Is there a special recorder needed for this type camera? I was told by a “tech” company that facial recognition recorder would be needed for this camera to work.
For license plates, we always recommend going with a camera designed for license plates. You'll be able to record license plates with a 25x PTZ, but it won't recognize the plates or the text. It'll be a lot of manual work on your part if you're looking for a specific plate. As for motion blur, it depends on the frame rate. This LPR shoots at 60fps, so motion blur isn't an issue. Depending on the speed of the cars, you should be able to go lower, say 30 fps.
This video is misleading because you have the LPR pointing directly at the plate with very little angle if any and no other lighting in the area. You should do a more realistic video like the one shown here: th-cam.com/video/-qJsvBW05RI/w-d-xo.html

...and what rights are those exactly? Plates are "PUBLIC", shown in "PUBLIC", visible in "PUBLIC".. enlighten the community with your surpassed wisdom please!
You have NO expectation of privacy when in public! Learn the law. I wish I had this tech 2 weeks ago when someone decided it was OK to fire their gun from a moving vehicle into my woods. My camera caught the event as I hit the floor cuz they were so close to my house but my camera could get the plate because the tail lights bloomed badly and made the plate unreadable

Good overview. I wish manufacturers would bake in the ability to switch from day to night mode based on GPS location and sunrise/sunset times.
Another best on the internet guide for Uniview; well done Nelly's Security!

So you don’t tell us how many feet? You don’t show us with street lights with building lights. Pitch dark always looks great in Night Vision!

Shouldn't be reading anyone's plates. You're part of the problem of them slowly taking people's rights away.

Piss off. Not everyone lives in the city. When your neighbors are a mile and half away, you’re a potential target for meth heads.
... aaand what will you do when you have a stalker situation and you need an evidence including car's license plate??? Please advise me!
