      Yes, if it’s a THEME park then all It’s rides should all have a theme of some sort. If it’s just an amusement park then I’m OK with rides that have no theme provided the are fun to ride. Also, any indoor/covered ride the implies a theme from the outside should have one on the inside, unless it’s a truly dark ride but even then You typically have a lighting theme of some sort (i.e. Space mountain).That warehouse coaster look pretty awful in and of itself and the lack of theming just makes it worse given that the building it’s housed in suggest you should expect theming inside. They could fix that I would presume but I’m not sure it would be worth the money given how bad a ride it is otherwise.

The adults definitely never joined us if they could help it though 😂

    Honestly I'm truly surprised that Flashback (originally at Six Flags Magic Mountain) didn't make the list. That ride was HORRENDOUS. Sooooo many people came away with head and neck injuries, to the point it eventually got shut down. But it was there through much of the 90s. It was located close to the entrance gate at Six Flags Plaza. Was built by Intamin as well.
    Opened in 1992 and removed for good in 2007 after it sat idle for 4 years. When I tell you it was HORRENDOUS. My older brother and sister hurt their heads and my dad did too. Only reason I didn't experience it myself is because the ONE time I had the opportunity to ride it in 1995 (I was 9yrs old), I happily gave it a hard pass and waited for my family at the exit lol.
    Not only that, the NOISE from it was also terrible and very LOUD. To the point the lifeguards at the neighboring Hurricane Harbor couldn't hear when someone was needing to be rescued! It would drown out all the sound. Also annoyed the guests, as you can imagine.
    The ride was previously placed at 2 other parks (SF Over Georgia and SF Great America; it was known as "Z-Force" at those two locations, then the name was changed to Flashback when it made its way to Magic Mountain) before it finally made its way to Magic Mountain. It was supposed to get mass-produced, but ended up being the only one of its kind, and for good reason. It remained standing but not operating from 2003 till 2007 when it was removed completely. Originally they were going to try reopening it for 2008 but in 2007 decided to just scrap it completely. Awful, just awful. *shudders*

    Concerning disrespect to coaster engineers: I'm not a coaster engineer, but I *have* worked on technology projects in my time that... for whatever reason... just didn't work out. I can say that, most of the time, when someone's in a technical position on one of these snakebitten projects, they know it. They do their best, try to mitigate the damage, but often the thing breaking it is outside of their control. And, if anything, they'll find grim amusement in someone ripping the thing apart. Unless you try to point the finger at them directly.

    Slight correction; the problems with Green Lantern First Flight weren't Intamin's fault...sorta. A Zac Spin coaster is reliant upon weight distribution which is why many non-American Zac Spins match fat and skinny riders. This is also why people had such drastically different experiences on this ride in particular as your experience relied upon a McDonald's lover being on the ride with you but Six Flags didn't give a shit. The ride's universal reputation didn't properly come around until they added shudiken like shields around the cars which prevented ANY inversions from occuring. Why did they do this? Because a manufacturing error led to the side cars getting hammed in place mid-rorsfion and managers got sick of the ride's shit.

    • @kimiisland9802
      @kimiisland9802 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well, the "problem" with Green Lantern actually was that it was too intense for the average rider. The G-Forces were brutal, so brutal, that you cant just "ride" the ride. You need to have experience in high and sudden G-Forces. You need to maintain a certain body tension...something that even some so called "coaster enthusiasts" dont seem to understand. I would consider myself as an extreme thrill seeker, I am doing Aerobatic Flying in my free time and I have been riding every thrill ride I was tall enough to go on since the age of 5/6. There was not one single ride that scared me. While the adults screamed their head off, I considered it as boring after riding it several times. There are not many coasters that really impressed me. Green Lantern was the first and last one ever that made me more nervous going on a 2nd time. Its a brilliant ride, its so intense, everything is so unexpected, I could not get enough of that. The weight distribution is responsible for the intensity of course, but even when it was uneven, you simply need to have a very strong body tension while riding and you dont feel any pain, just amazing G-Forces. Its a high-end thrill ride, a master piece by Intamin, but unfortunately too intense for the majority of the average coaster riders. I am so sad that its not there anymore.

I love Tonnerre de Zeus which means Zeus' thunder ( a wooden coaster) and Oziris ( inverted coaster ) is also a good coaster appreciated by many people. There is also Pégase Express, a very good family coaster which goes backward at the end of the ride.

The last time I rode in in the mid-2010's, it was one of the worst ride experiences I had endured next to the Green Lantern one. Green Lantern was the ONLY coaster that was rough enough to throw my glasses clean off my face (and yes, I know there are signs everywhere about removing hats and glasses before riding any coaster), but Viper left me with bruises that started to appear the day after my family visited the park. It took several days for the pain to subside, so I made sure to give a detailed explanation in the Six Flags survey about why I felt that Viper should either be remastered to be smoother (like Cyclone) or scrapped altogether.

    I rode the original SLC at Walibi a few times, it's too bad the ride is so rough because the layout is a lot of fun IMO. Walibi recently replaced the carts with the new strap, which made it a lot better, but it's still incredibly bumpy and shaky. Hopefully Vekoma will overhaul the SLC with modern track and cart technologies for a smoother ride at some point

The Demon boomerang at Wonderland (I was too little to ride it when I used to visit Wonderland before they shut), the Corkscrew at Gold Coast Seaworld (which was renamed to Sea Viper, then removed), and the Arkham Asylum SLC at Movie World (which used to be named Lethal Weapon). I used to ride the Corkscrew at Sea World all the time, and looking back now, I was shocked at how short the ride was & didn't remember it being so brief. Also, the Arkham Asylum have at least upgraded their restraints in the past few years so it's not *as* headache inducing. Still a little rough, but a good time.
      I wish theme parks would up their coaster game over here. Highest rated coaster in Aus is the DC Rivals at Movie World, which, whilst a nice & smooth coaster, it doesn't compare to so many other coasters in other countries.
