it literally does not matter if its a knock off. they buy one original austin racing, or leovince, or arrow or whatever it may be, they copy it, and re produce it with stainless steel and not titanium. i have a dominator on my bike for like 3k kilometers. everything is ok. no rust, no blown welds, everything is ok

Well I have this exhaust and it's not an exact clone for sure. Actually a little closer to SC project style. If is a great exhaust tho. I like it
They don't clone it exactly lmao, mostly use cheaper metals etc... And Dominator isn't Chinese so I don't know why you brought that up anyways.

A lot of Chinese manufacturers also use TC4 titanium instead of higher quality titanium but a lot of Chinese distributors sell it for the same price as a big name company anyways

I'm the cheap ass that owns this bike, ya'll. 2 things: the previous '21 R1 featured on this dyno made 180hp with a decatted Yoshi exhaust. So I'm far from disappointed with these results. Yeah, this can and maybe even the link pipe will rust out in a few years, who knows, but I can replace this exact setup 8 times for the cost of the yoshi, and I had no intentions on waiting to dyno tune this thing until I could find the $1000 version of this setup in stock anywhere. I'm also just not a fan of how yoshi or 2 bros sounds on this gen r1 to be frank. 2nd, back pressure? What's back pressure? My future plans for this bike don't involve back pressure 😏.
Bottom line is, these fellas made some ridiculousness happen to get rid of the low end throttle jerkiness, and overall throttle response and I'm extremely pleased with the results. Dyno tuning isn't just about peak HP.

I’m with ya!, I got an eBay Austin Racing rep exhaust on my 21 R1 I’m glad I went with that exhaust because I low-sided one cold moist morning and could careless I scraped a $150 exhaust lol luckily nothing else was damaged.

Exactly, these exhuast companies are making A FUCKING KILLING off their name and hyping up th emarket for eachother(voodoo and Coffman especially with their basic ass tiny pieces of metal exhuast fetching $500+) back pressure is highly overrated and mythically over stated online. There are so many people running with zero back pressure shorty exhausts that its insane. Ive seen boats with v8s run Zoomies for 30+ years and still run great lol

I have this same set up on my 21 MT10 and I couldnt be any happier! Sounds awesome the power gain is obvious! Id rather spend the money on the tune! And it breathes FIRE!

I ran danmoto for years. Had to use a socket to spread the pipe some for muffler to slip on, but other than that, no long term term issues.
I like the low deep sounds.
Just got my ecu back from you yesterday and couldn’t be any happier, the best customer service I’ve ever experienced talking to you personally on the phone troubleshooting my fuel pump issue, can’t wait to feel this power at wide open throttle!

@@twowheeljoer1598 I have a zx6r but it sat for a long time before I bought it off my buddy, Chris told me it’s a 100% the fuel pump if you try giving it gas and basically liek hitting a brick wall and doesn’t wanna go past a certain point cause the fuel cannot be delivered
I was gonna do two wheel dyno works but this guy is so up front about the whole process and makes it less confusing for someone’s first ecu flash. I’m going with Moore mafia now
I don't think slip ons make much difference, between a fake one and a real one. Full exhaust on the other hand, you have to buy the real thing, just my humble opinion. Good video like always.
Appreciate the content and all the variety of bike you show. I'm out in Colorado and have an R1S with a Yos 3/4 exhaust and power commander. Can't lie I have been considering the replica AR exhaust and getting a tune instead of the power commander. I did see a recent video of you tuning an R1S. Subscribed!
How much hp with powercommander did u get?
@@livetborjarefter1504 You won't see major horsepower gains with a power commander. Its more to help the air/fuel & timing ratios. Makes the throttle more responsive and overall a smoother ride. Think of it like an advanced servo-buddy. You'll still have the majority of restrictions that come from the factory.

People can somehow tell the difference between an orchestra playing terrible low-talent music, and a high quality orchestra, but can't tell the difference between an obnoxious exhaust tone and a quality exhaust tone. It's like a guitar with the distortion and loudness absolutely maxed out, rather than possessing talent to make clean subtle tones at an acceptable volume.

I love the R1 but was blown away seeing that ECU right behind the left fairing! It just doesn't seem like a safe spot IMO. They must of ran out of space everywhere else. Awesome video bro!🔥🔥🔥
My 09 has the ECU located in the same location as well. I reason that yamaha put it there on purpose to make it easy to access on the track, which is what Yamaha designs this bike for? Or maybe they ran out of room lol
@Patrick Mccoy Hey bro does it clip on to the frame or does it sit loose behind the fairing? I'm sure the engineers have a good reason why they put it there.

I just got the sc knock off. It sounds way better than the $40 Amazon straight pipe that was on it. Running it with the baffle. All of my decel popping went away. Only prob I have is..... The hotter the bike gets, the louder the exhaust gets. It runs super smooth at 4,000. Runs really shifty below that. 8,000 rpm and above. It's super quiet.

