We are all imperfect and sinners, but there is huge difference between acting in accordance with God and acting against God's teachings
Just because someone doesn't believe, it doesn't mean that person thinks life is pointless. Not to mention, if you check statistics, you find out many religious person also answered the "what's the purpose of life" question "nothing". So it's not a religion thing. Most people just can't answer the question. It's all.
It gives me comfort to know that one day evil will be judged.
"Only if there is a God, will the bastard who molested him get punished." Great response!
I disagree. First, if the goal is to bring punishment or suffering to the molester, this can occur in many ways. For example, this person could be brought to justice the law. This renders this statement factually incorrect. Furthermore, If humanity punishes those who do wrong, we cause more suffering than if we were to help both the victims and wrongdoers. Thus, this statement and its underlying assumptions are incorrect. I do not know the criterion you use to evaluate a great response, but by metrics of truth it is invalid.
@@AmberAlbright84 There is no justice in this life. Please be tolerant of those of us who hope for justice at a Judgement Day.
To use a cliche phrase, Wolves in sheep's clothing. Standing in church doesn't make you a good or religious person. Bad people hide behind religion and even use it as a tool to commit evil acts. That doesn't mean you write off religion as a whole. I hope God grants your friend what he needs to fully heal from the things that happened to him.
I Agree... ❤❤❤
God Bless America 🙏❤️🇺🇸
Free will is a blessing and a curse.
Kinda reminds me of a quote from Dr. Frank Turek,”If someone were to play a piece of music from Beethoven, but do it poorly who would you blame? Would you blame Beethoven, or the person who’s playing?”
Top tip when watching for evildoers in religious disguises: trust your instincts. If not your physical instincts, your spiritual instincts.
I was molested as a child then later raped twice as an adult. God IS the ONLY thing that got me through.
God never told them to do these things.
No god helped you. You and prob proffesionals helpt you.
@@jimUkayno god spoke to anyone.
You don’t have to thank god for your own strength. It is YOU that pushed through despite everything
If you were penetrated, then you were also raped as a child. I don't know why people changed the word molested for only children. But yes, having God in your life is the only way to get through it.
It's great to hear that. You made it through with our Lord and savior.
God bless!❤
Side note. I was molested all through a lot of my youth. There has always been a fact that if God wasn't by my side, I would be likely a very wicked person to this day.
Liberty and Justice for all, is not limited to the Willing.
If evil was done by a religious person, the the person was not a true Christian!
The answer is to forgive the person that harmed you.
Well said. I was brought up evangelical, and one problem I have with my faith is the idea that people like that molester are "not true Christians." How about this - maybe some Christians are evil, and God judges people based on how they behave, rather than what they believe. Likewise, the atheist who was molested may be rewarded by God, if he really is such a good person. Jewish people, like Dennis, don't say, "That evil man isn't really Jewish." Because what matters most is not whether you're Jewish, Christian, or non-religious, but how you act. After all, the cops don't give a damn what you think of them. So long as you do right, they'll let you be. I like to think of God as being like the American justice system, but better. Everything good about our system, without the worry of false convictions, evildoers getting off the hook, and so on.
The answer is simple. The "religious" person wasn't Religious. They were a liar who abused a system to do their nefarious deeds. There is a lot to unpack about religion. However, in general, most of them have the same simple value of being nice to your neighbor.
It's because satan knows more of the Bible in more. The wastes twisted than we do. That evil is presented through human beings. And we are already flawed. So there are many, probably more than 50 percent of people that claim to love God, that actually are doing the deeds of satan. It's the best way to get people to turn against God. For satan to have people say they love God, then to Burn Others to wickedness.
no true scotsman
Do I want to see people happy? Of course. But hands-down, I want to see people saved in order to spend all of eternity with Jesus in heaven over temporary happiness.
Why do you think “ life is pointless” for people who don’t believe in a god or gods? That’s your opinion, not a fact.
@@bonnieschmidt5882 Not that life is pointless for them, quite the opposite. This life is all there is for them, it's as good as it gets. Why do you think life without heaven after has to be pointless? Shouldn't it be more meaningful if that's the case?
