So many gems in this video! I’m always a bit hesitant to try new games on BGA because I feel the interface and implementations are much more often a bit frustrating than great (especially on mobile, which I really value). But I will definitely try at least 5 of the games mentioned here! For what it’s worth, my BGA faves that weren’t mentioned: - 7 Wonder Architects - Captain Flip - Loco Momo - Pax Pamir
Ronald pointed out at his #8 one of my favorite things about BGA: you can't miss a rule or mess up the scoring. I get to play more complicated games than my friends are willing to try. Railroad Ink doesn't work for me for the same reason that I don't like building houses in The Sims. I can't visualize how to lay out things so they will fit properly in a space. I know there are other games with a similar mechanic, but Railroad Ink is more difficult to me for some reason. Cubirds was one of the first games our family played together on BGA and we liked it enough to buy it. I like playing it at the table, too, but you need a lot of space if more than two of us play. As a result, I don't really focus on other players at the table. On BGA, I really do play to thwart the other player. Hey, Jesse -- Orleans is in beta. I am currently slogging through a game. I realized on my 3rd turn that I don't understand it, but I keep clicking through so the other players can finish their game. If I asked my group, SOLO would probably be on their list. We get rowdy on the video call when we play that! For a while, I preferred Can't Stop Express over Can't Stop (I have 190 plays), but I am starting to like the original again. BTW, some of my favorites on BGA that you guys didn't mention are SETUP, Sagani, Sea Salt and Paper, and Spots.
I am always up for a game. I mostly do turn-based now. Greybeard1970, if we aren't friends already. Thanks for the video. I've yet to play a game with a UI I didn't like. One of the great things about BGA with a game that has multiple expansions/variations, you can easily set up a game with whatever options you want.
Thanks for the list, never heard of Dingo's Dreams but just tried it and thought it was fun. P.S. Orleans is indeed now in Beta so you're safe from BGA jail.
