The U.S is horrible for airport security. I visited the U.S. last year and was shocked at how difficult their airport security was, they even make you take off your shoes and belt etc.. In Australia you don’t need to do anything like that, you can keep your shoes and belt. All you have to do is put your carry on bag on the x-ray belt, and empty your pockets into another bin and you’re right to go through. And we have never had an aircraft hijacking in our entire history.

So true. Some airports have latest tech, others are still stuck in limbo. Some airports do not require you to take out the liquids anymore (still have to be in 1 quart bag) and others it's required. And this is in the US.
I am living in the UK and this pretty much can I think apply to every airport a country has. It will be my first time I really need airport security in 3 weeks time when I go to Spain. I am going for longer than my very first time on a plane and so need more. I want to bring my iPad as I have an art app and want to draw using the Apple Pencil a scene. I also have the charger for it as well as my iPhone and FitBit and the chargers for them. Thank you for all the advice.

I've seen phones of all sizes, I'm sure there's one that's as big as my PSVita by now, so bigger than a Vita could count as 'go in the bin by itself'? I even have portable battery charging pods that are smaller than mobile/cell phones, where do they go? Do they stay in a handbag? My method the last two times I flew was to put my electronics and USB charging/audio cables/earphones in a little locked transparent makeup bag by itself (mostly so I could keep track of where everything was lest some opportunist....!), should I continue to assume that helps, since you can see literally everything in it at all angles? Just because I don't like having stuff just loose in a box where anyone can nab it and I might not notice until well after.
It really doesn’t matter. Sure you would think most is common sense to the majority and it is, but to the rest of us who travel frequently the rules change seemingly weekly. Then they act irritate that your not up to date on last weeks change.
LUGGAGE TIPS 1, 2, 3 Tie two or three colored ribbons of different lengths around the handle to your luggage to warn others that this is not their luggage. People grab luggage at the turnstile and take it home before you ever see it. Anywhere you put your bag, it could be grabbed in error. Example: overhead compartment, unloaded from the bus, at the hotel lobby, at the turnstile... Use 1” wide ribbons 14” long. Cut the ends at 45 degrees then seal the end with one drop of Super Glue to prevent fraying. If each ribbon is slightly a different length by 1/2” or so, they will all show up no matter how they drape. Tie the 3 ribbons as a sandwich, as if they were one ribbon. Use a man’s tie, a half Windsor knot for the best look. After it is tied on, the total length of the ribbons will be about 6” from the handle. A longer ribbon shows up better. You can see it from 40 feet away. Perhaps tie TWO handles or RINGS top and side of the case. This way, it won’t slide around. Put your phone number on one ribbon using a permanent Sharpie. Example: “Owner 454-333-7878” Choose one ribbon with an unusual pattern or fabric to really make it unique. Stand by the output hole port of the turnstile to reduce the chance of someone else grabbing the piece. Tie your skiies, duffel bag, and what ever with matching ribbons-even your computer case. If you are a Travel Agent, you could hot gold stamp one ribbon with your name and phone number. Send them a set of ribbons, red and blue and BLACK to your customer as a gift. Record this gift in your database so you don’t duplicate yourself. Buy a gold hot embossing machine. Gold emboss your business name on the BLACK ribbon. Put the customer’s name on it if possible. Pleasant color combinations: Red and blue Chartreuse and purple Orange and light blue Orange and yellow Gray and pink Green and yellow Red and Green Red and Gold Light blue and light green The third ribbon could be white, gray, black, tan Tip #2 Take a cell phone picture of the ribbon tied on. Then another picture of the full luggage piece. You now have a way to communicate “what it looks like”. Tip #3 Place a strip of colored duct tape on the inside lining to your case. Put your name and phone number on this tape. If all identity is stripped from your case, you have this to show. If someone steals it and rips off identity tags, you can show the police officer the inside tape..

She says that hairdryers don’t come out of the bags yet when I packed my hairdryer in my carryon the TSA asked me to open my luggage because my travel size hairdryer which folds in half looked suspicious
So I'm going to be making to International trips next year. I have a feeding pump that is not allowed to go through x-ray if it does then let's just say goodbye to my main source of food. And because of a terminal breathing condition I have to wear a pulse oximeter prescription grade so that way my oxygen can be monitored. I haven't traveled in a long time. Last time I traveled was when I was a little kid. I've also got the medication that due to the nature of my immune system needs to be kept in its container do keep it nice and sterile. Such as feeding formula breathing medication pills injection Etc. Anyways I was just curious about what TSA does in situations like that? I will be having a caregiver accompany me on my travels since I cannot see too well and that can make my health very hard to manage
If you let TSA know they will insure your needs are met. You can be screened without putting yourself in harms way. It will take a little longer for you to be screened. The time would depend on the airport, a fairly small one twenty minutes, a larger busy airport an extra forty minutes to an hour. enjoy the trip

