I've never seen a new Harley no matter what trim price point that didn't need at least 2 of the 3 things I just mentioned to make it right. I wish you could go to the dealer, test ride the model you like and if they had a setup that was like a mock up bike for each frame, say Softail, RG, SG, and RK that had quick detach seats and handlebars, then the so called "Fit Specialist" could set you on the bike and swap out several seat and handle bar combinations until you find what you like. Then you make a deposit and order a brand new Harley Davidson custom tailored to fit you. I'd be willing to pay a premium to get that part right the first time. Sucks too where I'm at all 3 dealers stopped doing dyno tuning, the used to be able to put your bike on a dyno in the shop and tune it. They definitely need to remember that their customer base is the ordinary average guy though, and changing the base color to Primer With Clearcoat really pissed me off, they need to make LED lighting standard across all models, black the base color, put normal analog speedo's back on all the Softails and a full sized analog tac. I bought an XL in it's last year and I love that little EVO for its simplicity, now I want a Road King with a windscreen and the passing lights, normal bags with the guards and engine guard. They need to make a couple of touring models minus all the gee wiz stuff that always causes problems. Is it really too much to ask for an old school rude, fast, and loud Harley new off the showroom floor?
Try using the custom bike builder on the Harley site. It is the most depressing thing on Earth. They have tons of parts that they sell that aren't offered on that site at all. Some bikes only offer one seat or no seat to exchange for the stock one. I have no idea what they're thinking
I’m stuck I have a 2020 SG CVO 117 bone stock. I’m torn on whether to build into the 131 , with proper exhaust, tune etc. possible turbo. Or buy up to the 121 . I hate having the older 117 when regular HDs now have it.
When that CVO Goldwing comes out I’m gonna be excited… wait, what? 😂 I agree Ben they are watering down what was supposed to be a “select” lineup of premium bikes. Very well done sir.
Yea that work make is the one that is buying 90% of what they are selling and with the economy the way it is, that's why there so many CVOs on the show room floors. Crazy you found one dealership with 20 of them.
I just checked. Manchester Harley today as a follow-up for a video that I'm putting out tomorrow and they still have 24 CVOs from 2023 in there and they have six 2024 ones. So all in all they have 30 CVOs just sitting on the floor waiting for someone to buy them
HD doesn't have a crack team and I'm not paying HD an over inflated price to be there test dummy. Been riding HD for 30yrs and still have 2 of the 3 I have owned. It has become apparent that they have given up on trying to polish a terd and have taken to throwing glitter on it. Neither one works.
I think the company is a massive joke today. I can say that from experience. Been with Harley since 2011.3 new bikes one used. Now own a 2023 Roadglide-ST. I’m not at all happy with Harley’s direction.
@@BikesBeardsAndBrews That's true, dealers I have been to are loaded with new bikes and plenty of CVOs. Not going to buy a new bike, just too expensive for the marginal quality. raising prices to pay for all that debt they pulled with all the sock buybacks the last several years in a row.... Yeah getting rid of the road. King standard is a poor idea. Is there people that just love that bike? No, nothing special. No crazy bells and whistles but Harley wants you to buy that stuff so they're not giving you a choice
Being new to the HD world I had no idea there was a waiting lists for those CVO's. Almost everyone I know that has one grabbed a used one. That white CVO ST does look sharp. Its 44k just to secure bragging rights? I see tons of those Silver CVO's on dealer floors everywhere. I thought there were less then 500 or something. Saturating the market is not a good idea.
The waiting lists were years back and not always a waiting list. A lot of times it was people just so excited to get one. They would put down money knowing that their dealership was only going to get a few. Now dealerships are getting dozens so there's no point
This is awesome. The most crybaby replies I have ever received were on ironbornrider cvo video from the other day where i said all this cvo stuff was crazy while Harley can't even build a new Rev Max bike that anyone wants to buy. They should be bringing the Bronx to the market. A super cruiser with 17" wheels, the 1250 engine, 35 degrees of lean angle, and looks like a dyna. You know, like that Buell super cruiser everyone wants! But nope. We get a bunch of new cvo models? Good night Harley. It was a good run.
@@robbyclark6915 think of it this way. If they made it the price tag would be 26k plus. Yes it would be cool. But if I'm buying a street fighter style bike its gonna be for 10 grand less and have much better performance. The livewire is the fastest bike Harley every produced and we can't give them away. They are really cool but noone wants to BUY them. So I will rephrase. Everyone wants the bronx but noone will want to pay for one.
@justaguy5377 I disagree, but there's really only one way to find out. I doubt they would price it that high. Probably 20k. I would buy it! I would pay more for a Harley than a Yamaha or Honda. Not everyone wants the cheapest bike on the market. Some of us will pay that extra if it's a Harley Davidson. Besides that, they definitely aren't selling that Sportster S or the nightster, or the pan America, but they sure keep making them. Now they think a cvo pan America is gonna fix things? Noone wants a cvo PA and that's for sure. The Bronx is the bike Harley should have taken a chance on, not the Sportster S or the pan America. I have been waiting 3 years for them to put that engine in something I want to spend my money on and I'm still waiting.
I just got a brochure from Harley in the mail and it looks like the street glide and road glide non cvo models for 2024 will have the cvo fairing and bags and skyline os standard along with the 117 being standard now. That sucks for everybody who just bought a brand new 2023 model.
I actually mentioned that a few videos back that the 2023 models were having a huge issue being sold and I feel like a lot of people just skipped out on them knowing that these bikes were coming out this year. For those who weren't paying attention last year, I do feel bad for them
Yeah, there really seems to be a flooding of the market with these. And honestly, if all these 2023s do not sell soon, they're going to be sitting on the floor for a long time because let's face it in a few months. Anyone looking for a CVO is just going to wait another month or two until the 2024s drop
cvo-pan america only makes sense IF...(biggest if i could type) if the pan america has PREMIUM accessories like custom roll-cages, bigger gas tank (like a lot bigger) high end aux lights, custom gps, basically all the really functional high end shit from a BMW / Ducati / etc... adventure bikes but i don't see it happening that way 🤷🏻♂ i've been lucky with my CVO so far, i'm sitting at 7k miles and haven't had any issues outside the typical shit. There was a brake light recall on mine and some electronic garbage but nothing that kept the bike from running or running differently.
Fingers crossed and knock on wood for you. I hope that bike keeps running with no issues. And yeah I I could agree that the Pan America would be worth it as a CVO with all that stuff. Although at that point why call a CVO? Why not call it something that points out the fact that it's more designed to be an off-road beast like the Pan, America, overlander or something like that
@@BikesBeardsAndBrews agreed, and of course neither of what you or I are saying will happen and your likely right, it'll be a fancier paint job to take off road, but hey...the what ifs are fun 🤣

