Wesley Newsome That's nonsense. This system wasn't even built until 2010 and was upgraded in 2013. You're ascribing quite a lot of power to a system if you're saying it went back in time and lost your luggage in the past in some other airport. The main cause of lost luggage is human error. This kind of system will address that.
Gregory Sloan There are so many processes that go through this system that the chance of error is much higher than places like seatac airport where the luggage is sent to the bays located under the terminal. I'm very skeptical due to every airport except seatac managing to lose my bags during several travels
Wesley Newsome It's usually not because the transport system messed up, but because bags were delayed in security or on the baggage trolleys on the runway.
Wesley Newsome I dont think you realize how much luggage is NOT lost. Look at some of the major airports, the population of people and add about a bag or two and that is a lot of items being shuffled around safely and without being lost. Could you imagine the total cluster fuck that would be without the machines and conveyorbelt system?
Boss: "Hey uhh, Robert, someone lost their bag. I guess it fell off the convener belt somewhere. Can you go find it?" Robert: *jumps into oncoming traffic*

+David Andersson If you are a non-employee who has discovered this facility amid the ruins of civilization, welcome! And remember, testing is the future, and the future starts with you.
it's funny you mention that, I'm currently studying this conveyor system for Operation: Black Mesa & Guard Duty. I'm an environment artist working with Tripmine Studios and one of my goals is to wrap my mind around the many vast and comprehensive systems that are utilized throughout the Black Mesa Research Facility. A few big ones would be the coolant system; fresh blue coolant is pumped from the Sector B Coolant Reserves throughout the rest of the facility, when it becomes spoiled from toxic radioactivity it turns green, and is recycled through Residue Processing and raw materials are sent back to Sector B to begin its cycle again. Another large system would be the beamline system. High energy particles are sent out via electron guns into a network of beamlines that incorporate cyclotrons and synchrotrons. These beams make their way to most of the labs in the BMRF, notably areas like Crush Depth, Datacore, Rapidcore, Sector C Test Labs, and really any other part of the facility that may require them. Beamlines generate light brighter then the sun, the brightest light possible, and are cycled through storage rings, and then released into experiment hutches where scientists can use the light to observe an endless myriad of samples from molecular biology to theoretical physics, from archeology to astronomy, and in the BMRF since the late 50s these beamlines have played a key role in unlocking the potential of anti-gravity and teleportation technology. There are many more systems at work, but I will mention one more. The conveyor system! A series of conveyor belts transfer packages from one sector to another. These can be observed in both Residue Processing and We've Got Hostiles. My plan is to expand the conveyor system to something similar to what we see here functioning in airports. One example will be in the map obm_rubble, which is the "Black Mesa Manufacturing Hub - Control Panel Assembly / Building C". Here workers fabricate control panels of all sorts and sizes, and send them off to other parts of the facility. Trucks will deliver the raw materials from outside, and once control panels are completely assembled, they are sent off through the conveyor system to their destination. This is because alot is going on in the manufacturing hub, and various components are manufactured in different parts of the facility. If someone requires a bunch of small transformers, they can be shipped off from the transformer manufacturing warehouse to anywhere else thanks to the conveyor system.
Dominic Cazenove The time the luggage had to wait before it could/should be proceeded to the next step? The luggage isn't constantly on the move but has to be stored for some time at some points.
Dominic Cazenove Also, I'd imagine there are some security concerns. Not sure the TSA would be okay with a detailed clip of how luggage sorting systems work would go online.
ringerxo As long are certain parts are removed, the clip is fine. (Daily Planet did something like this, they said they were forced to remove a screening part at the beginning for security reasons)

That’s awesome and stuff, but I really want to know when the TSA (America only) opens up your bag and what the heck they do to check if your bag has explosives or whatever. Like, can you not open my bag? Is there a sniffer dog that smelled my Lush soaps, or something?
This is only at the bigger international airports. The smaller ones with 3 concourses, they take a short ride where the agent puts them on carts and then out to the plane after loaded. They don’t get lost because they are scanned A LOT!
And to even imagine Toys Story 2 gave us an insight of what a baggage system does! They were not wrong at all! Impressive technology and it must be a fun ride for the luggages
Admittedly I am an outsider and I will give the benefit of the doubt to the designers… But a lot of it seems unnecessarily complicated. For example, there’s a couple times where the conveyor belt goes in a large semi circle (why didn’t it just exit earlier). and a few times where it seems to go up a ramp for no good reason (it’s not to go over something else but simply seems to have an incline followed by a decline.) anyway cool to watch. but yeah, would probably be cheaper to hire manual labor. this stuff has GOT to be very expensive to maintain (let alone the initial expense)
My guess is it goes in circulation due to the flight not being there yet and also another plane my be taking the station at the moment. So a sort of Stall… do you agree completely or mostly agree?

I thought my cat would like this. Even put a bubble dome for him to look out of. Cats cannot appreciate technology apparently....
Space Mountain for luggage...fun.
It's a bit like Space Mountain with the lights on.
What is the name of the airport?
Schiphol

why this look like the dopest rollercoaster ever tho? Like, someone make a Disneyland ride based on this PLEASE.
So a sort of
Stall… do you agree completely or mostly agree?
