  • Sort of a clarification of what we are about and what we are capable of doing, especially at Ashokan Turf & Timber. Bob discusses how he has to communicate with customers. Too much for one guy. So a discussion on how he HAS to manage things. Very important that all the subscribers pay attention and watch the last half of this video.
    AND the video that was the inspiration for the 268 to 372 popup concept..:)

    I for one appreciate both of you for sharing your skill set and hobby. I'm 34 and both my grandads passed away at a early age so their skills and life lessons didn't get passed onto me from life on the farm. So I watch to pick up on things you share, as I consider myself a jack of all trades and master of none.

    I understand what Bob is trying to say regarding time management between his shop work and online user inquiries.
    He should know that within a good channel such as this, we become a community, like distant relatives almost. We understand and appreciate the content enough to try and become self sustaining with questions and answers. Everyone chips in to help, leaving the channel creators to the content. It takes a village to make the the entire community better, one person can not do it alone!

    I love the "salad dressing" comment. I had a Backpack blower that looked like an aquarium full of Jellyfish in the gas tank. I always dump into a clear glass jar just to see what was in there. I push occasional users to buy the canned pre-mixed fuel as they will usually forget what I tell them about old fuel, get home, run the fresh fuel I put in out, then fill up with 3 year old aquarium/salad dressing mix and call me up saying what did you do to my equipment?? Gotta love it.

    • @fassay
      @fassay 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right on buddy.
      Best advertising for alkylate fuels (ie Aspen motomix etc) is my dealer. He uses Aspen when testing their new equipment before sale. It sits on the shelf until bought. Just like winterizing..!
      Use ethanol free fuel with fuel stabilizer if you can't afford Alkylate fuel.

    Greetings. When I started rebuilding my fathers 254xp that he used professionally in the forestry in Ireland I found this channel and have been hooked ever since. I am now on my 20th build mainly husky and jonsered and this channel has taught me a hell of a lot - so whatever direction you take and whatever content you are willing to make is appreciated. I most certainly won’t be trying to call you as i would consider that an invasion of privacy

    I always learn so much from you and Bob. You just have to separate work and hobby for a healthy mind. Love the channel, i have started my 350 build after seeing yours built and run. First it was interesting, then in my hobby time every minute was working on the saw, trying to make it run stronger end better. Dos not matter if it breaks, its a hobby, and AM parts are cheap as ... BUT it let me regenerate, recreate, and is FUN. Anyway a great THANK YOU! For the both of you

    Just like in guns - 95% of the problems with saws (or guns) is poor or improper maintenance. This is why I clean, sharpen and refuel a saw after each use. I clean and sharpen them to the best of my ability. I don’t think, I know they will crank,run and cut the next time I want to use them. You cannot stress enough the benefits of maintenance.

    I was watching Bob on one of your videos on my big svreeen tv, yesterday, and he was using an old 041. He seemed like he was enjoying using it because he did not just crank it up, run it for a few minutes and put it down. I have never used an 041 but can just image how it was running after years of sitting up in more or less storage condition. Yesterday was a nice day, here, so I decided to run my 361 and 361 for a little bit. I undid them from my cable lock system and grabbed what I thought was the 360without looking. Instead I got my 391, which has been in storage for about a year. It took a couple of pulls for me to figure out the mistake and see the model number on the side of the scabbard. I quickly put it back on the shelf and grabbed the 360. Both saws ran perfectly, especially the 361. I will crank up the 391 in the New Year, but not, yesterday.

      I guess if growth was the goal it could, but not at this point in life for either one of us. Just not a direction we are going. :) Having fun and sharing on the channel is right now a focus. But for those who follow the channel and in particular Spike60's commentary on dealers....there is a template for success if folks are open to understanding what they are seeing.

      Hoping there will be a time slot between winter and time to put up the building because the frost is out of the ground to do something. Once I can start digging its all over as I have to build roughly 2000ft of road, utility trench, and a couple of pads. Going to be tough to play much this year.
