I get slightly different results with my carrot. Copper 1¢ at 2 1/4". Zinc 1¢ at 2 3/8". Nickel at 2 3/4". Clad 10¢ at 2". Clad 25¢ at 2 1/4". Silver 50¢ at 2 3/4". Mine is about 5 years old, with fresh battery. In any case, Dr. Otek directional depth is better!!
So I ran the test again with the Garrett and got these new results: Zinc penny at 2 1/4", memorial penny at 2.0" , nickel at 3.0", quarter at 2 1/4" and the half dollar at 2.5". I am satisfied with these second results and yours. I should've tried 3 times and get an average for each coin. I have no idea why I got such low readings the first time. Anyways, I still think that Dr.Otek's new pinpointer is at least as good as the Garrett Propointer AT.
so what we saying guys. between the 2 can you tell me if you was buying one today. which one would it be?? after tests what would you both go with? I'm ordering tomorrow a new pin pointer and I'll go with you guys on this🤔🤔🤔
@@Toon-Tony Dr. Ötek's pointer is not yet in the market. It is still in testing stage. The Garrett is for me better that anything in the market currently.
Great vid! Thank you for taking the time to do this. I just received my MT6 pro this evening. I’m glad I picked this one now. lol When I was looking at these on Amazon I almost just bought their cheaper ones. Then I figured I should spend a little more and get the MT6 pro. I paid 50 bucks for it, so it’s not the cheapest one out there. I just didn’t want to spend what Garrett wanted for one. Thank you again.
I have both of these pinpointers. Got the otek due to it being cheap when released. I find the dr. otek falses almost constantly on my soil here in NW Oregon. It may work ok in loose dry sand or tot lots but not in my soil. In my opinion it is not better than the Garrett at all.
Nice idea with the yardstick to measure. We just video tested the new Nokta Accupoint against the Garrett 🥕 but in more of a look then measure method since I only had a metallic tape measure handy
Danny, although Mark and I retested with the Garrett, the Dr. Ötek MT6-Pro still showed a deeper detection. Of course in the field it could be another story that needs test as well! Thank you for watching!
@@WishMeLuckMetalDetecting I've left a message and a question on marks post. if you could please read and just let me know. thanks for the video really good to see but now I'm just not sure even after the video🤔🤔🤔 much appreciated and hope you guys having a good Xmas
@@WishMeLuckMetalDetecting I still haven't used my detector. I brought it with me to Chicago last year in hopes that you'd show me how to use it. I am in the gym 3-4 nights a week. I've lost 23 pounds so far.
Not surprised. The ProPointer has been outclassed many times over by now. I’m not sure why people still buy them other than stellar marketing by Garrett
Sorry, but I own both of these, and air test or not, thoe Dr. Otek was almost horrible in tje field. It wasnt accurate at all, had to practically be touching the target. I keep it as a spare or backup, but honestly I haven't used it since i got another garrett carrot, in fact i dont even know where the Otek is right now. First hand news from a person who actually used it in the soil, it wasnt better than the Garrett. Not even close.
I agree. In the dirt it's not got great depth. Additionally I have found it to be extremely sluggish. You have to stop over a target for about a second or more before it reacts. Means you can't sweep for a pinpoint. You have to stab and wait, stab and wait. Not impressed at all.

@@Toon-Tony Happy hunting!
I just wish that these air tests would be done with the coin or object coming in towards the pointer instead of going away.

Wow, the Dr. Otek beat the Garrett! That's very interesting, Roberto!❤️

Just got it for Father's day and it's doing its job, color me impressed and under $40.00 so can't complain at all.
Like 18 Maestro. Interesante test. Yo tuve que cambiar mi pinpointer por lo mismo, no era tan potente. Un abrazo grande desde Chile.
Todos tienen sus debilidades.
Like to see a true Test...in the ground..good job
TEK POINT is the only pointer I will use , it is the best pointer period , cost is about 100.00 more but totally worth it in my opinion.
Would have been interesting to see how both strike on gold
It’s good 👍
Yeah! But the buttons are too sensitive! That's the only problem I noted!
wow I didn't see that one coming🤔🤔
Please read Mark's comment and my reply. Yet, Dr. ÖTEK's was still better in all tests.
