I will never forget this opening prod watching when i was still young. No complicated choreographies... Just formations with exquisite execution.:)
I'm a filipino and a beauty pageant fan but everytime I see this opening number I got goosebumps coz this is the most epic and most poetic opening number in history. This is what #MissUniverse is all about and that is BEAUTY.
This is the best opening number in Miss Universe history! So artistic and poetic! They really convey the messages that a Miss Universe is a goddess and the fairest of them all.
These days they focus on advocacy sheer beauty is no longer guarantee you will win Miss universe
sooo many beautiful girls this year, what a shame USA and Canada made top 5, IMO they were clappers 🥱

I think this was one of best Miss Universe opening numbers the white dresses were beautiful the balls add to presentation and the background music.

I understood a Cyprus' newspaper revealed the top 15, with Czech Rep [11], Netherlands [12], Panama [13], Germany [14], and Japan [15]. Later on I found out Aruba ended up [16], Brazil [17], Switzerland [18], and Israel [20]. Anybody remember who placed 19?

First comment! From what I heard, Philippines was one of the huge favorites but was not able to secure a spot in the Top 10. Well, that's the start of the decade-long drought of PH in Miss Universe.
Because of her gown made by Barrazza if she belong to the finalist it will be battle between Miss India and Nina

That time i think politics philippines was a bad image due to some incidents in that country before this pageant happen it became a trend in united states and all over the world
@@ceciliacici2763 it was the gown and styling. Not politics at all. See her evening gown during the prelim and you'll know why she didn't enter the Top 10.

She was more elegant and sexier than Miss Colombia, Canada, Estonia, France, South Africa who made the top 10 twenty years ago.
I heard Netherlands was close to make the top-10, wish she made it instead of Canada.

USA, Estonia, Zimbabwe, Canada were pretty average that year. Could have included Germany or even Mexico.
Philippines, Aruba, Japan, Trinidad & Tobago as Mexico had ALSO an overall stronger presentation rather than Colombia, Canada, Estonia, France South africa that year
@@ceciliacici2763 France was okay for me. She was gorgeous in her local pageant. Though I also prefer Germany in there.

Sayang si Nina Ricci Alagao kung pumasok lang sya sa top 10 baka nagtagisan sila ni Miss India kaso naligwak sya dahil sa gown
Her gown was simple and very very elegant also hindi naman ganun kapangit mas magaling pa nga sya magdala ng gown nya during prelims compared to some finalists in top 10
Overall na mas maganda pa nga yung prelim gown nya kaysa kina Miss Spain at Venezuela(who were actual runners-up)
Actually napanood ko din preliminaries nila, MAS MAGANDA ang overall performance at gown ni Nina Ricci kaysa sa mga IBANG nakapasok sa Top 10

Lo qué pasa es que fuera de su país gracias a la presión de la República popular de China debían llamarse Chinese Taipei pero legalmente debían llamarse Taiwán 🇹🇼 por eso salió después de Switzerland , esas chicas rotaban de bandas a cada rato

jose andres cuando eran eventos no oficiales podían llevar la banda de Taiwan, de resto con la de Chinese Taipei
