Fletch what a beautiful find find. I grew up in a in a 67 Chrysler new Yorker and it was my favorite car of all time period you. You will love it. It is rock solid and the pinnacle of American automotive achievement. The mid sixties Pontiac's and and Chrysler products were the best made in America. If you ever get the chance to get a 63 Pontiac Grand Prix fourdor or a 64 GTODon't pass it up!It's wonderful to see how you are caring for these cars and they do have a soul. I look forward to your next videos. Is Charles from Florida USA
Wow, this brings back amazing memories for me. My father had this same car but his was the '67 4 door "post sedan" model New Yorker. Light tan with a light tan interior. All the options including cold AC. When I learned to drive I drove this car too. Bless you for saving this American automotive history capsule, I'm so happy to see your car. We live in California but my dad's New Yorker took us all over the west part of the USA. He really loved that car so much he traded it for a 1973 New Yorker that he loved too. Safe and healthy driving always and keep saving these old cars wherever they are from, they really do have souls.
I sold this car to Murray Park in 2001 at Carlisle Chryslers. He promised he wouldn't cut it up or part it. Thanks to that promise Fletch now has a wonderful ride! Murray informed me of the sale last year('18). This was a little old ladies' car out of Northern New Jersey, ALL original and floated down the road. I sold it because it was way too big -LOL- and it was time to move on. Great to see her again and I wish Fletch all the best-have Fun!
Yes I really did enjoy that because I LOVE those big boxy Chryslers' from the mid.late 1960's. What a treat to have a (vicarious) walk around Murray's place. I'd have absolutely loved it and wouldn't have wanted to leave ! Thank You. That's one sharpe lookin New Yorker too. I love the imperials though. Big awkward quirky yet majestic, brutal, refined, otherworldly and luxurious.
Marvelous find and restoration. My mom had a 67 New Yorker very similar to yours. It was the best car we ever owned, and probably the best car ever built by Chrysler. Engine and transmission and AC were superb. You can expect no trouble from this car except for normal wear items. It is the perfect American luxury cruiser. I think it is a much better car than a 67 Cadillac or Lincoln. Thank you so much for saving and restoring this treasure. Seeing this brings back many happy childhood memories. Best regards from Florida.
Brings back bittersweet memories.... My dad used to have a '66 New Yorker with the 440, which I loved to drive, but my kid brother smashed it up and that was that. But what a machine....
I have a 67 New Yorker 440 and I absolutely love it, I've learned so much about it because of this video so thank you for uploading, I'm glad you're giving that one a new lease of life
I was about 10 when I tagged along with mom and dad to find a car for mom after she passed her road test. We sat in a Caddie first, a 63 when mom said “ should it be newer than the 65 Catalina “. Dad looked to the left and asked the gentleman “What year is that one?” Well he said is a 67 Chrysler New Yorker. Mom Loved it! Running around town in that Beautiful Blue car , mom would often chirp the wheels leaving the stop signs. Dad got pulled over for speeding more than once, when the officer found out that my dad was NYPD officer, they would ask him to open the hood to get a look at the 440. Thanks for bringing back these memories for me.❤
Wow , what a find Fletch . Full restorations are nice but when a car is a tidy original survivor , I prefer to see them that way , and you can enjoy them too , don't have to worry if it rains or come across roadworks . Just maintain , preserve and enjoy owning and driving a true classic 👍
I guess im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a way to log back into an instagram account?? I somehow lost my account password. I would love any assistance you can offer me
@Killian Bridger Thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and im in the hacking process atm. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Great to see more of the guy behind the camera. A well-deserved reward for your years of service to the car community. Just hope you get the time off to enjoy it. Cheers.
That car was 2 years old when I started working at a Chrysler Plymouth Imperial dealer. I seen many of them back in the day. I always liked the 67s. In my opinion they were built better than their successors.
@@jvcardesign hell yeah I still have it, just took it out of the garage for its first run of the year today!! Started up first crank after sitting 7 months
A fascinating story Fletch and congratulations on your Chrysler New Yorker. I own a totally original 59 Ford Galaxie. It was a one owner in CA for 58 years. Has 71k verified miles on the clock. It also still has the original first service sticker stuck on the inside driver's door. Now with me, an expat Aussie in Bavaria and I just love my Galaxie.
Great episode Fletch Have just found my own barn find a 1966 Ford Fairlane convertible , 30 years in dry storage. You're right about car guys I show photos of the car to people and they just give me a strange look of pity but I can see the car in my mind , the paint & trim & of course the 390 V8 . Always enjoy classic restos keep the great work.
