Two lessons, first is bucket height. Raise that bucket that high and you destroy stability, do it on a slope and you see the results here.
Start an engine after righting the tractor, without pulling the glow plugs, and you increase the chances of destroying the engine from oil lock in the pistons.
    Wow!

That's exactly what I was thinking! I was hoping he wouldn't start it up right away, you have to let the fluids flow back in places.

I had suggested it, but it was his tractor. It ran fine, so I would say he was lucky. I am not sure why the bucket was that high. I was at work when this occurred and had just got home when he was walking up asking for help. Just glad first that nobody was hurt, and second his tractor didn't suffer any noticeable damage. I know he ran that tractor on many more jobs since then and he said it hasn't had problems

No doubt. My friend was lucky his tractor didn't need work after this. That hill is a lot steeper than it looks too. BTW, we share a last name. Wonder if there is any relation.

If you could take in what the area looks like, this is about the only way we could get this tractor back up. Thanks for watching.

You can't tell, but this is very steep country and there were blackberry vines covering a 20 foot section of ditch and looked like it was flat ground. If it were flat ground, it wouldn't have flipped.

Soon as the tractor started upright, you should've held and put the bucket down.

The Father in Heaven said it wasn't my time to join Him yet. This scared me so bad. How and why I wasn't crushed to death can only be explained by a guiding hand.
I've been a equipment operator for at least 35 years , this was my first roll over. I've known people to be crushed or worst in this type of roll over.
I landed on my back in between the body of the tractor and the top of my canopy. It wasnt just a four foot fall to the ground on my back, the force and weight of the tractor through me to the ground as it was falling.
The tractor could have landed on my legs or body crushing me, or the canopy could have come down on my head completely crushing my head or chest.
My imagination can conjure many different situations where I should not be walking or alive today.
As I stated earlier, I have many years experience as an operator and I can tell you this, this happened so fast, I had no control over the situation. I always practice the safest operation rules and that didnt matter this time.
The log I was maneuvering shifted in an unexpected way, the tractor rolled forward allowing the left front tire to slide into a ditch I didnt even know was there because of the thick brush cover. It just said BAM!!! and I was no longer up right.
Hitting the ground hurt so bad I screamed like I was dying. I couldnt belive I was still alive, honestly , in my head while it was falling over so quickly, but in slow motion, I knew I was going to die. Somehow my body got turned and positioned in such a away that the tractor completely missed me. That in of itself is a miracle if you understand the cab size and position of the seat.
I did however slam the back of my head on the top square tubing holding up the canopy and it is still very tender.
The Father in Heaven was right there with me, I have no doubt. Im alive. Oddly enough, the tractor was on its side well over 30 plus minutes and it started right up with absolutely no issues, no smoke from the oil that should have poured up into the engine . Everything was completely fine with the tractor and only a very minor scratch on my hood paint .
So I will be around a while longer to bug you all. Thank you Aaron Laird and family for helping me out and making this years Sukkot so wonderful. I feel blessed.
    Shalom Y'all

p.s. Gotta love my Dodge Ram 2500, pulled over the tractor with no effort at all

We are so grateful, both for your tremendous job on our road (if anybody needs road work done Rex is your guy), and that you were ok in that rollover.

I've been told you NEVER start a tractor that's been flipped over until you let it settle for 24 hours. I am interested in there is any long term damage.

It was a friends tractor and he let it sit for a while. I told him we could leave it for a day or two. Heck, I don't even plug in a refrigerator within 24 hours of it being on its side. But he did and used it quite a bit after this video was shot, and there weren't any noticeable issues. He did another 10-12 hours of work on our road before loading it up and taking it home.
