Elvis worked very hard during his music tours and while making movies to reach the widest possible audience using the talents that he had been given. He tried not to let the frailties of being human hold him back. To that end he was very successful. I admire him for his strength and his achievements!
Doesn't any one calling it a pity party know the difference between pity and empathy ? There is no pity party for Elvis, never has been, but some people are trying to finally give him the empathy and understanding he was never given in the past. From the moment he died, every one in Elvis ' life had a chance to air their grievances against him, using writing their books as self therapy. Of course, hiding it behind the pretenses of doing it to show their love for him, while complaining about every little thing, how hard it was to be part of his life, everything they interpreted as Elvis being unfair to them had to be told, never acknowledging any faults of their own. The pity parties has been thrown by them, to themselves, with their books, or when talking about Elvis. For decades now, books after books, interviews after interviews, people close to Elvis have painted a terrible picture of him, the most horrible narrative about him has been cemented in people's consciousness. I have never seen an artist who has been as betrayed, by as many loved ones, as Elvis has since his passing. It baffles me to see fans that are now more offended by what is being said about the people that played a huge part in tarnishing Elvis' legacy and image, than by all the terrible accusations at Elvis' character. The one person being judged is the one person who has never been able to give his side, Elvis himself. Some people are trying to have a broader understanding of the stories that have painted Elvis in a bad light, not believing everything at face value. They are not throwing Elvis a pity party, they are just giving him the empathy that he has never received, when being stripped of all his dignity and privacy in all those books and interviews.
I sure do agree with you! I don't believe Elvis was weak, or unwise. He chose those people to be around him, for the most part, when he was younger. He had no way of knowing what the future would bring and he certainly had no way of knowing how badly he would be betrayed after he died.
@@rhondadavis1897 Exactly what I was thinking. Elvis chose those people decades ago, however, would he continue to choose them as they are now. Probably not.
Perfectly said 👏🏻 It's time some truths come out about all the people who trashed him. And the fans who want this, are not "haters". Too easy... we are simply tired of these manipulated narration who often threw him and his name into the mud. No matter if they came from any of the MM, silly journalists, cinema directors, or his ex-wife. I don't think people would have ever had problems with Priscilla if she had been coherent in her stories and for one time admitted she was not a poor victim of the events. We saw her saying everything and the opposite, with her fake soft spoken voice constructed to make people believe how kind and caring wife and mother she was. And after Lisa passed away we saw her worst... a silly cartoon and a terrible movie Lisa disapproved of, lawsuits after lawsuits to take money from everyone around her, nothing said to stop her son from insulting Lisa publicly everywhere. These are facts...funny how some people still keep their eyes closed, hiding behind the fact that who has theirs opened, spread "hatred' o "pity party'. It would be wonderful to love and respect Elvis for who he was and enjoy his talent only, but it's normal to react to people who want constantly to profit on him, spreading lies after lies. Enough is enough!!
Yes thank you. Just my point computer thing can’t spell right. Priscilla has manipulated and manufactured lies about Elvis. That is not pity for Elvis. That is the truth about Elvis. The truth about Elvis is he did not marry an underage child bride. That’s a lie. Priscilla’s lie the truth. Priscilla was not legally Elvis Presley‘s wife when Elvis Presley died she was not his widow. That’s a lie and that’s the bottom line That Sally doesn’t understand she’s calling us hate groups. Elvis Presley‘s history is been manufactured by lies and mostly by Priscilla by the Stanley by some of the members mafia and he didn’t freely choose Priscilla and Colonel Tom Packett. Let’s be truthful here. There was manipulation briberies and other things going on behind the scenes in fact colonel Tom Parker went to his parents And manipulated them to signing over to him so he didn’t exactly choose Colonel Tom Parker Diddy. His parents did and then he didn’t do the right thing by Elvis. He didn’t really actually choose Priscilla. There was manipulation and sort of bribery behind the scene with that and her parents and She pretended to be someone she was not. She used Air Force officer to get to meet him the Lee Lewis situation in order to make sure that marriage and that relationship happened. That wasn’t his choice. Parker and Priscilla were not his free choice. A lot of the members mafia where is free choice But even if they were his choice doesn’t give them the right to lie about him and cover up their own bad behaviour to say Elvis Presley cheated on the marriage is not fair. Priscilla cheated on the marriage to she flaunted her relationships with Steve back and Mike stone Priscilla left Elvis Presley for Mike Stone who she was having an affair with so it’s not right when people say but Elvis cheated when Priscilla cheated on the marriage twice and left the marriage with her second lover and people must’ve been living under a rock even look back she got caught out having her affair with Mike Stone because she flaunted it so it’s true Priscilla has manufactured a false history of Elvis’s history. That’s all basically lies from the period. She was in his life. She’s lied about it. That doesn’t give her the right to do that. That’s not because Elvis is weak. it’s because Priscilla is dishonest cause it doesn’t mean a man is weak which Sally lost the plot on that one when you marry someone when you have someone as your best friend when you have someone who is your manager? It’s not a sign of weakness to a man. It’s not a sign of pity to Elvis. It’s a sign of telling the truth. I mean as an Elvis fan come on. Don’t you think his history deserves to be told with the truth and when has it ever been told with the truth never Priscilla still continues to lie and add more lies to the story. She even goes so far as to lie about some of these iconic songs as I said before she lied about if I can dream to people in Europe told the reporters in Europe about him not wanting to tour Europe and I googled it the other day and I tell you what has nothing to do with touring Europe at all with Martin Luther King assassination Bobby Kennedy‘s assassination and the troubles that were going on in the country at the time of him doing the 68 comeback special and that’s one of his iconic songs and now she’s extort the historical fact about that song that’s wrong Elvis doesn’t deserve to be lied about for a profit and that’s exactly what’s happened. These people lie about him and get paid for it. That’s not right either.