Harley is in trouble. Big trouble! They are cutting models at record pace every single year. In two years they have cut about 10 models. Maybe more? They have the rev max engine that they are doing nothing with, but instead, are focusing on cvo models and streamlining the touring bikes. One RG and one SG that aren't cvo. Cutting lower profit bikes. Doing nothing with the rev max platform. Focusing entirely on high profit margin motorcycles. Either they plan to not compete in tbe real world anymore, or they just cannot afford to keep building motorcycles? Either way, spells the end of Harley Davidson as we know it.
They have cut models but at the same time they've introduced or reintroduced models. So yes, in one way they're scaling back but it seems like they're trying to find their stride but not quite nailing it
SO my Stealership has like 4 CVOs at least at the moment . Towards the end of last year they sold a CVO Streetglide and i was talking to my friend at the parts counter. I said how much ? thinking 45 ish was the costs roughly of the last one i heard had been sold . He said $60,000 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🤔😵💫Well you can tell the CEO that the people aren't making his kind of money. And where a CVO was a bit of a special rarity they are like two a penny now . Older bikers ( myself included) are keeping our older Harley's for the looks , and some of us can still work on them .Plus they are paid for . So Harley has all these mega expensive bikes but no takers especially youngsters that could no way in hell ever afford one . Now they will sell some ( law of averages) but not as many as they think they are going too. My 5 cents for inflation. 😎

