Hahaha so true. It’s fun to bike in areas you’ve been that are far away usually. When you recognize stuff it’s fun.
@@CasandChary I concur, being in a virtually familiar place is a cool experience. Yet I want the scare factor, that's one of the great things I love about VR. The scary games / video experiences , it's almost like training despite I never wanna go through most of the stuff in Fear Simulator but that feeling is so exhilarating!

I just signed up for VZfit last week and am loving it. I especially love the Explorer app. I thought I'd really love cycling anywhere in the world but so far I'm having a blast just cycling in my own area. It's so cool to see places I recognize, and it's just such a great way to keep cycling in winter :-).
Finally got my first VR headset (The Quest) yesterday and I'm already in love! This type of thing was one of the main reasons I wanted one! I'm so excited for future possibilities!
How did you get a VZfit sensor?
Nice and quiet. I watch TV and almost forget I’m using it. It’s helping me to start regularly exercising again and I used to like biking so that’s great.

Years ago there was a device for the PS2 which had a steerable frame for the front tyre and a special controller. It came out before the first TACX Imagic and Fortius machines , it worked with existing games and was kind of fun.
What was it called
I have been dreaming about something like this for years. Cycling on Mars or scenic routes around the world can be done indoors irrespective of the weather outside.

I got mine year ago showed people how set it up it fun work out in VR on VirZoom very fun worth the Price

Iv'e had my VZfit for a couple of months now. Everything was working fine until I connected the "oculus cable link" to my PC. My HMD updated my headset from version_12 to version_14. In version_14 there is an experimental menu / Bluetooth settings tab. The bottom line is that you might have to go into your smartphone ( my is Android) settings and change your security / permissions from personal to "all". Love your channel. Thumbs up Dave

They should make the Tour De France game series compatible. So you can simulate real pro racing. Of course with lower diffs for most people!
I saw this last year and now thinking about trying it out. First I am just trying out looking at 360 youtube vr videos which is ok but the resolution is not that good, a bit better at 2 or 4k but not as clear as you would hope. Problem I found with 360 videos is you have to adjust your front view when the video itself turns. You might want to transfer from VR to looking at the TV instead to give your eyes a rest. Going to buy a cadence sensor and you no longer need the thumb button attachment because you use your quest controller.
Saw another cool program, Zwift takes this to a whole new level and you use a real bicycle with a bicycle trainer that adjusts your speed and resistance based on actual terrain and people race around the world! Doesn't look like a regular fitness bike would work except those expensive ones that are compatible I guess.

I just tried the explorer app (main reason why I got this) and the experience was cool but there is distortion with the scenery while you are biking. Enjoying the scenery is a major part of biking and I wish they could improve that. Maybe even contacting Google for help.

Hardest part of this would be the heat generated by the headset.
Honestly most people don't even notice it, but we do have some users who prefer the Go because it is a little lighter. Average play sessions/workout is between 20 minutes and an hour. You only really notice the headset if your pushing the hour mark, and at that point your head is pretty hot from working out as well! We do recommend a fan when playing both for comfort and because the wind helps add to the sense of presence.
Yeah, it’s a personal thing. Some people sweat more than others, I don’t really feel the heat after 30 min. A fan helps and a nice leather cover that you can clean easily.
Hey, is it possible to listen to music while exploring the virtual world on bicycle? That would be an awesome pass time!
If you get a little hot in a headset just use a floor fan blowing at your head and it will keep you cool.
Very helpful video. One question though. Does the VZFIT Explorer (Google Maps) game require any steering? This "game" really appeals to me. I'm asking because I've tried the VZFIT Play games, like the tanks, horses, etc and I get instant vertigo because the only way to navigate or steer is by head moving and tilting. I just can't do it. I have the prior version by Virzoom which came with a bike as well, and integrated controllers on the handle bars. Very good build quality...but there's that steering dilemma I mentioned.

Another question, the sensor you use, with the small control, where can we find it? I checked the VZFit page but the control they recommend is only the sensor (magene sensor) which we attach to the bike, no small gaming control.

You can buy one of those fans that sit around your neck and blow air up into your face. They sort of look like a snake with a fan on each end, lol.

I own vr Oculus and I can honestly say if you work out in them, you can end up fogging up the lenses throughyourbodymovement, that's a pain then you have to stop & clean your lenses. No thanks
Very personal thing, some people sweat more than others. I haven’t had my lenses fog up in the 3 years I’ve been doing VR, only been working out since the last year or so though. Sad to hear you can’t work out in it! Hopefully in the future we’ll get lighter headsets and better for workouts.
Does it work with an elliptical trainer?
No, only stationary exercise bikes. Would be great to have more apps for different trainers though.

Hey there! Most of the games have multiplayer. Explorer allows you to ride with a friend while most of the the Play games are some version of head to head.
@@VirZOOM thanks! Are there plans to update the device model? I've been looking at reviews and have seen a lot of people complain that the controller battery dies almost everyday.
@@void-citizen the button we are shipping now is a newer model that we started shipping in December. They currently ship with the battery installed from the factory and can turn on during shipping which we are aware of. We include 2 fresh batteries in every package and the battery life on those should be 3-6 months with 40 minutes of use each day. We also do support both the Oculus Quest and Go hand controllers.
I already have an oculus rift s which has the same capabilities as the quest but corded. Do you guys plan on including compatibility with this VR headset as well??
@@yarropeace Unfortunately at this time we are not planning on wired PC support for VZfit. We are keeping track of requests though and as we grow we may go back if there is enough interest.

We usually recommend people get replacement interface for the front , either one from VRcovers or a silicone one on amazon. If you play any physical game in VR you will run into this issue, I know I sweat like a beast play beat saber for an hour!
@@VirZOOM vrcover did not launch it integrated with magnetic plastic cover thing.
We use a leather VR cover that’s easy to wipe. And a fan helps a lot.

She means cadence, not speed: Cadence is measured from the pedals and speed is measured from the wheel/flywheel.
How bout sweating?
I will prob make a whole separate video on this, but I recommend leather covers for easy wipes and a fan.

Also, with that cadence censor it has zero means of determining your effort which makes the whole thing even more pointless.
The graphics are shitty. I like the Bowflex velacore but I don't think it's worth $2,000 and I do not like the monthly subscription that needs to be trashed. But they just need to make videos like that that they put on there and post them online for sale for like $0.99 or a dollar or a dollar 99 or $3. Something like that something really affordable and then have like maybe a VR option that has like very realistic PlayStation 5 graphics not animated and not cartoon you know something where you can travel around the world and look all around and it's more like you're actually really there. But no monthly subscription