Well said 👏 The only thing I can say is that I am one of the people who became a fan after watching the movie. Prior to that my typical statement about Elvis was that I liked "his early music but not the Las Vegas lounge lizard stuff." When i finally watched the movie I understood that it was just a movie, but it did make Elvis more human to me. As a result I started reading and trying to learn more about the man. I started listening to his music - all of it. And now I am a diehard fan. I love Elvis warts and all. Am I bothered that the people in his inner circle betrayed him? Yes. Did I read every one of their books? Yes. Not sure what that makes me. Now my typical statement about Elvis is "the man made his choices, but damn if there was ever a man who could have used a real friend." I stand by that and I love his music from beginning to end. So I may not like all of the people in his life but what if they hadn't written anything?
@@GrumpyFlyr1995 I have taken what they all say with a grain of salt. Is half of what they have said even true? I know lies have been told for 47 years. Will we ever really know any truths? I fear we will never know. Just like the JFK assassination. Huge cover up.
" do what I say, not what I do". She blames Lurhmann movie (why not a word about the VERY damaging Coppola movie ?), she blames Elvis' fans (why not Elvis' haters and their MUCH MORE violent comments ?), she blames Elvis (why not the misinformations made by his inner circle, even when Elvis was alive, "what happened" was published before his death). The real problem is to listen to the biased narrative of "people who were there" instead of Elvis himself : focusing on what Elvis said, and most of all sang. The real problem is to listen to everybody but Elvis.
Yes " what happened" was written by guys Elvis chose to fire, "Elvis and me" by a wife he chose to divorce. But now we should take each of their words for granted ???
Elvis' was and still is The Greatest Entertainer of all time! His life was so chaotic, I don't know how many people could have endured everything that he had been through!! God Bless him! May he and Lisa rest in peace!!
I who saw him live in concert in 1973 have no opinion on his life style choices just on his musical talent. They have smashed him, bashed him over the years but no one and I mean no one has done what he did in the short 20 years we had him. He was at the head of a musical revolution and even today when people like Elton John praise him that speaks volumes to me.❤
I will just say in my opinion over the years I have seen all the blame being put on Elvis. All the people around Elvis were adults and made their choices too. As far as Elvis health and dependence on prescription meds no one including Elvis knew all the health problems he had that made that necessary . I just love Elvis, have since I was five and am now 73, and I will always love him. ❤
What does allow her to tell us Elvis' fans what we are allowed to think about the entourage of Elvis ? She is allowed to desparage Lamar or the movie and we are disallowed to say anything. There's no place for dictatorship in Elvis' world.
Hey Lass, i love your broadcasts and love Sally's book. But having been a fan since 1956 at 12 years old i am now 80 and lived Elvis' whole career. I have never hated Priscilla, or blamed anyone in his life for anything, but Priscilla has sown much of the perception about Elvis by her words deeds and actions. She has rewritten history to an extend, and recently put out one of the worse movie's about Elvis ever made. She even signed on to become executive producer on the film so nothing should have been a surprise. She actually had her then partner Kruse negotiate the film being made by women's activist Sophia Coppola as director. Her own daughter told her the movie was not a true portrayal of her father, but Priscilla again wanted to be the martyr not the xwife. Why am I a hater to tell young people that continually say Elvis was a pedo, even my granddaughter 12 who saw the movie on tv. ? who would do that to him if she cared about their daughter and granddaughters? Now they have to defend their grandfather. It makes me crazy and she is the reason for this now horrible vision of Elvis as a wife beater and a rapist, everything but the kitchen sink. It was malicious and wrong. I just want real history to be corrected, she has done so much harm to Elvis. I don't hate her I just want the truth about her relationship in Elvis Life and Lisa. Nobody wants to discuss her treatment of Lisa putting her in Scientology at 12, or her leaving Elvis for Stone. Why? Why is she this scared cow? Well now everyone is labeled no matter what you say. And who pities Elvis? He was the most beautiful talented man who ever lived. Anyway I've said my piece, I love your wonderful program and wish you well. Be Blessed.
