    What other coaches see: 3 timeouts
    What Brad Stevens see: 6 free points.

    If he’s not coach of the year somethings wrong..think about the injuries the Celtics have had to deal with and there still doing great

    A true sign of a good coach is making average players look incredible. Nobody else is taking these players to the Conference finals without Kyrie and Hayward. The ATO plays against Philly were masterful. Well done coach

      Michael Jordan
      It's scary to think this the Celtics at half strength. I can only imagine how good they will truly be come next season with a fully healthy Kyrie and Hayword.

    • @blackmayb3

      Michael Jordan You forget that the warriors were kind of off all year..
      I wouldn't say Celtics would lose absolutely, but it'll be a 7 game series that could go either way, unless one of the key players get injured (Steph's ankles, Draymond getting suspended again, Kyrie's ankles, etc)

    • @SilkyLew

      It's not guaranteed for us next year what are you even saying? If the GSW get 1st seed it doesn't mean that Kerr should get COTY because he has a ton of talent. Brad being able to get 2 seed without Hayward is why he deserves COTY this year.

      Hank Hill maybe. It's not a post session award and although he faced much injury, it sort of should go to the best record. Regular season awards are stats based and don't really matter.

    Boston's playoff success this year has been 100% a result of their coaching. Tell me if any other team could lose their top 3 players in the second round of the playoffs and still be in a position to bring out those brooms.

    • @craigresnianky6909
      @craigresnianky6909 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Well, it can't be "100 percent coaching," although I get the spirit of your comment. Stevens can draw up the most ingenious plays, but the players still have to put the ball in the hoop and they are doing just that.

    I'm glad the Sixers are getting humbled this series by the Celtics B-team. I hope Ben and Joel will think twice before acting like they're already all-time greats again. They carry themselves like they're seasoned champions but they have no where near the hearts of champions. Ben actually had the unmitigated gall to say he should've been an all star and that he's the runaway ROTY, and look at him now, choking against the Celtics bench squad. And I don't wanna hear that this is their first playoffs as an excuse. What playoff experience did Tatum have before this series? None, and he's thoroughly outplaying both of them. Wanna know why? All Tatum does is work hard on his game and play hard in all the minutes he gets. Then you have these two arrogant bums, who know how to talk but can't back any of it up when the stakes get higher. I have no sympathy for any player who chokes after boasting all season and I don't give a damn if they're rookies or vets cuz at the end of the day, they're all grown ass men who know better. Put the process on standby until these two humble themselves

    • @shanks6404

      Cavs have their Number though also for whatever reason Tristan Thompson always owns Al Horford so I got the Cavs

    • @Qichar
      @Qichar 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think they get past Philly but Lebron stops them. Lebron simply has too much experience and physical talent to let the Celtics win a 7 game series. Plus, we can see that Kevin Love still has some left in the tank. Not good defensively, but he can still get you 30 and 10 or 20 and 15. These are crazy playoff numbers. As dependable as Al Horford is, he doesn't have the same 3 point accuracy and he doesn't post up quite as consistently as Love.
      Finally, don't forget that Lebron has really, really high basketball IQ. He's on the floor while Brad Stevens has to yell from the sidelines. I think it comes down to can Boston slow down Lebron and Love on their end and score consistently on the other, because while their defense is clearly superior, they lack the star power of Cleveland. It will definitely be an interesting series but I give the edge to the Cavs.

    Excellent video. Coach Stevens did it at Butler now he is doing it in the NBA. His system is built for success and really brings out a player's strong points. When they leave the Celtics they look like average players. The Celtics future is bright if they can get passed the stubborn injuries. The Celtics have the answers in everything they do. Great organization.

    Midway thru’ the first 2:58 mins of the clip, I can tell the difference between Coach Brad Stevens and Coach Quin Snyder. This is exactly why an excellent defensive team with a myriad of offensive plays given to them can perennially outperform the expected win totals by basketball-reference. On the other hand, Quin’s team is as good defensively and did not know how to train a talented Utah team to run plays other than throwing lobs to Favors and Gobert. If you don’t have offensive go-to options in playoff situations. If you don’t have non-defendable jumpers, don’t have players who can draw fouls at will and hit unbelievable jumpers in crutch time, you are not likely to have a team that excels and outperform the expected win totals by basketball-reference. You can be a top 5-8 team perennially and stop at semi-finals every year.

      He's awful at the line. If I'm a sixers fan, I'd rather him shoot that shot than get fouled. Maybe he could've passed to Embiid or Belinelli, but it would've been risky. He makes that shot probably 70-80% of the time and probably just got tight.

      I think he just throw that shot intuitively
      Sure if he just kept the ball, philly might just won it
      Edit: it's pretty hard to rate that shot since it wasnt a neccesarily a bad shot he pretty much got that shot, its just he unfortunately miss it

      Jake Johnson he meant after ben got the rebound
      Its better for ben to rundown the clock since he missed it (it's still a pretty good shot, close and lack of contest but since he missed it's becoming a bad shot)

    • @blaxson10
      @blaxson10 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jake Johnson When did I talk about Embiids shot? Ben got the rebound up by 1 what two possession game are you blind? If he pulls it out, gives it to a good FT shooter they get a chance to go up 3 cuz Bos would have to foul are you dumb?

    This is discipline, plain and simple. This is practicing the same series of plays and going over why they work with the players again and again, so when crunch time comes and asses get tight, they can fall back on their training to get them through it. You see clearly that while the 76ers also run decent plays, they are not nearly as confident or practiced, and so their execution is sloppy and uncertain. Despite having quite a bit more talent, their lack of experience is really showing here, especially when it gets tight.
    Brad Stevens is showing that in any sport, the fundamentals are very important and can get a decent team over the hump against an (arguably) superior team.

    I think brad deserves way more credit for this post season run thanbhe is getting. I mean, of course the giys in the floor need to execute, but the celtics have been running so much to make the 76ers uncomfortable on both ends. He has won the coaching battle by a landslide in both series so far. I mean, not hard to do against prunty, but this 6ers team is a real threat, but the celtics have just made it look like the wheels fell off

    When Brett Brown is this bad, and Brad Stevens is this good, it just becomes too obvious.
    Stephen A went into rant mode on Brown blaming him for that game 2 loss where the 76ers were up almost 20, and Brown did nothing, not even call a timeout during the Celtics run. Full credit to Stevens too, of course, to pull off these wins with all these injuries. Pure magic.
