Looking forward to this as so many people use WTC 7 as "proof" of a conspiracy. I don't get it personally as a collapse of two 110 story buildings would compromise the structure of buildings near by from the vibrations alone and that's ignoring falling debris and fire.

Debris from the WTC1 and WTC2 collapses damaged the buildings around them, including WTC7, and started major fires which were left to burn for seven hours. The heat weakened internal core steel columns in one part of the building failed vertically. And then the now unsupported adjacent columns failed laterally. The debris from the steel frame collapsing pierced the now freestanding outer shell near the base and it finally collapsed.

I can't believe a video with Hulk executing the Trade Center is the only video in 22 years to explain this in a way that seems logical. The question was always: if the floors pancaked, where was the steel core? The sagging floor demonstrating pulling the walls inwards makes a LOT of sense.

    • @tonyduncan9852
      @tonyduncan9852 ปีที่แล้ว +138

The planes engines blew through the towers. Heavy components took out or distorted many core columns, the others descended by being dragged down by the external walls _through_ the top hat truss. It was my first thought too - but I am an engineer . . . and thought again.

The steel core remained for a few minutes before also giving out, likely from joints no longer being within tolerance and also falling like a house of cards. You can see it happen in real time with the NBC coverage of the collapse. Once the smoke clears a little bit, you can clearly see the cores failure.

    • @MFitz12

You are incorrect. Only the North Tower had any asbestos in it at all and only below the 40th floor. The SFRM used in the rest of the North Tower and ALL of the South Tower contained no asbestos material. Plenty of toxins floating around that site. Why people have to just jump to assumptions about asbestos and ignore true and relevant facts boggles my mind.

It was assumed until that day that when terrorists hijack a plane, they do it to use the passengers as bargaining leverage - they want something and will trade passengers to get it. That is why the standard procedure for passengers was to not try to fight the hijackers: you are worth more to the hijacker alive than dead, unless you start to cause problems for them. So what was not imagined was terrorists hijacking a plane not to get the passengers but to get the plane itself. This is why the 9/11 terrorists chose flights that typically had low passenger volumes.
As soon as the passengers on United Flight 93 found out that they were not being taken hostage, but that the terrorists were going to kill everyone, the calculus changed and they heroically fought back. They gave their lives to save those at whatever the fourth target was. We all know now that if we are on a plane that someone tries to hijack, we all get out of our seats and overwhelm the hijackers with superior numbers.

This movement would only occur if the tower collapses from the bottom (nutjob theory of bombs on bottom floor) rather than from the top (what actually happenend: plane crash). Hi Diana, I did reply to your question to me on the other thread but will address it here too in case you've missed it. The only section of the building that reached freefall acceleration was the outer facade of the building which became detached from the main structure. This was simply the result of buckling. Fire fighters stated that a collapse was inevitable several hours prior to it falling, it really was that obvious. The sprinkler systems had been compromised & no attempts were made to stem the blaze that was confirmed on at least 16 of its floors & the building was left to freeburn..the fire-proofing was rated at 5hrs if I remember correctly. It actually burned for 7hrs before it fell, 2hrs beyond this. The reason it collapsed in the manner it did was down to the implementation of longspan beams used to create a large, open atrium. Longspan beams are more susceptible to fire for obvious reasons. Hope this helps.

@@dirkdiggler8260 Thnx for your reply here and on the other thread ❤️
I have replied on the other thread with a couple of queries. There is another other explanation here in this thread from You Tube Sucks but their explanation seems to be different from yours, which is confusing me🤔🤔
You say the facade was detached from the structure and they say that the external moment frame remained and this was the last part of the building to fall. Which is correct?
Also, you mention buckling but do not say which columns buckled or where these buckled. They say that column 79 buckled first then other internal columns buckled and that csused the collapse of the whole internal core structure and all floors which progressed into the collapse of most external columns until there was only 4 corner cjlmns supporting the external moment frame.
Is the the same buckling that you are meaning?
If the collapse of the whole building progressed from the failure of one intern column near the north east corner, can you please explain how a asymmetrical progressive collapse ends up in a symmetrical coolaose of the whole envelope of the building?
Also, how could the firemen know that internal column 79 would occur, which would lead to the whole building collapsing?

