Hi I’m new to your channel and I love seeing people that look like me living their best life. I would definitely say look storage in IKEA and Target as they have storage ideals for small spaces. There is another family I follow that have some great ideas when I come across it I will definitely drop it in the comments. Can’t wait to see what you do with the space and follow along on the adventures.
Hello! Thank you so much! We are hoping to inspire more families to get on the road, because it is such a freeing experience! We are definitely going to Ikea as soon as we get near one again! We had a few storage ideas sent to us that we have to find!
12:14 Hey Family, A few questions: 1. Where do you hide all of the homeschool supplies? And what is your usual homeschool schedule? 2. What were some big choke points in the decision making process of what to let go off and what to keep from your house? 3. If you could buy the RV and truck all over again, then what would you do differently (save for a better down payment, a longer lease term for small easy-to-pay payments, save to buy outright for less bills to pay, etc.)? 4. How do you budget for all of this traveling?
Hey! I'm going to number the answers in the same order so I don't miss any. 1. While we are mostly stationary, the girls are in traditional school. We have begun to buy the kids supplies and rearranged some things since this video, the girls supplies are now in the dresser in the master bedroom. We moved the electronics, and replaced them with the supplies. The girls also have a pretty good book collection we will incorporate into their lessons. 2. Sentimental items were hard. We are a military family, so moving and downsizing furniture was not too hard, but I (Shereka) am a big softie , especially when it came to sentimental pieces for the family or thoughtful gifts to us. Full disclosure, we did keep a storage room so the sentimental items stayed there (1 container per person), and we only brought a few in the RV with us. Holiday/seasonal decorations were the other stop point, we had so much, but we chose just a few items for each holiday so it fit all in one storage tote under the master bed. It takes less to decorate, and multifunctional pieces are your friend, for example we have a light show that you just change the slide show and it's a new holiday. For everything else, if you haven't used it in over a year, I promise you won't miss it. 3. This one is hard, looking back, we would have brought them at different times, but also would have gone for the toy hauler as well. I think we also would have waited to buy until we had our home rented instead of paying on both for a while. I also think we would have started looking further in advance to get a used truck vs new. Since we brought our RV first, we were in a time crunch and had to take what we could get to tow it home. 4. Budgeting is very family dependent,, but we started budgeting by seeing what our expenses are before any traveling, include your savings in this, to budget backwards essentially. Once we knew what the number was left, we just didn't go over that. We do a lot of free or cheaper excursions, and tend to stay at state parks, and now boondocking, to save money where we can. But we will do the occasional resort after we save for it for a bit. We have known several people to do work camping as well and that works nicely to save on parking and earn extra money to explore. Big trips we just save for a while like we did in our home. I hope this helps! Let us know if we can answer any other questions
Hello, I am looking forward to how you guys organize the rig to fit your needs, I have thought about doing it however hubby is NOT on board so for right now I will just keep up with you guys lol. I also subscribed. God Bless!
We've been full-time after retirement..you guys have a beautiful family..im excited for you guys..we love living full-time..and we've been able to see America 🇺🇸
Hello…we are full time travelers/content creators also. No children, but we know all too well the struggle of organizing the camper. Just subscribed and look forward to seeing your updates.
Hi just came across a family of 4 in the same RV. They took out the bottom shelves in the pantry and put in a combined washer and dryer in there. You don’t sacrifice the cupboard in the main room. Please let me know if you have received the suggestions so far
This is so awesome! I'm looking forward to watching you guys get organized and situated in your new home. I drive truck OTR, so I live out of it most of the year. When I'm home in West Michigan, I usually stay with my sister or my daughter and son-in-law. That said, I am seriously considering a small or mid-sized Class C for full-time living and travel.
We can definitely do a video on how we brought ours! The loan itself was actually not too bad, we did disclose to the bank and insurance we would live in ours with no issues. The manufacture we brought is thankfully one that covers full-time living so that may have helped us.
Nice!! I can't wait to get out and about with my family and on solo travels. I am currently building out my minivan and documenting the journey on my youtube channel.
❤Nice video, thanks for sharing! Ironically, your husband looks just like my older brother. Lastly, my suggestion is to declutter. You will probably have to store some of the items in a separate storage unit if you cannot part with them. (Btw, can you show us what is going on with the outside of your home.)
That's too funny about my husband! And thank you for the suggestion. As soon as we get it out the shop we are starting a new round of decluttering and recording the entire RV.

Thank you! Start small, it'll help make it easier to get the house done. This took us about 3 months to get this done.

We haven't seen that yet! That is a pretty smart idea because you only lose one shelf instead!
Nice! Thank you for sharing!

That is amazing! Once the kids move out, we did say we will likely go down to a Class C, they are so nice!
Wow! New subscriber here. My husband and I just purchased a 5th wheel. It’s SO EXCITING!!! Tfs 😊

Great video 📹...hope to see you on the road 🏕✌🏿
Thank you! We hope so too!
You can use individual baskets for all small things
Where do you get yours? We have had such a hard time finding smaller ones for the cabinets
