknowledgment of the primary kingdom, all scientific names of lichen are now fungi names. Reindeer are the only larger mammal that can digest lichens, uniquely having an enzyme that converts lichen elements to glucose for nourishment.