Pray hard for people like Dennis that are jewish.
They do not believe Jesus Christ is their savior. 😞
Sounds very preachy to me. Not everyone wants to be "saved" and you'll have to respect that.
@@Standupforyour_rights Just because everybody doesn't want to end up in heaven at the end. It doesn't mean saved people don't want to try to help people get saved so they can go to heaven.
Trust me, you do not want the alternative.
Jesus Christ has me through it. My heart is comforted even though I had been hurt.
God Bless you
I would choose to be plugged into such a machine. The only reason you wouldn't is because you're looking at the situation from the outside. If you were in the machine, you'd be satisfied with your situation...because that's what the machine does, by definition.
One shouldn't discount the existence of God or the value of religion based solely on the morality of religious leaders, just as one shouldn't dismiss medical advances due to researchers' ethics, the merits of education because of teachers' conduct, or the importance of laws based on the moral character of judges or legislators.
Medical Science is often the victim of Ethics, as is Education. What God was this child taught to worship, that Atheism gives better answers?
I thought Megan's arm was no longer with the show?
Same here.
All we can do is point out the fact that that was that person not the entire religion or race or gender, etc & be there for them. Beyond that it's up to each person.
God decided to CREATE Life not robots by giving us Free Will/Choice. What we've done w/ it leads to 😇 👹
I attest to that, my dad always pull the white lie.
The only thing that matters is your relationship with God our Creator which includes following HIS direction as your Shepherd. Religion is of Man.
Dennis the issue is it is so many abuses and mishandling ocurs in religiousgroups. Also Christian believe that Jesus died for our sins and thus the monster if he believes in Jesus will be in heaven. That is not justice, in my opinion justice needs to be carried out on earth.
Also a god that would punish a moral good person for not believing in them is an small insecure god unworthy of worship.
I disagree with his interpretation of the point of the reading from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. It wasn't choosing to not be robots, but was about humans choosing experiential knowledge of evil.
Is Denis back?
The action of molesting is bad. So is rape. While that is true, i also think the rise of mental disorder among the minors is partly due to the protecting the children mandate and the term minors. In 1998, when it was introduce locally, me a 16 15 yo teenager didn't care because i thought once i finally reach 18 i will be free. I was wrong because minors now include young adults. I obey the law but the law never respect human once it is enforce.
You shouldn't deny God, but you should learn to be very skeptical of "religious" people. The more they display their religiosity, the more likely it is a cover. I learned that the more someone spouted scripture, the less I should trust them.
And it is common when the police pick up someone who has done the most evil of crimes for their to be a Bible in the backseat that they cling to when accountability is coming.
We live in a republic and everyone is equal almost. All sinners we are and religious people are no different.
How would this presenter deal with Jehovahs Witnesses whose own written material explains that 'untruths' are approved by God if to get someone into their group or to keep them from leaving. (No exaggeration, I have read these myself and used to have copies of it).
They would not be alone. Many use untruths about Latter-day Saints to keep would be investigators away.
But lies are the devil's tools. Hence "whosoever maketh and loveth a lie" will go to hell.
You dont think life is pointless cos no god exist. The god of yours isnt a good moral compass. Life isnt better cos you believe.
You're right to be peeved off about sexual abuse of *anybody* especially children, Denis; if you were NOT angry about that: I'd wonder about your humanity; that alone is positive proof of *sanity* on your part.
Yet that kind of thing: that can easily delete any capacity to believe in any god at all; so He knowing that wouldn't even consider that requirement valid- and may even determine that those who *have* believed in Him and wound up declared to be in Heaven be cast out into Hell given that kind of misguided assessment ever! And I learned that basic analysis of how that's to be dealt with: bad acts by His agents: that does mean that belief in any god at all is secondary at most to how you treat your *human neighbors* according to Him, and that got into me *from* one of His priests in instruction on issues; he brought it up himself in fact that in such a case, literally all commandments involving treatment of God automatically pass away; and He just plain disappears as it were into just one of your neighbors, so it would be with that man: *IF* the two beings met, He would intervene as just one of that man's many neighbors!
