I have a Honda ht3813 and I had to replace the starter on it, so I went online and an OEM starter is almost $400 (American) so I ended up getting a Chinese copy and put it in, so I put the starter in and the motor back in the frame and almost got everything back together until I realized that I forgot to put the motor mount on that goes behind the starter. So everything came back apart. I love the thing now and it runs and drives great!
Lookin good Doc! Those Hondas (even though it was a pain in the ass for the starter) would seem to be fun to work. Just for the challenge that they aren't like any other setup I have ever seen on a lawn tractor!
I've never been hands-on with one, but I'm under the impression that it's fundamentally the same machine but with a 10hp air-cooled single. I would imagine that it wouldn't take too much to make it happen.
You're going to think I am nuts. I acquired a very cheap 3813 (engine had blown, and was never fixed, and frame partly cut.. ) perfect for an EV conversion and then I lengthened the frame by 9 inches just forward of steering gear xmember. Why? You may ask... To put a 10 cubit ft wheelbarrow on it 🤪. I am going to power it with an alternator and 36v Nissan Leaf module. Biggest issue is it came with non slpined 10inch rear wheels that look good but will slip with any real weight (I did say it was cheap lol). I want to put 10 inch (3inch stud space) Atv wheels but most Atv hubs are 24 spline, this has 21 splines. Modifying 8inch rims to make hubs was my first thought, but no one has any available, and used ones are expensive because they only come with another tractor 🥴. I thought about sleeving to 7/8ths & cutting keyways & other ideas. I am in Canada. Just wonder if you have seen a solution for these or know any hubs off something else that fit.
but will it in fit my honda civic (jokes, I don't own a road legal motor vehicle, just a couple lawn mowers I got used (a toro wheel horse 14-38 HXL that I got for $free and a craftsman that has no model number for $75))
....not only "and they were two"... but he's got one other honda frame. Frank was the very first. So now he's got two left-over honda frames............................. and two diesel engines (which of-course he can't quiet yet figure-out where to put them..... or sell some.... to make room for the some he want/need to keep) Anyway, tarp is a lot way cheaper than riding around trying to find anything worthy enough to keep em under it tarp ;)