I also have an explanation fro Dirk Diggler but what he says seems to be different from your explanation, which is confusing me🤔🤔.

@@dianax266 - Your interest is clearly genuine and you do not appear to be engaging in discussion killing shenanigans so _you_ may feel free ask more than one question at a time.
Dirk and I are both saying the same thing, just in different ways and I suspect Dirk will agree on that. Perhaps that is where the confusion is coming in - he and I are approaching the same issues from different perspectives, and in a different sequence.
For example: Dirk says: _The only section of the building that reached freefall acceleration was the outer facade of the building which became detached from the main structure. This was simply the result of buckling_
That is dealing with the same event I describe in *Phase 4* and other than degree of detail we are both describing the same thing.
_Phase 4 : After about 10 seconds only the exterior moment frame - a hollow shell mostly supported by the _*_4 corner columns_*_ and quite unable to stand on its own - remains standing_ (The interior structure was now gone leaving only this shell). _Casual observers falsely believe the building is still there since little has changed externally. They are wrong. The top center of the north face with nothing behind to support it leans into the big empty, forming a V shape in the roofline. Then the _*_few remaining perimeter columns inevitably buckle_*_ under the strain. The moment frame drops onto the top of the 7-story tall debris pile_
Central core columns have all failed and dropped, taking the floors with them, leaving only the outer shell - supported primarily by just the 4 corner columns which inevitably buckled and gave way. It was this hollow shell that was briefly measured at an _average_ of free fall for 2.25 seconds. And that information tells you nothing about why the building collapsed.
The collapse only gives the illusion of being "symmetrical" if you only pay attention to the outer shell (which looks like a building but isn't). The _building_ is the stuff on the inside, not the skin on the outside. Remember, the first 10 seconds or so of the collapse - all the internal failures - are all happening inside those four walls and you can't see most of it. This is the part most people find the hardest to wrap their heads around and is quite different from the Twin Towers where most of what is happening can be easily seen.
The FDNY did not have any idea where the failures would start, only that they would. Building 7 was clearly unstable and collapse was deemed inevitable. How and where the collapse started are details.

Metal doesn't just instantly transform from cold to melted, it slowly weakens. The beams got hot and became easier to bend, which allowed the weight of the building and the plane to put enough pressure on them for them to snap.

