The Man...and his Soul...the song performed BEAUTIFULLY by Ray Charles. Heard it hundreds of times. What brought me to TEARS was watching Ray feeling the power of the crowd moving right through his very same Soul he brought out that evening. TRULY one of the World's gifts. The end of this clip is gold...Sir Ray, basking in the glory of a great moment in time
Roger Reso II Agree. It was like watching him embrace all the love around him and loving them back.
Reading his lips saying that's alright!! And that smile tells the story
Angel Cho yes ,,
Holy crap. I'm crying
He was not blind to beauty....listening to this....I felt he allowed us to hear the soul of America. He was, and still IS the best of us.. oh yeah!! oh YEAH!!!!
Back in the days when America was actually united.
Amerikkka has NEVER been united
@@Prettybrown2293 Not with indoctrinated Marxists trash like you we can't.
@@Prettybrown2293you’re a LIAR…
I love it how at the end he is so overwhelmed by the energy of the crowd and he cant even see
Don’t be fooled Ray saw more than most people with vision!!! Because he saw and felt with his heart!
Who doesn't cry when watching this? Even 23 years later...
I don't care how long ago it was. WE still owe ourselves and this Country that we love the Very best!!!
It just never gets old! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
When I retired after over 30 years in the US Navy in 2005, a version of Ray Charles America the Beautiful was played at the Retirement Ceremony, I have always loved his version of this beautifu song. God Bless America and God Bless Ray Charles
Thank you for your service!
Gênio...Fantastico! Sempre REY...nunca Esquecerei......

I MISS All of US being Americans ...
Then came the coward trump
That's literally what leftists want for EVERYONE to be treated like fellow Americans and just have acsess to social service to make sure everyone is cared for equally. This always makes me cry seeing so many different Americans coming together.

What has happened to America loving patriots like Ray Charles?
What has happened to America?
Goosebumps.
shoulda been the National Anthem.......
wow! classic never lost his voice!
Ray Charles, beyond reach during his lifetime and forever.
No Terror, no battle nor war, no Rockets and bombs. No flag.
Instead spacious skies, brotherhood and freedom.
THIS is what I recall, the anthem I like.
Someday i will come around and see it all again.
What a beautiful country you folks
have.
I felt those same goosebumps...😱
cayogator I feel you bro
I sure do wish we were still as proud of this country as we used to be. God bless America.
Me too
Trump messed it all up
I have to come back and watch this from time to time, it makes me cry everytime. He wasn't nothing nice.
September 2001 , A time where we were left in destruction where darkness covered this earth. But unity in America brought us together to keep warmth everybody was patriotic!
Everybody set aside Politcal, Religious and self opinions!
Please Even if you are Democrats or Republicans let's have this again!
To the Trump Haters Grow up.
To the Trump Lovers Grow up.
UNITED WE STAND!
Amen!
You said it brother.....Pearl Harbor, September 11th spanning generations of unity! Where are we now? 107,000 Covid deaths, inequality in this day and again! God Bless America!
Typo...in this day and age!
Yes indeed my brother
The way our beloved country stood fearlessly in unified allegiance was one of the most beautiful things I have ever witnessed in my life. I remember what it was like to be able to cheer for our country and even that of our President. Of course, not every American liked President George W Bush, but back then we found a way to be able to agree to disagree. Today in 2020 people pledge more of an allegiance to their political party's than they do to their very own country. Our country is in desperate need of reconciliation - united we stand, divided we fall. No doubt about it - we are falling. And it is heartbreaking. I'm so glad that Mr. Charles didn't have to see what America has become today.
Perhaps the greatest voice of all time. That soul has never been matched.
I was 11 years old and 9/11 was still fresh in our minds and this brought the fire back to all our souls. This was a time when we all united. Thank you Ray.
If this doesn’t leave you in tears than you don’t know what you missed.
With tears in my eyes I gotta say that was one of the most moving moments anytime, anywhere! Thanks Ray indeed!!
YEEES RAY CHARLES PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN, AND PROUD TO SERVE AND PROTECT HOOOAAAAAH.❤❤❤❤
How in the HELL could 87 people not like this?
Can’t explain or understand A$$ HOLES
The reason why i believe this didn't become out national anthem was because no one could sing this with more passion and beauty then Ray Charles himself.
Vang2487 true...I don't want to hear anyone else sing it
that is a very very solid point.
This was just after September 11, 2001. I joined the Marine Corps 2 years before and was on leave kickin with my family watching this. This was before everyone started getting all bullshit patriotic. He knew what was up and his beautiful ass checked out before anybody could tell him what to do. Them sure was some days.
Love me some Ray Charles! A man using his God given talents to bless us and honor the Lord.
Ray Charles was a gift … and this was his gift to us .
Absolutely NOBODY ever did this song better
That's how it should be done. RIP Mr. Charles

This is one of the most beautiful, American things I’ve ever seen and I love it.
This man is the epitome of the American dream an an absolutely amazing human being. Despite all odds against him, millions whom would have him minimized, he rose to be the most inspirational person I’ve ever had the honor of watching.
"That's all right" were the last words I saw him mouth! Tears in my eyes...Miss You Ray!!! RIP
Rest in peace : Ray Charles...He'll never be forgotten
The Man...and his Soul...the song performed BEAUTIFULLY by Ray Charles. Heard it hundreds of times. What brought me to TEARS was watching Ray feeling the power of the crowd moving right through his very same Soul he brought out that evening. TRULY one of the World's gifts. He shows us that in spite of all the problems of childhood, through adulthood, we can all love our Country, our fellow Man, and one day bring Peace to the World.
WOW!!!
Powerful you show the wrong
Excellent powerful
That's beautiful what you said
Most beautiful song in history. America the beautiful. The world's envy and hope. Ray Charles, we love you sir.
As Howard Cosell said after Ray performed this song at the start of the Sugar Ray Leonard -Roberto Duran fight back in 1981 ....if this doesnt touch a nerve or put a chill up your spine then nothing will...Amen to that Howard
Greg McLean First time I heard him sing it was that fight and it has been with me ever since..
Im going to check that out
God Bless Are Great Nation And All Those Brave Men And Women Who Stand And Protect Old Glory Long Live The United States Of America 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Beautiful, perhaps we should all see with our souls, rather than our eyes. Amazing musician.
Hello
Such a beautiful song and it has a special place in my heart❤️, Can I ask you a question please?Nina
This song brings more joy than ever today. Such a beautiful performance from him.
Ah yes...The Impeccable Mr. Ray Charles, never be another like him. May his beautiful soul shine on forever through his music.
We’ve gone from having pride in this country and trying to make it better to so many people hating it and wanting to destroy its freedoms. We are so far astray in this country in 2023.
Sure do miss the days of unity and entertainers loving on America.
No red. No blue. Just red blooded Americans standing hand in hand.
Just beautiful.
