    I personally enjoyed the movie and took my 5 year old. A fun age for her as she enioys the music and knows it is a true story. I felt called to support a wholesome movie that honors the reason for season - and as you said can discuss specific theology of needed. I would definately see it again!

    This is a very good review. I am a 18 year old Catholic and seeking Christ and I want to clarify all things from watching/reading its reviews from the movie. I could say that the same views from this content is the same result and confirms mine. Thank you so much for this! God Bless you and your Family.

    Thank you for the analysis. I saw the movie today and although I enjoyed it there were substantial theological concerns. As you mentioned the annunciation was not handled well.

    Isn't there already too much confusion about truth in these times? I felt a deep sense of foreboding whenever you were describing the warnings. And for children, why subject them to visual and musical influences that are rife with deception? I'm glad you are able to express a fair view point about something you enjoyed, but for sure it is not for me, we should never have to cringe at anything in the story of our Blessed Mother. It makes me sad.😢

    I did enjoy it. For a budget of 6 million dollars was well done. The Cinematography was great. There’s a statement at the beginning and end that the production mentioned that is not a biography, is not biblical is inspired on true events. My fav character was Mary portrait by Fiona Palomo .

    The back story of Mary and Joseph was nice to see this take. This type of movie can bring a conversation after with the family, love ones and or people that might have curious to know

    I think it is great fun, and as a Catholic I just don't see what your issues were with it. It is meant to be fun and convey the story.
    It isn't meant to be 100% accurate. For example none of the costumes are accurate at all.
    Your issues with the theology come across as very US evangelical and doesn't really reflect how a lot of European Catholics would view this or any I know

    I don't agree with this. It made me feel like we know Mary and Joseph are real people. Doesn't have to be perfect. No one is a perfect, don't make a big deal out of this. Look what priests have done to children, don't make this like the Catholic church is so deep into reading the bible from cover to cover. I'm Catholic went to Catholic school. See this movie it lifts your spirit, it makes you cry with Joy at the birth. It's amazing!

    Catholics really need this depiction of Mary in her humanity. I left the religion because I always questioned why the church worships her as a goddess. I felt like I was being forced to break the Lord's first commandment.

    • @LuisGomez-gd7pp
      @LuisGomez-gd7pp 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Catholic don't view her as a catholic and if they do they they need serious correction. I would say that you left the faith because you lacked the understanding on who she is. (Which I do encourage you to really read and understand who she is. She is well depicted in the old testament) also Scott hanh has a great book called Hail Holy Queen. He gives a good perspective of the Catholic teaching about the Theotokos.

    I enjoyed the movie. I also read the Bible, and I don't see any scripture telling us that we can have a relationship with Mary / Joseph. The Bible teaches the only way to the Father is through the Son.

    • @BitsyBee
      @BitsyBee 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We are free to have holy relationships with any Christians we choose. The disciples loved Mary. If we are in Christ, we are never separated. This belief is passed on through the creeds and sacred tradition. Many Catholics do NOT have a relationship with Mary because it is not required!
      If you don't understand sacred tradition, ask yourself if Judaism can be practiced with scripture alone. No, it cannot. It is a culture and tradition that is taught alongside scripture. Catholicism and Orthodoxy are passed on the same way.

      Loving the parents of Jesus does not contradict the salvation of Jesus.

    • @DCice13
      @DCice13 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The issue I have is she said that we can have a relationship with Mary. But We cannot form a relationship with the dead. The bible clearly teaches we should have no contact with the dead. This is usually referred to as mediums or necromancers. God instructed they be put to death in the Old Testament and He will set his face against them.@@omaralvarez7231

    • @DCice13
      @DCice13 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, I understand this, and I do believe we can learn from other sources, because scripture alone does not provide us with everything we need to know on this earth.
      But the Bible clearly teaches that we should test new revelation and if it is contrary to the doctrine of the Bible, we should reject them.
      The Bible clearly states in multiple locations that we should not have communication with the dead. Usually referred to as mediums or necromancers. How do you build a relationship with someone if you are not communicating with them?

    You 2 beed to get over yourselves! At the very beginning it says, BASED ON A TRUE STORY! and no true story movie HAS EVER been 100% correct!
    At the heart of this movie is the story of Mary and Joseph and the Birth of Jesus! The fact that it's done So Beautifully and has AMAZING music, is icing on the cake! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Journey To Bethlehem! I've watched it 6 times already, and it makes me laugh and cry and feel Joy EVERY TIME!!
    So ABSOLUTELY YES... Catholics, Christians, EVERYONE should go see this movie! Cause with all the shit going on in the world right now, the hatred, the ignorance, this barbaric war between Russia and Ukraine, and all the excessive Greed in the world today... Journey To Bethlehem is EXACTLY what WE ALL need!!

  • @britonio1609
    @britonio1609 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I didn’t watch this movie I only saw the music videos and I got really sad and angry about how they did Mary. A Mary that is totally angry with God’s will, like a kind of “Woke vision” of Mary, just to make her “cooler”. I think that’s stupid, if you think, when your making a movie that you can IMPROVE the way that GOD makes the things, (i mean you, human, like trying to teach God HOW TO DO his own job) you’re just totally wrong, and you just didn’t understand NOTHING. Mary was FULL OF GRACE, and she was made with no sin. How the hell she would be so rebel, and worst, why she would untrust God ? She didn’t even say “Here I am” to the God’s angel. All musics sounds great, but they put all they’re attention to make great music, that they forget to pay attention to the most important details. They try to tell the story of salvation better than God himself did, and I say this because they changed something that was a very important key for God’s plan, that was the open and prepared heart of Mary and Joseph to receive Jesus. It even seems arrogant and daring to me. Furthermore, they focused on so many details around the story that it seems that Jesus came very last, and that already speaks for itself.. What a joke. I think the writers where people with not so much faith in God’s plan, and I will pray for them because they show that in the whole movie. I hope you understand this point. Be sensitive or angry if you want, I don’t care. I’m angrier than you and I know I’m pretty right about why 😅

    Nah. Thumbs down just in the trailer itself. This Woke Garbage added to the movie is wrong. Joseph is seen as a goofball its like what they do now with men and fathers in modern movies.