Leave Priscilla alone! I'm sick of Priscilla's haters! She loved Elvis and Elvis loved her. But she had every reason to leave him because he was always cheating on her and on EVERY his girlfriend! Priscilla loved Elvis , but he was unable to be faithful to any woman. It doesn't matter to me. I love Elvis, no matter what. Because he was a good man, talented, beautiful , giving , passionate and caring! But I understand that life with Elvis was not always a fairy tale. He was constantly cheating, he was taking drugs, and drugs didn't help with his temper also, that he always had issues with. (He sad it himself in interview ,that he always had issues with his temper.) Priscilla couldn't take that lifestyle anymore and she had every reason to leave him , just like Linda Thomson left him, because of cheating and drugs. Even though they both loved Elvis. Priscilla NEVER said anything bad about Elvis! She always says only good things about Elvis in every interview, how caring and giving Elvis was ! Why don't you see it! But she has EVERY RIGHT to tell her story of HER life with Elvis with all ups and downs! You never lived that life with Priscilla and Elvis , so you don't know their privet life. So STOP blaming Priscilla for telling her story! She loved Elvis, but Elvis couldn't change his life, so she had every reason to leave him. And don't blame her for introducing Lisa Marie to scientology. Lisa Marie was very difficult child, she was taking drugs from very early age. Lisa Marie said it many times in interviews over the years. Every mother would do ANYTHING to stop her child from ruining their life! It worked at that time, she saved Lisa! Priscilla also saved Graceland! God Bless her for keeping Elvis Legacy alive all this years! All Priscilla's haters need to watch Christmas Special at Graceland. When Riley Keogh put all that pictures of Elvis and Priscilla together on big screen, that was a clear message to all Priscilla' haters that Priscilla is a FAMILY! Smart girl! LOVE ELVIS AND ALL ELVIS 'S FAMILY FOREVER!❤❤❤
@@LilChav-lu1yy Even the crimes committed now in the news selling fake Elvis Memorabilia?. I am sorry you are so uninformed. I pray you will see the truth of how she has created a phony image to cover her past life before Elvis. You sound about 12 years old.
@@LilChav-lu1yy Still uneducated on the facts dear. She put Lisa in Scientology for being difficult as you say, and why was that? At 11 Priscilla's live in boyfriend Mike Edwards tried to molest her she even wrote a song called "Idiot" about it. She was kept in the cult for months at a time. I even heard the testimony of her past auditor in the cult who said that she was over Tom Cruises children and Lisa Marie, and they were the saddest children and were extremely lonely and afraid. Scientology is a programming cult that can hurt your brain. Do yourself a favor and read the real story in "Child Bride". I am Priscilla age, I did life those times. You obviously are young and uneducated.
@@LilChav-lu1yy I agree and as one of Elvis's biggest fans..I feel he would be so proud of you. You sugarcoat nothing..Priscilla gets blamed for everything and that would make Elvis very sad. 👏👏👏
I partly agree with Sally but not totally, sorry. I've never thought Elvis is to blame. I'm not of the team "poor Elvis" but, concerning Priscilla I'm not of the team "poor Priscilla" either. I'm tired of this narrative and to read silly comments after her silly movie. Everybody made their choices at that time and many lied a lot for 5 minutes of spotlight. As a fan I want to be free to make my own opinions and thoughts, without always being considering a "hater" only if I express something about a person around Elvis' life that I don't approve. People have to be free to speak and share opinions, in a polite way. And we are free to follow the channels we like.
Michelle where i do get annoyed is the narrative some have said about Elvis after his death which aren't great and personally think some things are best left unsaid i don't do the blame game but there is a big but Michelle people hate on Elvis because of whats been said about him and by whom the people around him well some of them at least .Elvis was a strong character but like youve said there are points in his life where that was taken away from him and yes Elvis was his own person and had his beliefs and chose these people around him in all honesty i do question why with some .
Exactly...and sorry but all the silly comments about the "pedo" stuff or grooming comes from Priscilla and her desire to have again her own movie (that fortunately flopped) and ruined the "good" Baz brought with his movie, despite the inaccuracies.
Her video and the way she refuses to hear how much she hurt several Elvis' fans, shows her lack of knowledge about Elvis and the way he was taking care of his fans
According to Sally Hoedel we should listen to the Memphis Mafia members because "they were there". Sonny West pretends that Elvis would have asked Shelley Fabares during their SECOND movie "if she's still going with that guy" and Shelley would have replyed that she was married to that guy. Shelley was already married before her FIRST movie with Elvis. If you ignore this fact, how can you understand that what Sonny pretends is untrue ?
Don t you have anything else better to do than dissect the life of this GREAT Man, who s sadly passed away almost 50 years ago...ELVIS doesn t need your excuses or reasons for HIS behaviour. HIS private life, HIS business.... We know and love the ***IMAGE***,but we don t know the man., like ELVIS used to say many times.....One of the Sweet Inspiration, Estelle, who worked with The KING for almost 10 years, never said a word about HIS private life, she said that she worked for HIM, that all, HIS private life was NOT her business. Why can t people take example on this wonderful woman, who loved ELVIS to pieces, and still cry even today, when she remembers HIM...If ELVIS was alive today, HE would be appalled by all these people minding HIS business, instead of minding their own business. How would you like if one your neighbour spied. on you, and display your private life on Facebook.??? I m sure you wouldn t like it...LEAVE HIM ALONE..LET HIM REST IN PEACE...
