Wow! The sheer nervousness. The shyness, yet thoughtful, too. How authentically human. It's not affected at all. I think this was why she was so captivating.

She is absolutely mesmerizing: you simply can't take your eyes off her. Throughout the course of this interview, she is definately keeping to her adage of minimum information with maximum politeness which makes her even more appealing.

She was the best first lady we've ever had. You sense that she's playing with the reporters like a cat playing with mice and she knows more than she gives away but is so sweet, sincere, genuine and confident with just enough self effacing answers. "Is the baby due on inauguration day?" Such an intrusive question because she's had difficult pregnancies in the past - but she simply answers, "When is inaugural day?" That was perfect, the best mix of giving a humorous non-answer, having the upper hand but still a lady. Later we see she changed and became more guarded, less open, exasperated but still a lady. She was Lady Di before there was a Lady Di.
And the reporters are enjoying her immensely.
I would say Eleanor Roosevelt was the best first lady, but Jackie comes close

Mrs. Kennedy was always gracious, funny, and so beautiful. A woman of intelligence. She brought a wonderful sense of style to the White House and to the country. I feel lucky that I was a child when the Kennedy's went to Washington and I got to see a First Lady that we were all so proud of.

This, and her other answers as to where she buys her clothes, shows that she didn't want the media to focus on what she wore and where she bought it--but the bigger things, like her husband's presidency! What a smart, witty lady she was. I would love to have met her.

Read the book " Jackie Oh!" By Kittey Kelly. She didn't want anyone to copy her style, and she was very materialistic. President Kennedy was not happy with the amount of money she spent consistently. I believe she was hiding the info pertaining to her fashion and where she purchased it.
when she was in Palm Beach she would buy a dress from a outlet store usually for a event at night,then she would return it back the next day with stains on most of them.
Cindy Nguyen Wow...Miss Nguyen, it's a beautiful way to put about what kind of woman she was. Her courage, poised and calm with dignity she walked as a Leader behind her husband's coffin with the shocked nation for what happened on Nov 22, 1963. The other horror was that, she herself was close to be hit by a bullet too missed by inches. She never spoke of that day in public. She was so private till the end. For that, she will be the greatest First Lady we ever had. For 1036 days.

I just stumbled across this enchanting video clip. What a special and unique lady she was. She will always be remembered for her grace, charm, beauty, and historical knowledge. And of course, her bravery and courage. Watching this now, one is touched deeply by the knowledge of the tragedy awaiting her. After JFK's funeral, President Charles De Gaulle of France told reporters, "She gave an example to the whole world of how to behave." What a deserving tribute to a great lady!!

I love how humble Jackie was she was a very classy first lady. It's a shame she had to witness the gruesome death of her husband.
Because she's kind of a trophy wife, she quickly remarried someone 30 years older than her when JFk passed away for financial security. Plus in every interview she seems to be on some sort of valium or benzo because her responses are kind of airheaded and strange as if you were talking to a 9 year old.

who knows anything about fate! the power of destiny. she is so radiant and happy about the nomination, not guessing a bit what that shall entail in the long run....
Her voice was so unique, completely opposite her sister. Wonder where she learned to speak that way. I know she was brought up wealthy and sent to schools to learn to be a lady.
She was truly the best first lady ever, even for such a short time. Her style and elegance and grace are unlike any other we've had in the white house. She could be pretty judgemental though if you listen to her tapes.
The one thing I don't like was how she thought that a woman existed just to serve her husband, like a Geisha she said. I know her thoughts changed later as she became so very independent.
The best description of her was given by Ted Kennedy at her funeral. The video is on here, not of the funeral but a video of pics of her with his voice over. She had beautiful penmanship as well. Everything, mostly, about her was elegance and grace. Which blessed this nation and as Ted Kennedy said, helped hold this nation together after that treachery. Caroline and John were lucky to have her as a mother, I'm jealous. I love my mom, God rest her soul, but yeah I would have liked to have a mom like her. So very sad that only Caroline is left now. Ted and Robert and John all dead. John Jr. And even Jackie. I was the same age as Jon Jon when it happened. I grew up with this legacy in my time and have learned so much, researched so much.
It just goes to show how blessed we could be if we got the right people in government.
RIP Jackie, Jack, John Jr, Robert, Teddy. Thank you for your contribution to this country. ❤️

You can see the concerted effort she made to appear down to earth rather than upper class. “Off the rack” and “gray stones” were hardly her preferences. The family advisors decided her image needed to be tweaked so the average housewife wouldn’t find her too elite, highbrow and unrelatable. When she started a new life, after she was widowed a while, she resumed her wardrobe of expensive couture designers and precious jewels.
