Hey Kinstruction, thanks for your content and especially the VODs. I'm currently watching minute 110 and have a quick suggestion: overclock your coal power plants to 100MW (=1 power shard). That way, the ratio between power plant and water pump becomes 2:1. For each power plant, water consumption is 60 and coal consumption 20. Much nicer numbers than this crappy 8:3. Probably only relevant for your next season. Keep it up!
I do like overclocking power generating buildings. Its the best thing to cover clock in the game. I shied away from doing that because A: I didn't have a lot of shards, and B: a lot of players watching me wont have a lot either. But its a great solution and now with summersloops, its possible to get a ton of shards in the game very early.

Hmm, I don't think the belt behaviour changed. That "hitching" you're talking about happens when you have a manifold saturated - it happens when the machines (not) take in new items. A completely full belt wouldn't hitch if there's just a lower level belt in the line - it just goes slower. You either notice the speed or see the gaps on the belt AFTER the lower segment.
No, I think it changed, but not in the way I thought it did during this VOD. It still hitches in 1.0, but under different circumstances. Before 1.0 if I slowed down a mark II with a mark 1 in front of it, the mark II would hitch, now, the entire mk2 slows to the speed of the mark I, which I'm sure didn't happen in U8.

In this case the only thing "hitching" is the miner itself - it would be operating at around 50%. The hitching you talk about happens when machines are stopping even the 60 belt completely because none of them are taking in more input in that very moment.
I'm fairly certain that in update 8 the materials traveled at mark 2 speed until they hit a mark 1 belt. Then they'd slow to the mark 1 speed. So it would be jerky, going from 120 to 0 to 120 to 0 so fit 120 per min to 60 per min. I could be wrong, but this threw me so bad when it was live, makes me think it wasn't like this before. Maybe I can find a vid or vod that shows me finding an un-upgraded belt and fixing it. And seeing what it does to the line.
@@Kinstruction There could absolutely be hitching if say between the 1st and second machine you have a 60 belt on the manifold, and the 1st machine gets full - but then it's hitching between the smooth 60 speed and 120 whenever the 1st machine takes in more. That's all there is to it since.... update 6 it was I think I first started playing. I WAS talking to the screen telling you to check those belts 'cause they look slow. Didn't you hear it? :D

Yea, its always a balance. I try to interact, but my main goal is to focus on the build. I do make edited down versions of these VODs that cut out that interaction if you're interested.
I found the SAM cave by accident....as in - falling into it! yes i died by big spider bites..... went back and claimed that SAM for my own. downside is trying to get it out by going up w/ conveyor lifts or wind belts back out of the cave.
anyone builld this beside me for some reason only 2 of the machines are filling up out of the 16 the rest dont keep the coal long enough the belt splits them both ways but the machines besides the 2 middle ones have 100 reast have 0 as fast as they get the coal it leaves
Just triple check your belt speeds. Sounds like there might be a mark I in there somewhere. If you came to my discord and post some pics in the satisfactory talk channel, someone in my community or myself will help you figure it out.
5:21:31 why hasnt satisfactory not done what so many other factory do when machines are being belt fed and just limit the size of the stacks down what the machine needs? That way the first machine on the belt isnt sucking up 500 resources when it only needs 20. I get trying to be unique and that but features are a thing in so many games across the board for a reason. because they work and solve problems like this.
it's the high fov, it makes look things further away than they are and that then makes it look like you're going faster like the opposite of when you look through a telephoto lens while walking makes you look go really slow.

Yea, as the series progresses, I slowly turn the FOV down, get my self used to it. lol.