Just purpose build it man! If you do a lot of long rides a 131 or 135 will just be a grenade
When that CVO Goldwing comes out I’m gonna be excited… wait, what? 😂 I agree Ben they are watering down what was supposed to be a “select” lineup of premium bikes. Very well done sir.
The CVO CVO is going to be the ultimate CVO and I can't wait for that CVO to come out
Harley should really fire their marketing team as well TBH
Yeah their marketing team are just clowns straight up clowns
@@BikesBeardsAndBrews marketing teams are, in general, clowns.
But I mean the glitter sparkles in the sunlight. I don't know what the issue is 😂
You're right, you want something special, but when it's to special and everyone has one it's no longer special.
It's even worse is when it's something special, but it's so flooded that people aren't even buying it
I think the company is a massive joke today. I can say that from experience. Been with Harley since 2011.3 new bikes one used. Now own a 2023 Roadglide-ST. I’m not at all happy with Harley’s direction.
Harley really needs to find a good balance and a new focus on value
Compared CVO to goldwing look at price and tell me what makes more sense.
Ohhhh no arguments there
From cycle trader, Motorcycle Nationwide With Year 2023 Matching Keywords Harley-Davidson Road Glide Cvo Cvo Road Glide Limited (Results: 3582)
😮
You are so right, between the dead wire, the Paris Dacar rally bike and the V-Rod 2.0 it's not working
They really need to find balance and that seems to be the thing that escapes them the most
CVOs just prove there is a sucker born every minute.
Apparently not as many suckers as they were hoping for because there are way too many cvos just sitting on the floor waiting
@@BikesBeardsAndBrews That's true, dealers I have been to are loaded with new bikes and plenty of CVOs. Not going to buy a new bike, just too expensive for the marginal quality. I am keeping my 2004 Dyna Wideglide with 125,000 miles on it. Bought it new and many miles of fun and adventure both alone and with my ol lady. Will ride a few more years, just turned 78.
raising prices to pay for all that debt they pulled with all the sock buybacks the last several years in a row.... I sure hope they didnt take on all that debt to develop exciting new paintjobs on bikes nobody can afford to buy while simultaneously ignoring masses of people asking for something very different.
Also check out The video fortnine did about a year or two ago talking about Harley's debt and how they artificially inflate and manipulate their stock to make it look like they're doing better than they are. That's finally come home to haunt them
I think it was really a dumb idea to do away with the Road King standard. The CVO prices are getting out of hand.
It was a good run.
noone wants a bronx
@@justaguy5377 oh yeah? Who's noone? 🤣
For sure, pop a Bronx out and keep it at a max of 18k and I could see it selling
I've seen CVOs of many kinds, in awesome shape.
They were very reasonably priced. The used demand must be somewhat limited.
I think that's part of the issue is there's just so many CVOs you can't command that price you used to be able to when they're much more rare
For those who weren't paying attention last year, I do feel bad for them
@@BikesBeardsAndBrews I also feel bad for my bank account cause now I want one of these 2024 road glide 💸
I will just keep my bike, the prices are way to high, and quality has gone down
I mean Harley's are glorified Lego kits anyway, as long as the frame is straight and true you can run the same bike forever
I kind of agree! Seems they are killing the CVO’s by overproduction and not being that different for the over cost!
Yeah, there really seems to be a flooding of the market with these. And honestly, if all these 2023s do not sell soon, they're going to be sitting on the floor for a long time because let's face it in a few months. Anyone looking for a CVO is just going to wait another month or two until the 2024s drop
@@BikesBeardsAndBrews true!
Im holding out for the CVO Sporty…or e-bike….
CVO EBike FTW!!
cvo-pan america only makes sense IF...(biggest if i could type)
if the pan america has PREMIUM accessories like custom roll-cages, bigger gas tank (like a lot bigger) high end aux lights, custom gps, basically all the really functional high end shit from a BMW / Ducati / etc... adventure bikes
but i don't see it happening that way 🤷🏻♂
i've been lucky with my CVO so far, i'm sitting at 7k miles and haven't had any issues outside the typical shit.
Totally agree, ST’s are more then the specials
The entire thing is just completely maddening
Plate? Do you mean the VIN #? Where is this plate on the CVO?
Yeah I was incorrect in this. The CVOs do not have number plates which is more frightening cuz now you have no idea how many are out there
@@BikesBeardsAndBrewsThought so. I have a newly purchased'22 CVO SG which I love! I also had a '16 and never saw a # plate on that one either. I can remember a couple of years ago when no new CVO ever hit the floor that was available for sale. I appreciate your honesty.
So yes, in one way they're scaling back but it seems like they're trying to find their stride but not quite nailing it
Im a huge harley fan but this was 100% on the head with everything said.
I feel ya! Glad you dig it!
60 k ?!?! Do they just assume there is a massive drug problem in your area and nobody has any reasoning skills left??!
😂😂😂😂 welp you ain’t wrong…. As my 23’ CVO RG sits at the dealership with a bad amp update. 😢 for the past 2 weeks, and I live in an all year round riding environment (southern California). Got the 23’cvo in October of 2023, been in shop 5 times since for various reasons/issues. Smh but when it works, it’s fun!! lol 😅
Oh man, sorry to hear it. Hopefully they get that back to you soon so you can get riding
@@BikesBeardsAndBrews Harley actually had to stop line production and are pulling amps from the assembly line to be able to fix the affected bikes. They didn’t have enough amps on standby/on the shelf.
Cvo shit Back in the late 90s early 2000s, there was a year to 2 year waiting list for any Harley, Davidson They didn't even have CV OS then. They had shriners, though., and if you wanted to pick a color the list was even longer and you had to put down a deposit to be on that list that was non-refundable. $100-500 Matter of fact, since the Milwaukee 8 came out. It's pretty much the only time since then that you can walk in and buy a brand new Harley off the floor that's 2 years old. Keep up the good work Harley.😂😂😂😂
Yeah, seeing how many leftover models are there, year after year is probably the most telling thing when it comes to the state of Harley currently
Actually there was a CVO as early as 2000🤔
Plastic in the engine?
Oh there most certainly is.
I love my like new 10k mile 2013 ultra classic cvo payed 19k last year one owner bike was 43k new overpriced at the time hell of a bike for 19 grand
And I'm sure it came with some upgrades as well which saved you as well!

