    The good parts of Canada and America need to join forces like the Wonder Twins.

    I am using the YOHO bed platform in Colorado and love it! I got a Slumberjack 4 Slumbershack, which is a tent with an awning that attaches to the back of my 4Runner, and it works great as well.

    Hey Jimmy, nice review, Beautiful country. I enjoyed the Wildlife especially, the wild horses, I would give anything to see them. Hope you had a good time camping.

      Thanks, John I appreciate the comment. Yes the wild horses are pretty awesome, some love them some hate them. I should do a video on them, I should have the camera for that soon. Fingers crossed

    Hi Jimmy, Great video! 2 questions, Is it easy/doable to disconnect from your SUV or Mini Van to run an errand? Can it be used as a stand-alone tent only? Thanks!

    • @JimmyMeatwhistle
      @JimmyMeatwhistle  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi and thanks for the comment. Yes it can be used as a standalone tent and easily unhooked from your suv. No problem 👍🍻

    Looks like you're camping in Bull Trout country! Nice setup, solid review. Look forward to future updates on this. Could see one hanging off the back of my Tacoma in the future!

    100%...I think it was designated as Cascadia way back when (AB, BC, WA, OR, CO...not sure if ID and SK were incl or not?). Its really very different out East where I am now...far less appreciation for the West or the US. Never understood that and I get some funny looks when I speak up against the anti-Western / US rhetoric.

    Enjoyed your video! Question: If you used the YOHO bed sleeping platform what was the function/purpose of the SUV tent? Chillin' with stand up space away from bugs, sun and rain? Did you cook outside of it?

    • @JimmyMeatwhistle
      @JimmyMeatwhistle  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I posted a video not long ago on it, we were using the Yoho system along with the SUV tent and it rained literally for 15 hours straight. So the SUV tent was great, we had a spot to eat, have a few beverages and cook if need be. So it was definitely a bonus in those conditions. It's also nice just to have the extra space. To change, to eat and also gives you good ventilations into the truck without the bugs. For 300 bucks it really makes a difference. Thanks for the comment, much appreciated 👍

    Would you still recommend these for just a privacy tent , i read these are best to change clothes etc . But some still prefer there actual tent set up along with the suv tent for thier set up. Could this replace a tent in general .?

    • @JimmyMeatwhistle
      @JimmyMeatwhistle  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I definitely recommend these. Especially at that price point. They work as a stand-alone tent and great for changing etc. But it worked out really well when we had 14 hours of rain, was nice to have somewhere to go.

    Do you think it will do a good job of keeping rain out?

    • @JimmyMeatwhistle
      @JimmyMeatwhistle  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do think it will but we'll have to check that out for sure.

      Used this tent on a 6 months long trip around US. Only put it up if was staying more than five days in one spot - so about 12 times total. Once had it up over 28 days. Always added an additional awning (about 6' x 12') for privacy/shade on the.SUV passenger side. It was almost ideal. Only serious issue was the footprint. In mud & rain the floor was wet/dirty. Kiddy foam carpeting on interior tent pathways helped and seemed to keep floor warmer. Am a senior senior and solo traveler. This was my first tent. ALWAYS gave myself time to put it up right and never had it blow over even in 5°, 3" snow and in 20 mph rain/winds. Solo set up recommend bring extra paracord. Tie paracord to a to a tree other side of tent to stabilize tent/apply guidance as tent goes up - used paracord as an extra pair of hands. Got many compliments on my set up. I almost always kept hatch closed & always slept in SUV although guests slept in tent and said it was comfortable. 10' x 10' & 7' ceiling just right for long term camp stays.

      @@JimmyMeatwhistle How did it hold up? I camp in Utah in June with a large group. The spot we go to is perfect except that it is in a valley between mountains and it is like a wind tunnel for a couple of hours every day. We also get evening rain storms that can be pretty heavy. Wondering if the tent stays attached properly in wind and if it is rainproof / waterproof. We've had friends who have had to leave because their tents leaked so much. Don't want to make a purchase before having good information! I'd appreciate your insights!

      It's a great little add on especially at this price point.Here's a test I did with fifteen hours of rain in the rocky mountains.

      I'm right in the rocky mountains and have used it in crazy high winds, and it's been fine. of course It's noisy, and to sleep in those conditions, I use earplugs 👍🍺

      Too bad you don’t get a little something, maybe ask bass pro shop? I’ll wait and check back, not ready to buy but this looks like my best choice for a ‘guest room’ and as a place holder when camping in my class B

      That back tube area that covers the hatch could easily be pulled off so you're not filling the tent with fumes. Close the hatch in warm your 4Runner, no problems