That video is probably not going to happen, but if you like reading,... The unknown and unimportant Building 7, one of six to collapse and 9th of 10 destroyed on 9/11 confuses a lot of people. It was not famous, not a terrorist target, no one was killed in it and thus most people know very little about it, making them susceptible to utter bullshit.
When the North Tower collapsed at 10:28am it bombarded the steel framed Building 7 with thousands of tons of burning debris, badly damaging the south and west faces and starting building-wide fires burning out of control for the next 7 hours. With half the responding FDNY firefighters having been killed, others injured, units in disarray, much of their equipment destroyed, no water pressure, and the greater urgency of Search & Rescue efforts, firefighting efforts at B7 were abandoned as futile. The building wasn’t going to be saved and was left to its fate.
      th-cam.com/video/g_SvpwyC17M/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=MFitz
Collapse of a burning structure is always a concern for firefighters. Steel buildings subject to fire _rely on active fighting of the fires_ to survive. Left to their own devices they will collapse. Buildings are designed around 1 to 3 hours of fire resistance, allowing time for occupants to escape and _ACTIVE firefighting_ to get started, after which all bets are off. In B7 the occupants escaped, passive and active fire protections were compromised and *active firefighting never got started* which left the building to take its chances. It lost. Odds on Building 7 would eventually collapse,… and it did. No big deal in logic. That is the sort of choice firefighters make every day in brush fire situations - which houses to save and which ones to let go. Only real difference here is moving the decimal on the size and cost.
*FDNY Chief Daniel Nigro* ; _The biggest decision we had to make on the first day was to clear the area and create a collapse zone around the severely damaged 7 World Trade Center, a 47 story building heavily involved in fire. A number of fire officers and companies assessed the damage to the building. The appraisals indicated that the buildings structural integrity was in serious doubt. I issued orders to PULL BACK the firefighters and define the collapse zone. It was a critical decision; We could not lose any more firefighters. It took a lot of time to PULL EVERYONE OUT, given the emotionalism of the day, communications difficulties and the collapse terrain_
*FDNY Deputy Chief Peter Hayden* - _We had our special operations people set up surveying instruments to monitor, and see if there was any movement in the building. We were concerned of the possibility of collapse in the building. And we had a discussion with one particular engineer there, and we asked him if we allowed it to burn could we anticipate a collapse and if so, how soon? And it turned out that he was pretty much right on the money, that he said 'In its current state you have about 5 hours_
With its deteriorating condition being reported throughout the day, the collapse of Building 7 expected by the FDNY, bystanders and the media. Which meant at least 24 video cameras recorded some or all of the collapse. Everyone at the time knew what was coming and why.
      th-cam.com/video/OY5S5k3tMHI/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=911InvestigationVids
Building 7’s collapse was totally different to the Twin Towers, harder to understand and most of the details difficult to see. This does not mean however, we can’t sort out what happened through careful analysis and observation before, during and after the collapse. What follows is *MY EXPLANATION* of the collapse sequence using the best available information and relying on no authority.
B7 was complex structure, a 47-story building built on top of a smaller existing 3-story building, requiring several lower floors dedicated to complex load transfer structures instead of usable office space. Of trapezoidal shape and all-steel tube-in-tube construction, B7 (above the 7th floor) consisted of a central core of steel columns carrying most of the gravity load, perimeter steel columns around the outside of the structure carrying the remainder of the gravity loads and long span beams and girders to tie those elements together and form the floors. On the outside of the building hung a moment frame - the last part of B7 to fall.