I AGREE 100 % CAN HARDLY WATCH ANYMORE THE RUBBISH WRITTEN BY SO CALLED FANS ETERNAL ELVIS GREATEST ENTERTAINER KIND, GENEROUS CHARITABLE BELIEVED IN GOD BELOVED FOR EVERMORE 🇦🇺🇺🇲🇦🇺🇺🇲👑👑
Priscilla, who has tarnished Elvis’ image more than anyone, and whose penchant for lying is both repulsive and legendary, chose to be in the spotlight. That decision, and the lying that always diminishes Elvis, invites scrutiny, of course. I find the rhetoric hurled at the Elvis community: ‘pity party’, ‘haters’, and totally unfounded claims that they see Elvis as having no faults, etc., provocative and offensive. Some people have an exceptionally strong sense of justice, while others are more long-suffering. That’s just the way human nature works, and those who seek justice should not be demonized or subjected to patronizing lectures, please. Enough of the nauseating condescension and insults! Just state your case, and let others express theirs, even if those opinions, horror of horrors, are not yours, and even if, mother of all horrors, they won’t take your sanctimonious counsel! ✌️
Brilliant Mary. You have captured exactly the disgust of intelligent well researched Elvis fans. Who does Sally think she is talking to? Many of us are more professionally qualified than she is and would never take that arrogant condescending tone. She is obviously part of the desperate attempt by Priscilla's PR team to silence those who quote facts and truth that expose her disgusting charade and exploitation. How dare she try to shame us for refusing to let lies and injustice prevail that tarnish Elvis' reputation. She has clearly misjudged the integrity, passion and determination of real Elvis fans to cut through the stranglehold that false narratives have had on the mass media and expose those guilty of this manipulation.
We are who we are by the choices we make. Elvis made choices in a world that he was the first to live in. No blueprint for what he became. Pressures, successes affected his choices, but they were his choices. You know me Michelle. I despise the trolls, all the people who blame everyone else around him and the haters, for not doing this or that. B.S. I want to believe he was perfect, but if he was, I don't think he would have been the Elvis we know and of course love. I am an Elvis fan. Period!!! The Good The Bad and the ugly comes with that. And I am happy with what I got for an idol To close, we are who we are because of choices. How we respond makes us that person.
How could an expert who believes she has the truth and does not take any step back from what she says (even when she falsely claims that Lamar worked for Elvis since 1956!) remain reliable ?
Went to the Elvis exhibition yesterday for my birthday, it was very quiet in the afternoon, at one point me and my wife were alone standing with the Aloha suit for about 15 mins, it was a touching personal moment away from the crowds, much more up close and personal than whoever I’ve been to Graceland, they told me it’s not being extended after September 1st.
Elvis was a man of his time, good and not so good maketh the man, no one can ever truly comprehend how life was like for someone that famous Michelle ❤❤ great video
I agree Michelle. Elvis doesn't need nor deserve a pity party. He does not need defending either, his astronomical reputation speaks for itself !!!! We're all responsible for our own actions..to be judged as to where it's wrong or right is hypocritical and God's call not ours. Elvis was a human like we are but to blame his family for the choices he made, would make for a very sad Elvis.. The greatest entertainer God ever created and loved by us all, come hell or high water !!!!! Thank you for your insight Michelle ❤
Ive been a fan for 40 years and I’ve never seen anyone give a pity party for Elvis . It’s literally a made up talking point . Empathy and pity are different .
Just tonight on a major network in the USA, Elvis was referred to as "FAT ELVIS" 3 times. So, even corporate America is still bashing Elvis. MSNBC should know better.
Aww, Michelle, if you come here at all ... I loved how you were talking lovingly, yet realistically, about Elvis and the complexity of his life and his relationships. You so get him!! Imho. And you would be the first to say many other serious fans do too. And you have that same kind heart that Elvis had. Perhaps you have tried 'to soften the blow' of Sally Hoedel's way ... . She offended lots of serious Elvis fans with common sense with her post. And it seems she has yet created new camps, educated and uneducated fans, fans with degrees or without ... How would Elvis feel about that? It simply FELT very wrong. Anyway, I feel there were and are people in the Elvis world who do harm his image and story, and yes, one of them is Priscilla. It has to be exposed and corrected, as far as possible, for the sake of history, for later generations, who as we, will not only listen to his music or watch his movies, but will always want to know about him as a person, and about his life. Anything else would be letting him down. That's the way I FEEL. Nothing to do with hate, but love for Elvis, and the truth. P. S. I wish Priscilla would finally retreat. The longer she is in the limelight, the worse and more embarrassing it gets for Elvis and Lisa Marie. Imo
Sally Hoedel missed the right elephant : usually, when someone died, everybody focus on the bright aspects of this person, in a very respectful way. For Elvis, it's the opposite : they are erasing all the wonderful things which could be said about him and focus/create dirty stuff. These are facts - very easy to know only if you are well aknowledged about Elvis - for which MM (some of them) and his ex wife deserve to be blamed. The Colonel or his father were NEVER publicly badmouthing Elvis. This is the real elephant in Elvis' room and it's certainly NOT Elvis (or his fans) who put it there.
