Another fine job well done! My VSX is like yours with gobs of crap on the underside by the regulators. Mine looks like spaghetti now because most of the traces were already lifted from the heat. I also moved those caps from between the heat sinks to the underside away from the heat. Plus drilled a few small holes to help with air flow both in the board (traces were gone anyways) and a few around the bases of the heat sinks themselves so air can enter around the bottom and flow around the regulators themselves. They're choked off with very little air flow from the factory. So far, so good. Now when I am out in the garage and listening to Led Zeppelin (and others), so do the neighbors. lol!

Great to see you posting again! Awesome troubleshooting and solder work as well. It's a shame the design engineers did not factor in airflow requirements around the V regulator section to give these a little healthier component lifespan; plenty of board real estate available. As always, another great save for a premium piece of equipment!

I think you must have said "went ahead and..." or "go ahead and..." about 200x. But man you sure do know your stuff. This is so beyond my abilities... well done.

I have a 9300 right now that has no output. Preamp side is fine, I was using it in the garage with an old Yamaha power amp, but now I'd like to get it back fully functional. I also have a 9700 that I'm using in a basement setup. Wonderful line of receivers.

@@luvradios Hello friend, they are selling me a receiver of this same one, what do you think will be worth buying it will be that you get the spare parts when it is damaged some day, I saw that it has an original Pioneer integrated in the middle of the card I imagine that this integrated will be difficult to achieve or will no longer exist. What do you recommend me ?

I'd also like to add after noting how much heat my unit was generating, I wired up a small computer fan, set it on top, and pluged it into the switched outlet on the back. Keeps its cool!

Are you referring to the input level meter lights? If so, do you have sound on both left & right channels? Are both of the pre/main jumpers installed on the main channels?

Rodney, thanks for checking out the video! When you turn the unit on, after a few seconds do you hear the speaker protection relay click? Is this happening with all inputs: ce, tape , radio etc?

Great instruction. I am grabbing a unit with 2 speakers tomorrow for 10 USD. Queensrych is so 90s. Perfect combo for the amp.