*Phase 1* : Collapse initiation for B7 is *notably quiet* with observers not realizing the building was collapsing! There was no audible warning in the form of say hundreds of eardrum busting 180-190dB explosive bangs preceding the collapse. The first externally visible signs of collapse initiation occurred at 5:20:28 pm. Here at 12:00 a local CBS affiliate reporter is talking 10 blocks from B7 when collapse begins. People don’t start to notice the collapse until 12:11. Then at 12:45 is the famous CBS fixed camera clip of Building 7’s collapse Again, note how quiet it is.
      th-cam.com/video/t5tEy6mXSE8/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=fresnosean379
Collapse initiation was due to multiple lower floor failures above the load transfer region (7th floor) in the NE corner of the building. In this video at 0:45 you can see the NW corner from inside the building while under construction, with Column 79 just out of frame on the left. That big angled steel beam across the top of the frame connects to Column 79 at one end. Those girders connect to the beam. That beam and all those girders _depend on just one connection_
      th-cam.com/video/nP3TNHPCIVU/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=EdwardCurrent
*Phase 2* : Lower floor failures left core Column 79 laterally unsupported over an excessive length and it buckled. If you look at a floor diagram of Building 7 (see above) and look at all the structures that depend on column 79 you quickly realize _this one column was a relatively isolated structural element on which a disproportionately greater fraction of the structure depended_ . Externally we see a vertical progression of window breakage along the 44-46 line and a kink in the roof of the East Mechanical Penthouse at the top of the building, consistent with C79 failure. The transition from full capacity to almost no capacity occurs in virtually an instant. *Once the buckling failure occurs there is almost no resistance*
Normally with a buckling column, the load could very well be redistributed to other columns, meaning the buckling could stop after a while. With C79 that is not the case - the failure did not redistribute the load, so the collapse rapidly progressed to the roofline, sinking the rooftop penthouse.
*Phase 3* : With C79 gone, B7’s progressive, non-symmetrical collapse continues with C80 and C81 at the east end of the core left laterally unsupported and quickly buckled and failed as well, sending the EMP down through the building. C79-81 all have no diagonal bracing, which I believe is a major reason why they could not redistribute a lot of vertical load among one another.
From there *collapse progressed from east to west through the central core until the core was gone* taking all of the interior floors and structures and probably most of the perimeter columns with it. You can see the horizontal progression of window failures low in the building and the dropping of the remaining rooftop structures into the building. One of the big takeaways from the NIST Building 7 study (that gets completely ignored) was their modeling which determined C79 failing under _ANY circumstances_ would have initiated the same collapse sequence.
*Phase 4* : After about 10 seconds only the exterior moment frame - a hollow shell mostly supported by the 4 corner columns and quite unable to stand on its own - remains, creating the illusion the building is still standing since little has changed externally. That’s just hollow empty shell. The north leans inward, forming a V in the roofline. The last remaining perimeter columns buckle under the strain so there is almost no resistance and the moment frame free falls, landing _on top_ of the 7-story high debris pile. This blocked surrounding streets, heavily damaged the Verizon Building and destroyed Fiterman Hall at 30 W. Broadway, all of that well outside of Building 7’s “footprint”. It is only here at the very end that a single measurement of alleged _free fall_ is taken.
Start to finish the collapse took 18-20 seconds, or *less than 1/3 of true free fall*. Not that we really care since how **_fast something falls cannot tell you what started it falling_** in the first place. The **_free fall_** argument is about the collapse of the outer shell AFTER *all* of the critical structure had already failed. It completely ignores about 80-90% - of the collapse. Folks who bang on about “free fall” don’t understand that on a fundamental level.
Building 7’s progressive, non-symmetrical collapse was incidental and unintended collateral damage due to the combined effects of fire + time + gravity started by the collapsing North Tower. That is *true no matter who planned and carried out the 9/11 attacks or why* . The collapse was of so little consequence it barely even registered at the time, a mere footnote.
You’re welcome. I sincerely hope this helped. Serious comment or questions are welcome, one point at a time please. No Gish Gallop whataboutisms.