Why do you think Sally did all that research and wrote Destined To Die Young? Have you read her book? She most definitely didn't miss the elephant in the room you're talking about. Sally has given Elvis his dignity back with that book. Please-please-please don't do this.. don't turn against someone who actually works hard to change the negative narrative that has been put out by all those awful tell-all books written about Elvis.. Try again and listen to what she actually says. She doesn't try to tell Elvis fans what to think about anyone, she is talking about how all the negativity and anger and blaming all over Elvis fb pages and Elvis UTube channels is hurting ELVIS' LEGACY, and she is totally right. It scares newer fans away. I have left several Elvis fan pages myself because all the arguing and negativity and blaming is just exhausting and sad. It's the same over and over and over again everywhere. There are a lot of younger UT reactors who reacts to Elvis' music and really start to appreciate Elvis the artist. But too often in the comment section some (female) Elvis fans start arguing about his personal life, and it's Prizzy this and Prizzy that. Elvis doesn't need that, you never see this with other artists. Let the younger generation learn about the amazing artist Elvis Presley! I am one of those who really got into the Elvis rabbit hole because of the '22 Elvis movie, and I have (sadly) read a couple of books about Elvis that I will never recommend to anyone because the way he has been exposed and portayed in them. The one book I'm really glad I found is "Elvis and Gladys" by Elaine Dundy. I'm so grateful for people like Sally Hoedel, Elvis Lass, the Channel Those Elvis Girls and others who are all about spreading positivity, knowledge and understanding. Elvis deserves that.
@@monasrum4321 Those same persons will start their journey in Elvis World by reading books or listening old interviews of people who said a lot of lies (Prissy at the top of the list) ..and they would believe in those lies. The first problem is to prohibit Elvis fans from correcting the lies made by those around him after his death. Isn't that a very curious move from a self-proclaimed Elvis expert?
Ive never hated anyone and ive never projected hate towards anyone. I will never let anyone feel they are above me. ❤muy certeras tus palabras Michelle. Realmente debe haber sido muy compleja la vida de Elvis y también de las personas que lo rodearon. No había hoja de ruta para seguir a un ícono como el.❤❤❤
Hello, to our Darling Michelle. Elvis, may or may not have had a bit of different genetically, and also brought on by his life time experiences emmotional illnesses. He fought through being shy. He may have had a touch of autism, bi-polarism,schitzo-effective disorder, depression, emmotional child abuse, probably was bullied in school for being different and was beaten down emmotionally by many people. His Uncle Vester talked to us for about 10 minutes or so about Elvis' life from his childhood onward. It was not a pretty picture. Elvis, had great ambition and accept for Parker holding Pricilla over his head and Elvis being very loyal to his commitments, things would have been a whole lot different. He didn't have a manager that worked for him. Parker worked with Elvis only being a cash cow for him. When Elvis mother had died he later said that he did not want to outlive the age of his mother,... and he didn't. Elvis was mostly so selfless. He felt the responcibility and the burden of supporting so many people. Relatives, friends, people that he heard about or met along his way. You know that he worried about all of the people that depended on his employment. Including instrumentalists, his pilot, etc. It was a painful burden, carrying all of that upon himself. He always wanted to give and to do more to rid the sorrows of others. I just believe that he had to be a sensitive. Psychic. He felt the pain of others emmotions. He may have also felt their physical pain. I fall into the psychic arena, as does Mr. Ace. No matter the past, we cannot change it. Elvis is still the only king, besides our Lord that will continue to stand after death. They both are helping us still. I do not compare Elvis to God, for it is our LORD THAT GIVES US THE ABILITY TO GUIDE AND TO HELP OTHERS FROM THE OTHER SIDE. wE LOVE YOU ALL, mICHELLE. gOT TO GO NOW. mR. AND mRS. aCE X, FROM fLORIDA
I agree that Elvis carved out the blueprint of a rocknroll icon that no one had ever done in life. The pressures of just being himself was extremely difficult. TCB ⚡️⚡️ I lost respect for Priscilla back in 1997, but we are all human and have to pray for people who have a lot of hurt in their heart. ⚡️⚡️
Hey Michelle, I agree with you on most of it but I don’t see any room for me anymore to like Priscilla. I don’t hate her or anybody but I don’t like her she has done a lot of things to bring down Elvis and his character even her son has talked bad about him and Lisa Marie. But it will all come out soon when Lisa’s book come’s out. But the things we’ve seen and heard our on self you can catch her lying about things that are not true. But any way I do agree with you in the long run it’s all about Elvis and loving him and keeping his legacy going. Love ya, Connie 🤗❤️🎶TCB⚡️
Well said 👍🏻. Some people would like us to put on pink glasses and love everyone in Elvis's world, just because they were a part of his history or because he chose them...but there are moments when it's absolutely impossible because it's an insult to our intelligence. We have seen a lot more, after his death, about these people (ex-wife, girlfriends, "friends" and so on). And see those people constantly lying, milking his name and legacy and saying or doing things without any respect for a dead man who gave them a lot and can't reply to their statements, is awful. And you can't say " It was the past..we have to move on..". I think new generations of fans need to know what is true and what is totally fantasy or crap...and old fans who lived the Elvis Era have to do the best to put out the truth. Sally wrote a book about her research so, why can't others do the same with social media? For some, I admit, it's simply "hate" with no explanations or confrontations... but for many others it's only "truth".
