I am so sorry for your loss, I too lost my dad 3 years ago and my mum last year. They were my best friends, I was so blessed having them as parents. I use the wisdom they taught me every day in my life and with my own son and hopefully with my first grandchild coming into the family! I wear something of my mum and dad's every day, like a pair of earrings or one of my dads shirts when I am doing chores in the house, I have tried to use the ordinary things that we had in our family home as it keeps those memories alive like small ornaments even kitchen things! These items formed memories from when I was a child and it is like a piece of that time frame is still there when I use these items! I hope that you find peace and are able to think of the memories with them with happiness and gratitude, even if it takes a while! God bless!

Agreed! I was only 12 when this song was initially released and almost 30 years later it still has a strong impact on me. Songs and music are so closely related to important times in our lives and our bodies forever store those memories and emotional connections.

My favorite DB song by a fair stretch. I bought this on cassingle when I was 15 and love it just as much now as I did then. Such an urgent song in terms of how it builds.
This is one of those songs that lives completely free of rent in my head. So much nostalgia growing up in the 90's, even if this was a "background" song for us Gen-x ers living in Aus, this man and this song gave us something to think about.

This rocks the stocks. If it wasn't for this song, I'd be "meh" about Daryl Braithwaite. Maaaaybe 'Rise' would catch some of my attention. This took him to the next level. Can sense some passion in the singing and, even on his other songs, at least his enunciation is clear. Embarrassing that that even has to be mentioned yet, nowadays, it does.