    Good video.
One missing detail is that as the tower began to collapse, reverberations ran up and down it, like a taut spring. This energy mostly remains within the system, so the forces quickly become much more powerful than the materials' ability to resist these forces. So there was a LOT of distortion and shearing of materials happening very quickly with the first moment a floor dropper which almost instantaneously caused the collapse to become less localized and throughout the entirety of the structure.
Basically, within a couple of seconds, every floor of the building was just hanging in midair, and it all came down together, not in a pancaking manner.

EXACTLY the same thing except there wasn't any plane. The collapse of the twin towers initiated a fire in the WTC7 which wasn't controlled because the building was empty and everyone was already busy trying to save lived in the debris. So what happened is exactly the same thing: Fire melted the steals structure which was unfortunately designed as bad as the twin towers. Some firefighters even said they saw that the WTC7 was about to collapse because the same phenomenon as in this video was the steal columns was visible. Well you see, when something is going REALLY REALLY fast...

    • @PapaOystein
      @PapaOystein ปีที่แล้ว +19

The plane has mass and velocity - this gives rise to momentum (the simple product of m * v) and kinetic energy, E(kin) = 1/2 m * v^2; velocity is squared here, so the high speed of the planes is very important.
To stop the enormous momentum of that mass, and to dissipate the extreme kinetic energy, requires a hell lot of force - more than the building's steel structure was designed for. In fact, the designers KNEW already in the 1960s that a large jet plane would cut clean through the walls.
Notice how I haven't even begun to mention the "hardness" of the materials involved?
That's because it matters little: The plane could have been liquid (imagine, if you will, instead of fixed wings there are just wing-shaped rubber blades filled with jet fuel): It would still break through the steel walls! (You know that there are machines that cut steel using high-pressure / velocity water jets, right?).
So even IF the aluminium alloys of the plane's structure were as weak as you think, they do break through on account of their mass, high velocity and hence momentum and energy. Doesn't matter very much that the plane itself gets ripped to pieces.
BUT you are under a misapprehension: The alloys used in airliners are actually very very VERY strong - some are stronger than the strongest structural steels used in the WTC! I bet no "9/11 Truther" ever told you that fact, right?
If you imagine a plane is just a hollow skin of alu foil of the sort you find in your kitchen drawer, you are essentially mistaken. Underneath that skin, a plane of course has a very strong structure made of beams and trusses, much like a steel-frame building - only better! Because a plane must resist extreme dynamic forces in many situations.
I hope I gave you some good ideas to help you understandbetter :)

_"The buildings fell at free fall speed"_
Apart from the fact that there is no such thing as free fall speed, none of the towers collapsed at free fall acceleration.
_"check out how material was ejected laterally from the building"_
There were no ejections. I admit that it does look like that every now and then. Yet, if you would take a look at the overhead pictures taken immediately after the collapses, you will see full slabs of connected perimeter panels covering the ground. What we see is not ejection, but falling.
_"just how the much of the building was pulverized to dust."_
Probably most of the sheetrock was indeed turned into dust. This is also what the several dust analysis studies show us. 70% of the dust was Ca, the main ingredient for both sheetrock and concrete.
_"Then there's the witness accounts from the firemen who were inside the buildings before, during and after the collapse."_

I think another factor besides the size of a plane hitting the buildings was it's speed. The planes that hit were travelling at about 500 mph which is is way above the speed a plane would be travelling at basically sea level. A plane at low level has either just taken off or is coming in to land so would be travelling at maybe less than 200 mph. That makes a huge difference to the force of the impact and therefore on the damage caused.

Another was the bomber was trying to land after getting lost in the fog (this is what led to flashing lights at the top of buildings). Sabin Matthew has a series of major errors in his thinking. The ablative foam thermal protective coating on the steel would have protected it much longer, as it did with tower 7, but the coating was hard and brittle, and most of it was shattered off of the steel in the impact zones by the force of the explosions. Tower 7 burned many times longer before collapsing.
Sabin's worst error is the statement about the size of the airliners involved. At 10:50 in the video, it's said that the Boeing 707 is "half the size of the one that actually hit." This is blatantly false; the most common variants of each, 707-320B and 767-200ER, are very little different.
    To summarize the aircraft:
The maximum takeoff weight for a Boeing 707-320B is 336,000 pounds.
The maximum takeoff weight for a Boeing 767-200ER is 395,000 pounds.
The wingspan of a Boeing 707 is 146 feet.
The wingspan of a Boeing 767 is 156 feet.
The length of a Boeing 707 is 153 feet.
The length of a Boeing 767 is 159 feet.
The Boeing 707 could carry 23,000 gallons of fuel.
The Boeing 767 could carry 23,980 gallons of fuel.
    The cruise speed of a Boeing 707 is 607 mph = 890 ft/s,
    The cruise speed of a Boeing 767 is 530 mph = 777 ft/s.
The REAL difference between the engineers' test and the incident was the engineers' assumption that the collision would be accidental; it wasn't. The test was for what they considered to be the most likely scenario; a 707 near the end of its flight, with most of its fuel used up and slowed down to landing approach speed (161 mph) in poor visibility. What happened was a 767 very near the start of a long flight, with nearly a maximum fuel load, flying in clear air and broad daylight, at full throttle top speed (558 mph); a worst case scenario that the engineers had no logical reason to consider.
