    I live in upstate NY. I have a jd heating element installed in my primary fuel filter of my 6105m. I also
    treat my fuel, because my tractor is in an unheated pole barn. I plug in my block heater 1 hour ahead
    of starting. When the temperature is as cold as you have, you have got to do everything possible to
    lessen the strain on the battery, when starting. Good luck on the rest of the winter.

    You guys should have a big battery jump starter pack. I wouldn't want to be using the other tractors to jump start since everything has sensitive computers and electronics.

    • @Boga217
      @Boga217 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That many tractors you'd need several packs. Cables are sometimes the most effective option. If you simply read the manual about jump start procedures it's perfectly safe and fine. If its wasn't safe it wouldn't be in the manuals, they'd lose millions in lawsuits if it damaged them.

    He said they were all plugged in and you can see the cords if you look closely. Those are block heaters. Looks like something is needed for the battery too tho. The Kubotas and bigger JD have larger alternators.

    Something often overlooked is the battery itself. Buy heated battery blankets and put them on all the batteries. You would be surprised the difference in cranking power if you do that.

    All tractors parked outside should be plugged in. All should have been purchased with cold start pkg's.
    Any dash with a STOP sign lit, must be turned off and not started until problem is fixed. Using starting
    fluid is a bad thing.

    Why not plug them in? Get wifi enabled receptacles and when it gets cold or 4+ hours before when you go out, open up the app on your phone and instantly have all the block heaters turned on. You will need a bunch of circuits run but that's the only way I'd ever have it if our machines weren't in a heated shop.

    John Deere don’t give a crap about the 4 series I think compared to Kubota. They’re more worried about their big price tag machines.
    I will say over the past decade Kubota has taken me from hating them, to really appreciating their work.
    A battery disconnect switch may be the ticket for you guys, I know a few guys who have problems with minimal draw killing their batteries even in heated shops.

      2mins. each.....
      Do those drives 30×'s

    • @paybax
      @paybax ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@michaelshallue1801 Exactly, I have done the math a few videos ago. $1M gross profit per season.
      At $12.50/push which is 40 events. That’s $20k gross per snow event. Labour 8 hours X $40 by 20 guys only $6500. So leaves over $13k per snow event for all the other overhead.
      With an operation this massive it’s great value for the customers and the drivers are likely paid decently and the boss man can clear 6 figures in 5-6 months. Everybody wins.

    • @rodickenterprisesllc2031
      @rodickenterprisesllc2031 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is something to be said about being in the snow business where it doesn't snow as much... We service a little under 1000 driveways in Upstate Ny at $360.00 to $ 560.00 US dollars per driveways and average around 12 runs per season. I'm making 6 figures here with less effort, LOL!!!
      Im thinking competition in Canada is a lot tougher, so guys think they need to charge less. 🤔 Is the 500$ Canadian you're charging, getting your total number of driveways to 2000 so quickly? Is it worth the cost of leaving money on the table? Focus on building density through customer service, and then you can charge a lot more money.
      Example: I have a route with 130 driveways in less than 1 square mile. I find that my fuel costs are less, my labor is less, my equipment costs are less, and my marketing costs are less.
      Service your driveways as quickly as possible, and your density will explode!