@@A.P087yes, I think many fans got annoyed by Sally's video because it can be read as a contradiction. She did research to point out the truth about his addiction, making a book, but when others point out other things about Priscilla or the Colonel or anyone else in their channels or social media, with documents or facts in their hands, is only "hatred" or " blame Elvis". It sounded like "someone" is looking for help to clean her image in the Elvis World. I don't hate Priscilla, but I'm tired of her and all her lawsuits who always bring drama. After Lisa's death we haven't had a moment of peace. If it's the day for her to pay for something wrong she did, I won't be so upset and sad.
Exactly. Elvis was not weak and chose everything and everyone in his life but this doesn't mean he wasn't surrounded by people who saw him as a cash cow or exploiting his talent and name or pressed him to take a few decisions. The Colonel was good at the beginning and did a lot for him but this doesn't delete the objective fact he took advantage of him too. And in the second place there is Priscilla. Having this consciousness is not "hate" but reality. What I didn't like about Sally is to turn off the comments under her video. This means she doesn't like confrontation or maybe she only likes to read comments of people who agree. Many disagree, sorry and to censor their thoughts are not so civil and mature.
I’m 57 and I’ve been following Elvis since I was four years old in the early 1970s… Especially having older siblings. The plain simple truth is this… He had poor management that ran him like a racehorse into the ground. In order to keep up, Elvis started to rely heavily on drugs. Predictably, the drugs would take away his sound reasoning and rationale and would leave him very vulnerable. The only three that had the courage to stand up and say something was Red West, Sonny West and Dave Hebler his bodyguards. consequently, Elvis fired these three men and it would only be a year later that Elvis would die. everyone else in his circle was fearful of saying anything because they all feared that they would be fired.
Looking great Michelle, elvis was his own man i don't think its fair blaming other people for elvis addictions ect elvis wouldn't listen and would sack people if they got involved, just enjoy his music and life story he will be mentioned in generations to come never forgotten, TCB Michelle ❤
Vulnerability is strong. He had plenty of those but that doesn’t show weakness like u said. Every guy has health problems and stuff like that. No ones to blame for what happened. His addiction played a part in his death and the only one who fought that addiction was Elvis himself
Hi Michelle- sorry to change tack but just watching 1965 Shindig tribute to Elvis as a 10 year anniversary special. It’s a really good tribute with many artists (Sonny and Cher, Willie Nelson, Glen Campbell etc)of the time doing Elvis numbers. Some of the singers have faded into obscurity. You can find it on TH-cam.
Well said Michelle. I am not in any of those 'camps' either. I am not interested in the exwife or anybody else on the periphery. All the people around Elvis - family, friends/entourage, musicians - loved him and did their best to support him in whatever way he needed. I hate it when people call these people leeches and hangers on. Elvis chose to have them with him. As for Dr Nick, he was unfairly demonised for years. If you read his book, it will bring tears to you, he loved and admired Elvis, and did his best to diagnose Elvis' health issues and prescribe what meds he needed.
I always love your videos and I always love hearing you talk about Elvis but I tend to disagree with your opinion on Sally she is trying to tell Elvis fans that we shouldn’t expose the truth about Elvis with the lies that I’ve been told about us. That’s basically what she’s trying to say in that video. She’s trying to say that we have established groups that called defending Elvis we’re hating the people around him. We’re not hating on people around him. We’re exposing the lies they tell about Elvis Presley‘s history is being extorted and that’s not right is the king of rock ‘n’ roll is the greatest entertainer in the world. Why should his history be put out in the public by people that were around him? Who simply don’t tell the truth? that’s his history and corporate for that is Priscilla and she was not a part of his life for his whole entire life. She even lies about some of his iconic songs like if I can dream, she’s gotten that bad that she lies about and what they’re about. We can’t sit back and say nothing. It doesn’t think it isn’t because we think Elvis is weak as Sally and because Elvis Presley chose these people to be in his life we should not say anything when they lie about him and they have been exposed like child bride Priscilla was not widow which Priscilla was not. She lied about being a virgin. The child bride claim has done damaged Elvis Presley‘s legacy. The claim has done damage to Elvis Presley‘s legacy the Priscilla movie did a lot of damage to Elvis Presley‘s legacy. Priscilla constantly lies about Elvis and paints him as a monster and hurt the victim and you can’t let somebody get away with that. Look at the whole situation with people like Amber who falsely accused Johnny Depp he lost his career because of those false allegations, because we’re living in a generation where we just believe accuses whether they’re telling the truth or not and they cancel a celebrity gets falsely accused now can’t go to court and defend himself. Kenny can’t go to court and clear his name when Priscilla accuses him of rape and domestic violence to sell a book and sell a movie, to make money OFF so I disagree with what Sally said and I think she’s being a hypocrite. She’s telling we can’t defend our idol when he’s been lied about but she can make money off Elvis books.
