@@Deathmare235 I don't know what part of the campaign but it's when after Mason escaped the prison and starts to remember the flashbacks, he realized that all the missions after escaping the prison and seeing reznov was just an hallucination. U can watch or play the campaign urself if ya want. 👌👍

I remember that a few days after MW3 came out, I was talking to my brother about how bad it was that they killed Soap. He then said that there was a possibility that he survived, because we didn't see his body being cremated and you can survive being shot in the head (for example, Al Kapone's boss survived being shot in the head)

Step 1: Kill a main character
Step 2: Use a shitty battle pass and seasons to.
Step 3: Make a timeline that doesn't make sense.

Facts
Soap is KIA and scattered across the Scottish Highlands; unless retro-metabolism (the ability to recreate an exact likeness of an object or person) is a thing in the MW universe.
Modern Warfare connects to the Black Ops universe which in the Black Ops universe they can recreate characters due to Black Ops 4 so who knows.

in the cinematic it shows the timer go off just before the scene ends and we know it is some kind of chemical bomb. maybe soap got infected with it and ... (this is where my theory ends, maybe he was able to survive the gunshot and now soap is undercover or he somehow in 2 bodies. both of which are highly unlikely)
I believe mw3 (mw 2.5) was a rush game, Soap's "death" doesn't even hit that hard like the OG

He’s very dead. The worst part about this is that he never had the chance for a father & son relationship with Price and didn’t get enough character development unlike his OG self.

Well, no matter what part of time it is, seeing Soap in a season will always be a joy! Especially since he’s now the main focus of one🤩

I love captain soap
He already had a season to himself in MW2019. Instead of making something new or giving operators that don't have that many skins, new skins. You get repeat, Soap.

Soap is dead. The cinematic is just a callback to one of his past classified operations in Urzikstan, nothing more, nothing less.
I actually appreciate that this makes sense timeline wise, although I still wish we were back to the MW19 days where season cutscenes were 1. Grounded (having a bunch of steampunk anime characters running around is just not my thing, it was always fine in black ops but leave my post MW19 universe alone, they crafted such an amazing space in MW19 and its cutscenes) 2. I wish cutscenes actually continued the story brining in classic MW characters like they did in MW19, this ties into my first point but they have such a landscape to work with and again for me personally they kill the story or investment when the cutscenes aren’t realistic and don’t mean anything anymore to a serious MW plot

He’s dead the start of the season 4 cinematic says that the cutscene is dated for 2022. So season 4 takes place before mw3. If mw3 takes place in 2024 that is.

i find it so weird how nobody talks about how soap died twice. he died in the original mw3, we watched him die and then he dies again
Even if Soap somehow miraculously survived the gunshot to the head I doubt he would be ever able to return to the field anyways. Bro got shot in the prefrontal cortex so he wouldn't be able to do much without assisted living

It may have seemed so questionable at first because the warzone era had the multiplayer seasons so far as extra story after the campaigns. I think though that this one is quite interesting to have, even if it means that Soap is dead after all.

Technically we never "saw" soap cremated, we saw them throw ashes or sand into the mountians of Scotland. Im still pissed at how the campaign ended. How can they just end it like that?
Something tells me, there might be a Soap background story stage in MW-IV. Just like they did Ghost in MWIII.

I'd say that Soap was cloned. Since the original MacTavish was cremated and Sledgehammer games going for Advanced Warfare theme, it's the only thing that would make sense.

It’s possible that the entire premise of mw3 was a cover…like it could have been written by laswell and the game we played was simply a brief. And soap dying just means he can come back as another ghost operator. Because Simon Riley is an actual person, he’s just called ghost because he’s a ghost operator. Nobody knows who he actually “is”. Again just a thought 🤷
thet would acrually make sense as a false alibi for ever operator sinc ein Modern Warfare 2 they all use a Ghost mask making mesning that something change Task 141 entirely and they need a false alibi to fully hide their entire vackstory since they are no going agaist themselves and their country in a way

For the most elite operators in the world, they sure do lose track of their high value targets a lot.

What’s sad is how MW 19 player base was through the roof. It was back to its origins and everyone loved it, overall that’ll bring them in more profit long term. But, selling out to do dumbass collaborations (Nicki, snoop, Fallout, etc) kills the basis of call of duty. Warzone was a hit, it was for your causal players and og fans of the series. Now, like they fumbled in 2013 with ghost 10 years ruining the series. And I don’t have a lot of hope for BO6 either, already rumors of being back woods (who is clearly crippled by 1991).
Lastly, bringing back dead people who so happened to be fan favorite ruins creativity, yes you can get away with a false death maybe one or two times, but when you clearly see a person get a bullet to their brain they are out for the count. It ruins the incentive to make new characters that have a chance to carry the franchise into the future. For example, just because Mason is in hiding and woods is in a wheelchair, Adler could carry the black ops series.

Oh yeah, I’m gonna theorize again. This time about the timeline of the seasons.
As known, Season 4 takes place in May of 2022. Its theme? DNA and Bioweapons. What was last seasons theme? Rebirth island and makarov. Rebirth was a Nova 6 production facility in the black ops timeline, and Nova 6 is well known to be a BIOWEAPON. Perhaps season 3 takes place sometime after the campaign, and season 4 sees itself as a scenario and threat that is comparable to what makarov is doing, and this similar scenario just happens to include Soap MacTavish.
As for season 2? Perhaps ghost exploring his inner demons after Soaps death (as they showed a bond with one another in MW2, and ghost could be disgruntled after his friend’s death).

something does not add up
He's Dead because he was KIA'd in the mission called "Countdown" when it was from November 21, 2023 While Operation "Redacted" was Engage in May 22, 2022. So clearly Soap died.

Is this still a question? Unlike Graves and even Alex, Soap was seen shot dead to the head and had his ashes in an urn while those two supposedly died “off screen”
