The ute has some amazing features, other manufacturers should take note. Nice review Adrian

Why are the paint options $1250 in nz? They are only $750 in aus! I can almost understand the Ute being more expensive in nz (longer shipping distances, lower volume, different tax schemes etc), almost understand but there is still a substantial price difference. But there is no way it should be that much more expensive to choose a paint colour. It’s not costing them more to ship those paint options to nz. Is it just another example of the land of the long rip off?

It sounded fine when I listened to the radio. I didn’t crank it right up though. Specs say it has Dynaudio. 12 speakers.

I don’t think it has enough buttons 😂 I still want one but why have the massive techy screen and then duplicate everything with a physical switch. Less is more!

If this ute was $5 cheaper than a Ford or Toyota Australians would buy it in the millions because that gives them another $5 to spend on drugs or alcohol in Bali.

like idea of this dual cab ,,,, HERE IS THE BUT ! BYD the company has a really bad build record and that is a fact ! you don't have to be a rocket scientist to get the info , just go look around the net , so i will wait a couple of years to see how it pans out , i would strongly suggest you all do the same !

Calling BS on that. They sell like hot cakes because of their build quality near 4 million made so far. Nearly outselling teslas

    it is NOT a UTE
Utes have not been made since Holden and Ford stopped making Falcon and Commadores

That's how the "ute" name started in Australia and NZ, but it's been used to describe "pickups" for decades ever since.

Anything which is a derivative vehicle other than trucks and has a tub or open tray on the back has been called a Ute, short for utility vehicle, for a few decades. Remember the Brumby, Ford Anglia Ute, Austin Cambridge and the Commer. No doubt they started as sedan/wagon 2 wheel drive derivative vehicles but the Hilux came to Australia in 1968 and was called a Ute. That’s 57 years ago.
