This was gold.. especially the analogies part🪙🥇 but if you have such gold content on your TH-cam channel what exactly is the audience getting on the product design module? No offense here just trying to understand how the module is different than the already available content on your channel. I wanna purchase it but I'm just a little confused cause you have such masterful content on your channel I don't understand why would I pay for anything else.
Learning how to design is not going to be enough to lead a successful career. The course talks a lot about understanding the design profession and navigating this career. Just knowing good UI and UX isn’t going to help you grow. The other aspect is that, in order to learn design there is a certain strategy that you need to follow. The reason people are putting out less than average content online today, even though there is so much content available is because they didn’t follow the right strategy to learn and practice. My guide covers that.
Lol For you to enjoy such a masterful content for free on his TH-cam, it’s the more reason why you shouldn’t bat an eyelid to appreciate him by purchasing his Learn Product Design guide🙂
Thank you for making such in depths video on making case study. Felt overwhelmed because of not knowing how to make case study. After seeing this video, I will surely and slowly get there.
This video is really good for job hunting designer and it also point out a lot of good facts with reasons. Super thumbs up and you deserve my sub. Well done mate.
I've been asking from lot of people on my case study but no one sharing the quality feedback so I am not able to understand what I need to improv in my case study but now I understand what I need to do and improve. Thank You chetan for giving these things I cried while I was watching this video for the solution♥️
I've just completed my 2 case studies but was skeptical what to put what to not. I was waiting for this video since you announced on ig and now looking forward for the second part. kudos Chethan!
Thankyou so much for explaining it so clearly, I always had conflicts in my mind about how much information to add. This video has solved so many questions and preconceptions I had. I particularly loved how you explain things while giving examples!
Thank you so much for this fabulous video. Most people only discuss such topics on the surface level. Your explanation really helped me to gain an in-depth knowledge about case study creation.
A really awesome video, it paints a clear picture of a good case study. I loved the point "Explain at the problem level and not the screen level." Waiting for the second part! Also, loved the new transition at the end of the video : )
your content is really really to the point and easy to understand ! just amazing , your all videos just solved all the problems ! thanks for putting such contents !
Hi Chetan, For someone applying to UX jobs as a fresher, what kind of case studies should be included in your opinion? 1. A fictional app/website design showcasing the entire process Or 2. Taking a real-life app and working on a new feature / solving existing problems that could make the user experience better? In this case, the problems identified would still be somewhat based on assumptions and limited research. How to go about it?
OMG! What a detailed video about writing case studies. Now I understood where did I go wrong, Thanks a lot for making this video. Is the part 2 uploaded already?
This is a gold mine✨ This is the type of content that I longed to learn from when I first started out. Thank you so much Chetan for sharing such meaningful and in-depth explanations. I especially found your recent video on Interaction Design very helpful. Could you please make a video about how to effectively get yourself an interview as a junior level designer considering the current situation wherein employees are being laid off? I personally feel like not many companies are hiring interns or junior designers.. not sure why. Would love to hear your thought on this!
I think companies are always on the lookout but they don’t publicly mention it. The general observation is that 1/20 people who apply to a company are worth having a conversation with. And so companies assume that you don’t meet their benchmark when you apply. So I would say that you need to continuously keep applying to companies and reaching out to the designers and recruiters from there. Even if your work is close to their benchmark, then you’re already standing out because 19/20 don’t come anywhere close to their benchmark. The other thing I recommend doing is the keep fixing your project again and again. Get feedback, make changes, you learnt something new, try to implement that. Could be prototypes, could be how to present screens in a case study, could be a new Ui concept, it could be anything. Or work on more projects and make sure that it’s 100x better than the previous one. This isn’t like college where you sit for placements with nothing to do after your 3-4 year program is over. You can't retake your exams and redo your assignments again and again. But you can rework your design project again and again.
Hi Chethan, at 28:28 you mentioned UI and info. architecture issues. As a beginner, I can't find those problems, and think that is okay. Is it possible for you to make a video in which you point out UI and information architecture issues problems? Hope you got my point
Hey Chetan, The point where you are talking about where as an applicant we will get a chance to present and show things in the portfolio round which we haven't shown in the case study. So how this can be done? Can we add/edit things in our case study after getting an interview call? Or do we have to prepare some separate presentation only for the Portfolio round?
❤ your videos, been learning a lot here. Especially your lists of questions and answers you organise on Figma. Is it possible for you to share your Figma file for reference? They’re very useful, but one has to go through the entire video again to see the pointers. It would really help! 🙏 (Also, without the video, the lists won’t do any good, so we have to watch the video for context the first time)
Thanks Chetan for this awesome video... I would love to know your way around storytelling, How you do it Can you please make a video about your design career, How you made it to Apple.. because I believe the best way to become successful is by copying your role models ☺️
Well, it’s going to help the users do something and then it’s going to help the business make money or whatever the business wants. Just ask yourself. What CANT people do if this feature doesn’t exist?
I have started to write my case after watching this video and of course, following it too. But I am stuck in presenting the h-fi mockups when there are multiple users and slight changes of the interface. How do I structure it ?
Well, making a design system will only help you design faster and with more consistency. And most likely the company you work at will have a design system or will need a design system. I don’t think it’s important to show it in your case study, because it’s expected to have basic knowledge of design systems. Showing a few texts styles, components and colors proves absolutely nothing. Your naming convention could be messed up, you might be using the wrong shades of greys across different components, you might have constructed the components incorrectly and not used the right component properties. So showing a snapshot of your design system in your case study is a big fat waste.
@@DesignPilot like getting internships, having real stake holders involved with actual high stake situation in an organization. And also how do I explain about the KPIs impacted if it's not a real project?
If you already have a job, it’s recommended to show a project you worked on in your company. Or else a hypothetical project should be fine. You don’t need to talk about the actual impact if you can’t. But talk about what metrics you’ll track and why.

Both are fine. Don’t work on Landing Pages at all! Web apps are good, but not landing pages
@@DesignPilot Please consider making a video on how to work on real-life app problems for newbie designers :D
The design process is the same irrespective of the type of problem statement
Beautiful presentation. Awesome content.
Chethan, it is the most valuable video I've ever seen for case studies. Thanks a lot for such content 💫🙇🏻♂️
Another super explanation on Topic. It really solved my many queries. Thank you soo much
Thank you very much for this amazing tips. These tips are really useful for people like me who is just entering into this ux world.
Please keep the videos coming Chethan, we will consume it💪🏼

Very helpful ❤ Chetan, I have a question: Which case study presentation method would be better to showcase on Framer or Medium?

Watch my videos on Visual Hierarchy and Information Architecture.

There are many ways. Just make sure the person reading it is able to connect the things you’re saying one at a time.
Hey, Chetan can you please recommend a tutorial about how to upload good quality images in Medium.. I'm not able to find it anywhere.. please 🥺
Read the specifications that medium requires
