- In this video I show you how I converted a cheap second-hand gas barbecue into an adjustable braai (barbecue) for cooking on coals, using a few bits and pieces from my local hardware shop.
From a uruguayan to an African.Love it!!!
Fantastic! Great to see a DIY take that has all the function needed. Fabrication from scratch is great but this is a great example of what can be done if you just want the outcome.
Thank you for making videos that help people build. Only thing I would say is to NOT use galvanized metals on any kind of BBQ. Galvanizing coating is very toxic when super heated and can actually drip off of the metals. Other then that very handy build.
Mate, hi
What about the grill? Can I use any steel? Because I’m afraid to rust everything and then I need to cook on top of rust
Any recommendations?
Thanks
Great work mate . Thinking like a true Aussie now . Always have a stubby holder close by cheers
Love it thanks for sharing! Will be doing that back in South Africa!
Thanks for the video!
Nice one boet. Going to build one of these in Hawaii. Lekker
Great stuff, Barry. Thanks for the inspiration. I was specifically looking for ideas about how to convert a (broken) gas grill into a parilla. I appreciate your having shared your knowledge in this rather specific regard. Theodore
Gracias por mostrar ese gran proyecto😊😊😊
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video ser.
Nice job and nice explanation. Thanks for sharing!
Really nice, well done. I would like to see the actual construction details as would prefer to do as little welding ad possible. Can you post detailed pics somewhere?
That is bloody awesome!
Sweet rig!
Great video what size diameter rod did you use for lifting the meat rack? Thank You
Nice design I’m researching too to build myself one but much larger because a have a big family. Lol
This is Awesome, thank you for sharing. I know it’s been a while since you posted this, but anyway you could share the detail around the grill frame? The way the wire hold to the grill
You can't hide talent !!!!
Good on ya mate!
Nice.
Thank you for contribution.
Very clever!
Love it
how did you connect the rod to the fence tightener
Welding galvanize can make you sick. Cooking on it could very well do the same. Just giving you a heads up mate. Great idea overall.
On ya Barry
Would you be interested in building another for me
very rusty?