I listened to Sally too and for my money she talks a lot of sense. I loved her book 'Destined to Die Young' and it answered many questions I'd always had. Elvis must have been a strong character to be so different in the 50s and to remain unchanged when he was getting preached against from pulpits and burned in effigy. He was always so polite to rude/stupid interviewers. Did you also see the post by Sally comparing Elvis's health condition(s) with Celine Dion's? I enjoyed the Elvis film and think it wasn't really for diehard fans like us but it brought so many new fans into the Elvis family and that can only be a good thing. Elvis forever ❤
I just saw your playlist of tribute songs to Elvis and was surprised to see that the most touching and beautiful one in my opinion was missing, the title is: "Goodbye King of Rock 'n' Roll" by Leon Everette, it is very rare and was the first ever dedication, released just 2 days after Elvis' death on August 18, 1977...did you know it?
The problem with this is Elvis would never want any of this hate. Elvis never hated cilla , or Red ,Sonny and Dave H, even though he may of been upset about them but he never hated anyone other than robert Goulet but that was a good enough excuse. I only had one problem with one leading lady and that was Ann M but Elvis was to blame aswell , I don't agree with the Cheating part of Elvis
Hi Michelle, not sure if you have seen the event on Tuesday 15th October in London an evening with Riley Keough re Lisa’s book launch Hope that you can make it
No pity from me towards Elvis. I am more accepting and understanding of anything that happened in Elvis' life than I was previously. If, ands, buts, should've, would've, could've, can't change what happened. Things are as they are, and we were not there with Elvis. It's not fair to try to go back in time and fix his life. I love Elvis, but it was his life, and we can't make excuses for anyone. There are people that were in his life that I have opinions about also. Yes, it's sad that his life was short, but for me, that is such a huge part of his amazing story and legacy! I hope you understand what I mean.🎶 I Did It My Way🎶😊💖
I had seen that video with Sally and couldn't agree with her more about everything. No pity for Elvis and stop making everyone the villain. Elvis was human just like the rest of us
Elvis worked very hard during his music tours and while making movies to reach the widest possible audience using the talents that he had been given.
I cannot agree more
Perfectly said 👏🏻 It's time some truths come out about all the people who trashed him.
Elvis fans will always love, support, listen to his music, and miss him like crazy, .
I've been an Elvis fan since i was 9 yrs old. I'm 55 now and still love him.
The only pity party going on is the one that Priscilla has manufactured for herself.
Well said❤
Well said 👏 The only thing I can say is that I am one of the people who became a fan after watching the movie.
(He sad it himself in interview ,that he always had issues with his temper.)
Priscilla couldn't take that lifestyle anymore and she had every reason to leave him , just like Linda Thomson left him, because of cheating and drugs.

Hi Team Elvis
So True - Go Team Elvis
I agree Jo ❤
Some totally took the piss
Her video and the way she refuses to hear how much she hurt several Elvis' fans, shows her lack of knowledge about Elvis and the way he was taking care of his fans
Fully agree
According to Sally Hoedel we should listen to the Memphis Mafia members because "they were there". Sonny West pretends that Elvis would have asked Shelley Fabares during their SECOND movie "if she's still going with that guy" and Shelley would have replyed that she was married to that guy. Shelley was already married before her FIRST movie with Elvis. If you ignore this fact, how can you understand that what Sonny pretends is untrue ?
Elvis was very blessed and he passed on his blessings to others. God bless you Michele God bless us everyone and all our loved ones❤

I agree. This is the point 👍🏻
GREAT POINT MICHELLE ITS JUST ELVIS FANS HURT FOR ELVIS HOW PEOPLE TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ELVIS ❤
❤️
Lovely! Happy belated birthday 💐
Elvis was a man of his time, good and not so good maketh the man, no one can ever truly comprehend how life was like for someone that famous
Michelle ❤❤ great video
I agree!
Just tonight on a major network in the USA, Elvis was referred to as "FAT ELVIS" 3 times. So, even corporate America is still bashing Elvis. MSNBC should know better.
Well said , Michelle ... love your honesty ! TCB forever !
It has to be
exposed and corrected, as far as possible, for the sake of history, for later generations, who as we, will not only listen to his music or watch his movies, but will always want to know about him as a person, and about his life.
