BMW F3x (F30, F31, F32, F33, F34 & F36) Hidden Menu and MPG Correction Factor

- This video will show you how access the hidden menu of your F3x and adjust the correction factor to stop your OBC telling you lies!
To work out your unlock code you need to add the last 5 digits of your VIN together, for example:
The last 5 digits of your VIN are 11111, so 1+1+1+1+1, your unlock code is 5
The last 5 digits of your VIN are 12345, so 1+2+3+4+5, your unlock code is 15
Hi Jake, the hidden menu shows error codes option. Do you know, or any of the followers may know if they can be read from here, without buying a diagnostic scanner. I went into the error code but it looks like it's still censored iE DTC error code : first line 01 ******
Where did you get 5 - 28?? I’m so lost. I know you got five from the last 5 of your vin added up. But it sounded like you said 5 - 28, and then you put 28???

@@guap7182 it’s the last 5 added up. Mine was 01115 so it’s 8. I just put in 8 and it worked
His happens to be 28, separate from his example of 5.
So, as an example, he was saying that if the last five of your VIN was 11111 then you would use 05 as your unlock code. His happens to be 28. The formula is to simply add the last five digits of your VIN together to get your unlock code.

By the way, what's the meaning of the blue battery that is in the consumption gauge?
When you decelerate. The blue line will turn into a full blue bar. This just means that your battery is charging. Deceleration only. Hope this helps

I cant understand how you get to 28. Please explain the from vin(5digits) to where you get 2 digits to unlock. Exolain in comments please
Add the last 5 digits of your VIN together
If the last 5 digits of your VIN are 12345 then it will be 1+2+3+4+5 = 15 so 15 would be your unlock code

@@mustafabasaran06 That would be useful, would also like to know that one, as the OBC speed is different to the speedometer speed if you plug into the OBC port directly and read your speed, so there must be a correction factor somewhere ?

@@jakewisdom3027 what do i need for this, just how many miles i did, plus the full tank size 60L, is that all
Brim the tank, then run the tank down close to empty, then brim the tank again. Work out your MPG from that.
