I have one doing kinda the same thing and goes off when near the ground and sometimes in the air. Gonna test it one more time before sending it back. I turned on the balance button and it worked for a bit. The balance seems to reduce sensitivity.
Turned out the it was mine Minelab X-Terra pro that was causing it to go nuts. Worked fine it I turned it off. I sent that back long ago and got a Garrett Carrot.
I just got this pinpointer, took it out this morning. It continues to go off for no reason. Have to shut it off and turn it on to reset it. Probably going back to my cheap-o Kuman (GP)
I’ve watched several other reviews. They did not run into the same issue with going off in mid air. I got rid of my garret for that exact reason. Glad you are well. See you next video.

The pointer is in the development stage and they said they wanted my experience with the pointer and maybe I had a defective one. The company sent me a message that they are going to work on the issue. I’m going to keep using it because that balance key function did seem to work when the pointer was going off in mid air.

take off your rings on your digging hand when using pinpointer it will false constantly if your scanning a handfull of dirt with a ring on your finger