Purchased one of these from my grandfather about 8 years ago. He bought it used in 1969 and drove it for about 7 years before parking it in a machine shed in Iowa. Love this old car, but sourcing parts for some things has been one of my biggest struggles. They're amazing cars and just incredible the features and technology they've got for the time they were built in. I can't wait to get the car completely sorted out and rebuilt mechanically so it can be a real solid driver.
Such a great episode Fletch...from this Chrysler guy to another Chrysler guy...have lots of fun with your land yacht. Boy were there also some spectacular Imperials in that barn. Imperials are actually better than Lincoln's and Cadillac's because they were built on a solid frame chassis and because of their scarceness, are more sought after that the other 2. I hope others come along to 'save' others in that barn.
Murry Park -Tiffin OH! L.O.L. I currently own a 1978 Chrysler Le Baron that is in VGC and he has been the source of many hard to find pieces. I just want to get down there to meet him and walk those friggin' barns!
My first car was a 1967 New Yorker 4 door hard top. In fact that car is a mirror image of mine. Right down to the color, turquoise Twilight metallic. But mine had disc brakes with 15 inch wheels plus cruise control,to make a long story shot mine had ever option that was available at that time. The original owners name was on that service card under the hood, it made it easy to find him. He told me that he bought the car for his wife in December of 1966 as a Christmas present and kept it in the Chrysler show room that hole mouth untill Christmas Eve. The car gone now, I parted it out years ago. A lot of the parts didn't go to waste. Thay were used to keep others going. In my opinion some cars have to be sacrificed to keep other running. Well anyway liked this video, it's like seeing and old friend, even though it was only her twin.
i remember being a kid and seeing land barges like this in the old hood for $300 or less.. we used to buy them and bomb around town then take them up in the woods for a camping trip and play cat and mouse with them.. not many made it back to the city.. we would also pull them apart for the drivetrain to stuff into smaller cars.. but the car hobby has gotten so stupid on cash value that I guess it was just a mater of time before people started exporting 4-doors for good money.. awesome show btw and hello from the states 8)
I just want to find a fully optioned HK Brougham in a barn somewhere to replace the one I had to sell many years ago. well done on your find Fletch, hope you have many years of pleasure from it.
I had a 1972 Dodge Monaco two door that was a blast to drive!! Somebody before I owned it had swapped out the 360 in it for a 318, but it was still a wonderful car!!!!!! I took it the first week I owned it on a 200 mile trip and what an absolute pleasure to drive!! The only thing I ever had a problem with though was the fusible links in the car kept shorting out at the weirdest times!! When I finally got that fixed once and for all, the starter failed in it, and the frame rusted through as I as repairing it, (New York weather does that) so I gave it to a friend of mine who is also a big fan of Mopars!!
The big luxury land yachts were, more often than not, purchased by retirees or, at least older empty nesters, so they weren't used for commuting, thus the low miles.
I have my Grand Fathers 1967 Chrysler New Yorker. Gave to me in 1984 by my Grand Mother. Where the car has been parked since 1972. In fact 1967 440's should have #915 ( H.P.) or #516 close chamber heads. After years of searching i found a "Parts car" to replace some worn out or broken parts. I took my heads and had hardened valve seats put in with over size valves, an Aluminum dual plane intake, 509"/ 511" Hydraulic Camshaft, Road Runner H.P. exhaust manifolds, 2' 1/2" dual exhaust with burned out "Hush Thrush" turbo mufflers. Replaced the 2:73- 742 case, gears with a 489 case 3:55 sure grip. Added a 4150 750 cfm Holley Double pumper carb. Replaced the factory 14"-225/70/14 tires and rims with a set of "Honey Comb" style 15" Aluminium Rims with 235/75/15 with 1" whitewall radials.
He or she (whatever gender you want to assign!) has cleaned up well. I like that you're prepared to go the patina route. Restoration can ruin things forever if you don't know what you're doing, which is why I'm glad you can choose this route, with fixing what needs fixing. Chrysler make the most ornate power window switches in the business. The Adelaide made Chrysler by Chrysler and then the Regal SE (plus some optioned up Regals and even the odd Valiant(!)) attest to thus. And look at those fenders! Holden HD anyone?

Nothing wrong with a classic 4 door. Great video. Also great to see you left it stock. Nothing worse than everything being customized and LS'd.
Welcome to the New yorker family. A beautiful big Chrysler. I found mine in 2015 in Canton Georgia a 1977 New Yorker with 57,000 miles. Enjoy.

Nice car, and your absolutely correct, not every car is a Hemi Challenger
Great find! Greetings from South Carolina, USA!