If you're flying domestically within the USA, do yourself a favor and get TSA Precheck. You don't need to take out your laptop or your toiletries, and you can leave your shoes and belt on! I'm surprised this wasn't mentioned in the video.
ugh... i think this was a new rule last year, and i didn't know. so, instead of having all of my larabars and that's it bars (both are moist, fruit-based snack bars) together in a clear ziplock bag, i had them scattered through my crossbody bag and my carry on. the tsa agent didn't, however, care about the half pack of salted cashews. the year before that, i was leaving orlando, and both my carry on and my personal bag got pulled aside for a handcheck. all the scanner operator saw was a cylinder full of spheres, but as soon as she dug it out of my bag and saw the 'wizarding world of harry potter' bag, she realized it was just a jar of candy from honeydukes. so now i **really really** know to pull all food items out when going through the security check. :D
Except curling irons, laptop chargers, blow dryers, and "etc.." Nothing as simple as the multi million dollar conveyor system luggage goes through with multiple stops and multiple opportunities for theft to occur.
So if your referencing the solid tube case it is a discretionary call. Per the rules in place it is not a prohibited item. However since I cannot see the one you are referencing there are a few that "could" be used as a weapon. It falls to the supervisor if it can be allowed through or not.
I arrived at Austin 3 HOURS EARLY I was able to check in and there was a very short TSA line and a long one. I was told to go to the long one. This was at 5 am. The line was moving VERY SLOW Then dogs came in and we walked around 10 or so times. I walked through the detector and it went off. I was told nothing by the officer. I was shamefully told to step aside. He then swabbed my hands. Still telling me nothing about this. He put it in a machine. He then told me to go. I hope you’re happy TSA. I missed my grandmas funeral due to yalls stupidity.
I left $25 cash and credit card in my side pocket and zipped it, made sure it was zipped before placing it in the X-ray machine, in MCO Orlando, on arrival to my terminal I found both cash and BOA rewards card had been stolen by TCA agent , called police went back . The credit card never been returned to me, I wish this agent was fired. What a crook!

Cindy Bare he never tried to find me, it all happened while the other two agent took care of my dog, he pretended my staff dropped out of picked inside X-RAY, called my name gave me dog ID and chase ATM and chase rewards card back, I saw him showing cash to the people behind me, later I realized it was my cash and he never asked me if it was mine cause I would say “yes” and he knew it was mine. It was a whole crooked scam, carefully thought through

If you're TSA Pre-Check qualified you don't need to do anything special but remove your jacket and anything from your pockets.

I would always carry on prescription meds unless they are prohibited for some reason. A lost checked bag could spell disaster.

If you're flying domestically within the USA, do yourself a favor and get TSA Precheck. You don't need to take out your laptop or your toiletries, and you can leave your shoes and belt on! I'm surprised this wasn't mentioned in the video.

ugh... i think this was a new rule last year, and i didn't know. so, instead of having all of my larabars and that's it bars (both are moist, fruit-based snack bars) together in a clear ziplock bag, i had them scattered through my crossbody bag and my carry on. the tsa agent didn't, however, care about the half pack of salted cashews.
the year before that, i was leaving orlando, and both my carry on and my personal bag got pulled aside for a handcheck. all the scanner operator saw was a cylinder full of spheres, but as soon as she dug it out of my bag and saw the 'wizarding world of harry potter' bag, she realized it was just a jar of candy from honeydukes.
so now i **really really** know to pull all food items out when going through the security check. :D

So if your referencing the solid tube case it is a discretionary call. Per the rules in place it is not a prohibited item. However since I cannot see the one you are referencing there are a few that "could" be used as a weapon. It falls to the supervisor if it can be allowed through or not.

I arrived at Austin 3 HOURS EARLY I was able to check in and there was a very short TSA line and a long one. I was told to go to the long one. This was at 5 am. The line was moving VERY SLOW Then dogs came in and we walked around 10 or so times. I walked through the detector and it went off. I was told nothing by the officer. I was shamefully told to step aside. He then swabbed my hands. Still telling me nothing about this. He put it in a machine. He then told me to go. I hope you’re happy TSA. I missed my grandmas funeral due to yalls stupidity.
I left $25 cash and credit card in my side pocket and zipped it, made sure it was zipped before placing it in the X-ray machine, in MCO Orlando, on arrival to my terminal I found both cash and BOA rewards card had been stolen by TCA agent , called police went back . The credit card never been returned to me, I wish this agent was fired. What a crook!
irina trudova I always watch my things and you see if they are unzipping a pocket. Airports I go through they always bring the bag to you before going through. You can make sure that happens.

Cindy Bare he never tried to find me, it all happened while the other two agent took care of my dog, he pretended my staff dropped out of picked inside X-RAY, called my name gave me dog ID and chase ATM and chase rewards card back, I saw him showing cash to the people behind me, later I realized it was my cash and he never asked me if it was mine cause I would say “yes” and he knew it was mine. It was a whole crooked scam, carefully thought through