They should learn from the Ulysses that the Pan American was not gonna work. But that's Harley, they'll never learn.
I think the biggest reason why it's not working is because most people want a lighter version and they refuse to do it
I shudder to think where I'd be without that one girl.
She's a durable one 😂

I mean you still could be very correct there
its badge engineering...again taking a page out Ford's playbook.
remember when the performance badges or models were actually different? remember when those were performance packages and not just style options?
Oh for sure. I mean CVO definitely doesn't mean what it used to me

Not everything that sparkles is gold
When you sell a new bike for a higher price than a brand new Mustang something's wrong. With the current economy, regular people can't spend that much on a bike. Develop nice entry to mid level bikes instead on focusing on rich posers... And not a single real new bike this year...
Preach! We shall see how this pans out for Harley
Harley became a Yuppie bike … but the Chinese got it with a 1200 V2
I mean I get having some high ticket bikes but remember the people who got you here

One of their other dealerships have two. One of their other dealerships have two no, there were at least 15 sitting there
HD has nothing in their current line up that I see that can't compete with the Japanese bikes...
If you want a harley... you just go find a used one to buy...
In fairness when I go to buy a Harley I'm not trying to compete with a Japanese bike. In all honesty like you said, it's not going to happen. That being said, I still want a bike where I look at it and go. Oh I need to have that

07:35 Wow didn't i make the comment on a video yesterday.. LOL
That is very well possible
Harleys been going in the wrong direction a long time. Im afraid profit has been driving the Co. in that direction plus im betting the upper CEOs and board menbers are not long time riders. Theres not real blue collar selection anymore (base model).
There's definitely blinders on where the whole thing is. Get as much profit as possible which isn't helpful for the longevity of the moco

If you wanted to destroy the tradition of Harley Davidson And it's American roots and blue-collar Heritage., how would you go about it any differently than what they're doing and have been doing for the last several years? At 1 point, Harley tried to patent the sound. Have you listened to an M8 engine? Does it sound anything like a Harley? No, those days are gone. Any Harley rider ever think they would hear? That Harley built and developed a motor with Kawasaki. At 1 point in time, those were fighting words. Not anymore, it's reality.

That's the other thing I noticed about Harley. No matter how old a bike is on the floor, they refuse to drop the price to try and get it to sell. They would rather have it sit there and rot then sell it for a few thousand less.
HD is dead set on keeping the profit margin the same no matter what. The dealer with the High Tail Yellow CVO is a family owned business since 1965 in the middle of nowhere Indiana.
