Is there anyone in 2020 who watches this and is like, "This moment in cinema brings me peace"? It's just perfect. The mood; the ideas; the music; the creation. It gives me hope in humanity, to a degree.
This is how the book describes this scene: "With a sudden upwelling of reverence, Robert Langdon fell to his knees. For a moment, he thought he heard a woman's voice…the wisdom of the ages…whispering up from the chasms of the earth." What's so cool about the soundtrack of the move version is that right at the moment that he decides to kneel, you actually hear the (female) vocals for the first time too! Amazingly done.
“The Holy Grail ‘neath ancient Roslin waits. Adorned in Masters’ loving Art, She lies. The Blade and Chalice guarding o’er Her gates. She rests at last beneath Starry Skies.”
notice how long it takes for the protagonist to have his insight triggered to the end of the Eureka moment. notice how the movies give time for the character to slowly work his way through--from the hotel, to the amount of scenes and how long it takes for him to get to the Louvre Pyramide. you don't get this kind of buildup anymore in movies these days anymore. Even in movies like Endgame, the inner mental processes are not given emphasis anymore.
This scene brings tears to my eyes every time I see it. The mood, the discovery, the realization, the plausibility, the music, the acting, all come together with the single most logical, intelligent explanation of Christianity ever offered. It is an amazing story at so many levels.
The holy grail 'neath ancient Roslin waits. Adorned in masters'loving art she lies. The blade and chalice gaurding o'er her gates.she rests at the last beneath the starry skies
It comes from God? Maybe? Bless you man We all need peace in these deadly times we are now... May God in His Wisdom protect us all and gives us peace and love!
This scene was so well crafted, it was beautiful. The score added to the intensity and the overall beauty of the moment. My only problem is, I WANNA SEE IT FOR THE FIRST TIME AGAIN
This scene adds such majesty & beauty to Langdon's realization. Excellent cinematography, acting, music, brings tears to my eyes. I was disheartened by some changes from the novel. Sophie's (loving, not angry) grandfather was truly her grandfather, and in Scotland, she discovered her grandmother & younger brother were alive. All 3 were descendants of the royal/Holy Grail bloodline, two of reproductive age. But this scene is so moving, I'm ready to forgive. Visited the Louvre in the 1990s, anxious to get inside, didn't pay enough attention to the outer pyramid, but remember seeing the interior closeness of the Blade & Chalice, an amazing architecture feature. So grateful to this film, for the lovely view of an extraordinary structure in a nighttime setting. Kudos!
Cuando la gota de sangre cae al lavabo forma una espada...aunque si se mira del revés podría ser también un cáliz...buen detalle. Magnífico tema para la escena final de la película.
The more beautiful part is that a pit of darkness she rests in has A soft beam of light truely makes the place peaceful and heavenly. What a masterpiece.

This scene like other movies that have been made have been done so well, in the end these scenes rip your heart from the depths of ones soul. I can not for one moment while listening to this song from Hans Zimmer and not believe in GOD or a Higher Power
If look really hard around the @3:39 mark you can see a really detailed reflection of a camera man. Pretty crazy for such a high budget film. It’s better to see it on a large high resolution tv screen

Definitely. I can't stop coming back to this one scene.
If you're religious to any degree and this scene doesn't bring you to the verge of tears you're probably dead !
This final scene alone should have been the whole movie and it would have won the Oscar for best picture.
Totally agree. 100%

The movie was amazing even though I am not christain
I'm not religious and I love this movie so much
Bravo!
That's because of the music. Play the same scene with Porky's soundtrack and you would get a completely different feeling.
One of the most underrated endings in cinema history. Howard, Hans and Hanks doing their magic 😁😊
Thequest for the Holy Grail is the quest to kneel before the bones of Mary Magdalene. A journey to pray at the feet of the outcast one.
How on earth can a man imagine an ending like this? He has to be a Genius. You re definitely a genius Ron howard.

Kneeling at the tomb of the matriarch of the most royal bloodline. Epic.
This scene gives me goosebumps. The music is SO amazing as is the power of how it is shot.
thanks for watching
the way he knelt before the rose line - so much respect.
he actually knelt in front of mary magdalene just like the knights templars knelt...just, he wasn't holding a broadsword in his hands
you can see at 4:11 when Langdon realizes it, he's knees felt weak at that moment, he is taken a back just before he looks up at the sky...
The holy grail 'neath ancient Roslin waits. Adorned in masters'loving art she lies. The blade and chalice gaurding o'er her gates.she rests at the last beneath the starry skies