Imo
We are ALL human with our OWN perfections and imperfections.. thats what makes us who we are
the problem is people who after his death only talk about Elvis imperfections (real or not)
Sally Hoedel missed the right elephant : usually, when someone died, everybody focus on the bright aspects of this person, in a very respectful way.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This is the point. Look what happened after that awful movie Priscilla did. It was respectful and really truthful for Elvis? We can't always be so blind .. many fans after years of lies are simply tired..😮💨
@@monasrum4321if you were right, instead of turning off the comments, she would listen to the fans who are hurt and would explain them what is misunderstood
@@monasrum4321 the positivity in Elvis' world is noticing that Elvis can still rely on his fans to support him and to protect his image, that several people close to him have also protected his image; and it's keeping in mind that Elvis divorced (instead of married a woman whose storytelling make him compare to all the awful words we unfortunately know)
Hello Michael I love the way you talk about Elvis very sweet of you sweetheart the Elvis presley I meth in 1965 in fort Lauderdale while

Hi Michelle ❤️
I agree that Elvis ❤ was a strong determined man but also could be vunerable, even so he was still in charge.
His guys did give a lot up for him including their marriages etc but then that was still there choice to make.
I can't stand people telling nasty vicious stories about him just to make money, that does make me annoyed. None of us really don't know what we would do in that situation because we wasn't there but I don't ever think of Elvis ❤ being anything but strong and sometimes being taken advantage of.
Sally has a great way of summing things up.
WE LOVE YOU ELVIS ❤️
Thank you Michelle ❤️
he was very human, which is why we love him
The first problem is to prohibit Elvis fans from correcting the lies made by those around him after his death. Isn't that a very curious move from a self-proclaimed Elvis expert?
Ive never hated anyone and ive never projected hate towards anyone. I will never let anyone feel they are above me. I totally object to Sally trying to tell me what I can and cannot do and also how I should feel. Iam about finding the truth that does not equate to hate. I feel enraged that Sally feels she can project her opinions onto viewers however dictate that I cannot.
Take care dear and God bless you and your family
We the fans can't stop jealous people making comments about Elvis they always have done I've been s fan for over 50 years and nothing will change my views of the greatest and generous man that ever lived
I am very surprised that an author who claims to be a fan of Elvis can speak to us in such a condescending manner.
missing you michelle, hope you are ok
I listen to it and thought great video and had lot of great points, Great to see u again Michelle.x
Thanks love. It’s a great video isn’t it. Sally has such great points!
❤ELVIS PRESLEY THE TOTAL PACKAGE BEAUTIFUL HUMBLE BEST VOICE EVER ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🌹🌷LOVE FROM SOUTH AFRICA 😻😘
Thank you!! Clearly a call for more respect and objectivity is not censorship or silencing. I appreciate you understanding exactly what I was conveying. You also gave me a couple things to think about in exchange. Thanks again!!
Imposing what we have to think or say is dictatorship. Not hearing that you have offended us is disrespectful. Refusing to change a single word is stupidity.
@@Chloe-j3o Wrong, wrong and wrong again. I am an author and an independent entity. I maintain full autonomy with my work and will continue to offer Elvis history the level of integrity it deserves. You are under no obligation to consume it.
Elvis was just human after all , Love him all the same ⚡and his beautiful voice and music🎶❤️❤️ Hope you are well Michelle x
What you say makes sense...thank you for sharing your thoughts
I do think he was taken advantage of on several occasions .
I will always love him❤❤❤
Looking good Lass .. Always a Elvis Fan ❤ 🙂😊
Love your channel
Hi Michelle- sorry to change tack but just watching 1965 Shindig tribute to Elvis as a 10 year anniversary special. It’s a really good tribute with many artists (Sonny and Cher, Willie Nelson, Glen Campbell etc)of the time doing Elvis numbers. Some of the singers have faded into obscurity. You can find it on TH-cam.
Bad. Fate. Shame. End. Priss. Wich. Elvis. Love.
Hi Michelle, hope all is well with you and your family. Miss watching your videos.
Hi Michelle, I agree with you, we are all only human. ❤❤❤ Grace from Canada
Just to let you know the Elvis hologram show is being put back to 2025 March next year Elvis Revolution has been put back
i love your " I LOVE ELVIS" T-Shirt! where can I get one?? Going to Graceland soon.
Gracias 🇪🇸españa
You make some good observations!
Very eloquently put, i like your perspectivè🎉
Hi Michelle, not sure if you have seen the event on Tuesday 15th October in London an evening with Riley Keough re Lisa’s book launch
Hope that you can make it
No pity from me towards Elvis.
I hope you understand what I mean.🎶 I Did It My Way🎶😊💖
hope you are ok, missing your uploads

Hi Michelle not seen ur videos for ages
Just missed it :(
He sure moved like Desi Arnez and in his later years he looked like Desi Arnez Jr.
I had seen that video with Sally and couldn't agree with her more about everything. No pity for Elvis and stop making everyone the villain. Elvis was human just like the rest of us
