Certainly does seem Google is listening and learning from its mistakes. The 4a does seem like a more refined Pixel 4 minus the faster processor to prevent the 4a from cannibalizing 4 sales. I might certainly get a 4a. I like to see if some of the local resellers sweeten the deal with cash back offers before I place my order.

Any idea what the difference between usb-c 2.0 and usb-c 3.1? Can the 4a output hdmi via the usb-c? That's one feature that was missing for me from the last generation of pixels...
Google will never include the 'DP/HDMI alt modes' because they want to sell more ChromeCast/AndroidTV devices! ;-) USB3.1 is the Basis for this alt mode, but not all 3.1 devices includes the alt modes.

actually, pixel 4 camera is slightly better than the 4a. look at the cloud pictures. Pixe 4 handle the dynamic range a bit better than the 4a. In selfie also, pixel 4 is more sharper than the 4a.
Pixel 4 is very cheap in the UK atm. It's actually cheaper to get the 4 for my phone contract than the 4a :') (25 pounds a month vs 27) So like 30 dollars a month including all the data I would possibly need. Do I just go for that... If it wasn't for performance I prefer the 4a in almost every way

I like everything about the 4a except no face unlock which is fantastic on the pixel4 .. also you can get a pixel 4 on Amazon renewed for ~$400.. so for 50 more you get a 90hz screen/ip68/wireless charging and excellent face unlock. Yeah.. probably 15-20 percent worse battery life and an annoying forehead too. Tough choice. .. Oh yeah.. you can also get a Pixel 3(not 3a) for $250 on Amazon renewed. Pretty much a 4a with bezels and 2gb less ram... but wireless charging and ip68 for $100 less than the 4a
Great video, thanks! I've read that the 4A has an OLED screen. Have you noticed a significant difference between both screens, having the Pixel 4 an AMOLED screen? By seeing our video, it looks like the 4A has a colder image, did you notice this in your usage or is it just my impression? Finally, I currently have a Pixel (yeah, the 2016 model) and I'm eager to replace it as Bluetooth is not working anymore, 32gb is not enough space and so on... Should I wait for the Pixel 5 or go for the 4A?
That may be color temp set to cool, my pixel 2xl got dead in July coz of motherboard failure and I am still waiting for this to launch in October in India. Its worth every penny!
Okay, everyone now think the pixel 4a IS better, but you dont notice that Google pixel 4 have 90 hz display, pixel 4 have radar chip, in photo comparison you dont zoom, pixel 4 have 2x telephoto zoom camera. I think that pixel 4 is for that price still better
I would almost sell my 4XL for this 4A but can't ditch the wireless charging, 90 hz refresh rate, and water resistance rating everything else I love about it I will be getting the Pixel 5 (5G) for sure.
Is the display size difference significant? I do feel the overall 4a looks much larger (fuller) in some scenes, although it is only 5.7 vs 5.81' in the real world
Watching on my lovely Pixel 4XL it's the best phone I've ever had, you should have compared the XL to the 4A because you'll notice the better quality between the XL and the smaller 4a
Pixel 4XL is better! Snapdragon 855, 90Hz display, 1440p, Pixel visual core, face unlock and something I thoroughly enjoy, the squeeze feature for the Google Assistant!!! I messed around on my friends s9+ and I realized that I can never go back to 60Hz. Lol. Enjoy your 4XL, in my opinion it's still the King of Android!

Pixel 3a has a larger display 6.0” vs 5.8” inch on the 4a. Pixel 3a XL is also much bigger in overall size and bezels.

4a is smaller, lighter, better battery. 4 is more powerful, has 2 📷, more premium, no fingerprint scanner. For everyday use, I'd go with the 4a.
