@GenoSegersGSWOW, Oh my god! You were so funny in my #1 favorite musical! The movie, which I saw on November 9th and November 12th, is always going to be #1 in my heart! Joseph and Antipater were my favorite characters but you were hysterical and had me laughing until I cried!

Thank you for your review on this movie! My husband and I just heard about the movie this weekend and were trying to decide whether to watch it or not. We do love musicals. After watching your review, we plan to watch it soon! 😊

Very nice. Mary was probably around 12-14 years old and Joseph was around 20 years old in that culture. The shepherds were probably around 10-12 year old girls. Very nice, Hannah! I used to review movies... Thanks for commenting on Nuria's video!

Yes! I believe that too about Mary because of their culture. I didn’t know about Joseph, so thanks for telling me!

I just saw Journey To Bethlehem two times, one time on November 9th and the other on November 12th. I absolutely loved it. My favorite musical you guys had done. Obsessed with it. Characters like Fig the Donkey stole my heart and Milo Manheim and Joel Smallbone were my favorite portrayals of Joseph and Antipater ever. When Zoe Arnau, the shepherd girl, sang "Silent Night" while Mary was going into labor in the stable, I cried. Then I cried again at the ending. What a beautiful movie and every time a Christmas song about the birth of Jesus comes on the radio, I'm always going to think about the movie. Four things that disappointed me: Gabriel was too scary when his eyes glowed bright blue as he yelled, "MARY!" (I hid under my blanket during that scene two times), Jesus didn't cry when he came out of the womb, King Herod scared me, and Mary was just a freaky mannequin during "The Ultimate Deception". Basic from that, I'm so glad I saw the movie and can't wait to own it on DVD!

I like how Joseph is young and in love with Mary. Everyones complaining how he was a big flirt at first but I like to think it was because he was immediately drawn to Mary. I mean Mary and Joseph are quite literally a match made in heaven.
Most catholics believe Joseph was way older than Mary and was more of a guardian and protector than her husband. This belief was originated to explain how Mother Mary was a virgin all her life as she was not romantically involved with Joseph. I personally find it disturbing that a full grown adult man marrying a teenage girl was more acceptable than a married woman losing her virginity to an age appropriate husband she loves. So yes I enjoyed Josephs and Mary's dynamic in the film. It's a bit awkward at the begining but it progresses well towards the end.
Overall, the movie was decent. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either; it's somewhere in the middle. However the movie concluded on a very joyful and hopeful note, capturing the bright hope inherent in the story of Jesus Christ's birth.
Also get this; This movie is a love story. Love story between a man and a woman, people and God, mother and child, a king and his crown. It's a family movie at its core. If you want a very light hearted rendition of the nativity, then watch this.

I think it’s called creative “artistic freedom”; never straying far from the historical facts, but embellishing with song, dance, and humor. ( correct me if I’m wrong!) It was a fantastic movie, that made me cry more than laugh, due to my Catholic upbringing✝️
A fun 21st century version of the Greatest Story Ever Told👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽‼️ AWESOME performance on Fiona Palomo’s part, a young, talented, Mexican actor/singer 👍🏾🙌🏾(Thank GOD ;NO RAP😂..that’s just how us baby boomers think..yeah, NO!)

I'm thinking they wouldn't cast Lecrae in a musical if they didn't have a rap part written for him. My guess is it didn't make the final cut, which may be for the better. 😁

I love musicals but when christian movies add creativity to stories from the bible and their take on it. It can be misleading for some, especially for visual learners. I remember believing much of what I saw on Bible story movies until I actually read the Bible for myself. Thank you for your review.

I liked the movie, but as an educational or religious film, it falls short. If you want the true story, read the Bible. As something fun to go see, it delivers.

Lecrae ruined the movie for me as did Herod's son Antipater being made the hero who saved Jesus. In the Bible an angel warned Joseph in a dream but he didn't need the warning if Antipater was just going to save him, Mary, and Jesus.