Professor Moore/ Moore Mafia chk this out. Retired roll racer, who made some of the best roll racing videos. (Outspokentiger) His R1M made something like 185-188 hp lowered, slip on, tuned by him. He beat a lot of people watch his videos. Now can you imagine this customer comes back full exhaust, Sprint filter, bearings, re tuned. Those numbers are nice right now w minimum. Good job

I have a knock off akra on my fz09 and it was $400 cheaper. Held up super well for the past 2 years now and about 10k miles. Makes the same power too
I feel like Akra is a stock can company now lol, they all sound too quiet to me imo

Have you modified ignition map a lot? I have an unrestricted EU model w/ tuned AFR and ETV, KN filter and decat, but only got about 170 on dyno.
Just curious Chris. Is it the same price for ecu flash for older bikes like a08 zx10 and a newer one like 2020zx10. Or is it all the same price.
My question to you... The decel pops are good to the bike or bad for the bike... I have been reading so much mix opinion on decel popping and backfiring while decel and most of them are saying it is bad for the engine. I would like to get a experts opinion than some random dude on a forum... Thanks

Hey Chris just bought a 22 Hayabusa if I was looking to get it tuned can I do just send in the ECU get it back & it's good to go or do I have to come in person for it to get tuned.
Nice gains for the money. I would only be worried about welds holding up over the years if bike kept for a long time

Ahhh yes the Ebay special exhaust. So many people go the ebay/chinese long tube headers for 5.0 mustangs because they do the same exact thing as the $900 ones. Granted I like to support USA made and small business but sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do for them horpowers

Hey chris just a question for the decel fuel cut off,is it true that except the cracking and pops it is also used to reduce the jerkiness when you quick open the throtle again if you have closed it because the injectors dont stop spraying and it eliminates that jerky movement?And also does it harm the valves or anything engine-wise?

In the low rpms when they first came out I used to turn my head expecting a ws6 trans am with an ls, sounds very close at times with certain exhaust and rpm under little load, unbelievably close really

I had that same mid pipe with a SC knockoff, even with ear plugs my ears were still screaming after about 20 minutes of casual riding. It sounds good but they're absolute trash. Just put the stock muffler on a decat mid and you'll be better off.
Does the older generation bike ecu limits throttle as well? I have a 2005 zx12r stock ecu.
They have ignition timing restrictions.
picked up a 2010 cbr1000 with a knock off exhaust anything over 4000rpm is antisocial as fuck lol and warmup idle 2000rpm sounds pretty intense also. it does have decat also
brand won't matter. if it's a good/exact copy, it will have the same performance and sound as the original.

Indeed it does.
Yes, and I found that once I installed the decatted link pipe, take-off throttle response was super jerky once the bike warmed up. Got rid of that too. But yes, now when you snap off the throttle at high rpm the bike isn't trying to throw you off as much.

The same. It';s basically a straight pipe. Austin racing, and many of the SC Projects are really nice, perfectly welded exhaust tips... lol
There won;t be a noticeable difference between that $200 can and a $1000 Austin Racing can. If the length and diameter is the same, it will perform the same.
Honestly, I hate how they sound. There is no baffling in there, its just open pipe, and if thats the case, why spend so much money?
I went with the decat link pipe and kept my stock muffler, and I got 182hp on the same dyno... So the difference is within the margin of error, really...
Slipon is mostly looks and sound.Replacing the stock headers is the biggest benefit to the exhaust system.The exhaust gas will only move as fast,as the stock header permits it to.You can still gain horsepower just by removing the restrictions and flashing the ECU.
@@jakoidtonge yup. I got a cheap decat link pipe off eBay and had Chris flash and tune it and got almost the same result as this bike.
@@SquireSCA correct, only couple differences you might notice with a slipon paired with a link pipe,without a flash.The bike will feel a little more responsive,and a bit more torquey.But that's on a case by case basis.Some bikes respond well to bolt ons,and some dont,unless you flash the ecu.

Not gonna worry about 5hp one way or the other when it’s already over 180 at the wheel…. Won’t make me any faster in the mtns or the track…. I am the limiting factor at this point…

There is a good loud, and a bad loud. SC Project, Austin Racing, Toci... Those are bad louds. They might look pretty, but they sound stupid, IMHO.
I know it. I call these stupid systems "Soup can exhaust" because that's essentially what they are. You hollow out a soup can and weld it to the end of straight pipe and call it "Austin Racing" or "SC Project" or some other stuff.
The tone is terrible. The loudness is obnoxious. The raspiness and metallic sounds are cringe. They are a waste of money, even in the knock-off give-China-your-dollars-and-complain-about-the-government systems.
The power is made in the shape of tuned HEADERS. Expensive exhausts invest in hydro-forming technology to shape the cross-section and profile of header pipes to most optimally flow hot gasses. You don't get that from cheap Ebay trash.
Is that why top fuel cars and bikes all run mufflers? Oh wait, they don’t!!

I’ve been looking around and if the end cap didn’t discolor this would prob be the best exhaust to get on a budget. That’s the only thing I’m seeing that’s messed up on these.

Actually, no. Iol my clutch lever is an ASV I stole off my 09, but the brake lever is stock. I realized 2 nights before this video it wasn't interchangeable. I'm gonna have to make one of those "Noone will ever know" tik tok videos I guess.

Perhaps. But I spent approx $680 on a Racefit Titanium slip-on and it sounds like shit. Obnoxiously loud and no back-pressure at all. Removed that $680 POS after 6 miles and a massive earache. Replaced it with an intermediate pipe and put my stock exhaust muffler back on. It looks stock but definitely louder than stock with more flow and proper back-pressure but without waking up the whole neighborhood.
Why are R1’s so slow?
Because they aren't using quality parts, like Sprint and Akrapovic, and MR12, and 0W Alisyn Synthetic Oil, and 520 chain kits, and lightweight wheels.

We didn't sell him the exhaust, he just brought it to us as is to tune.

The knockoff exhaust made 3-4 more hp than the previos 2021 with yoshimura 3/4 exhaust, so at the end of the day looks good for the money he paid 🤷🏻♂️
